MasterPiece Collection v1.1

what i don't get is, why doesn't toynami make the stuff that no other company is making? its pretty obvious that their stuff will sell, IF they make the only toy of its kind on the market. i.e. i dislike their alphas but i own all 4 of them cause they're the only ones who made them. if they made cyclones, regardless of how good/bad it may be, i'd imagine everyone here would buy them. same goes for destroids, battle pods, officer pods, the beta, etc. i mean if you're the only game in town, the diehards don't have much of a choice but to plunk down the loot for it. -

thanks for the pics soloscud, but are those pics of the new one thats coming out? i was hoping it would get the MP treatment...or atleast binaltech, that thing looks like your typical bulkafied TF toy. -
i like macplus. the story was okay, it didn't bother me like some of you guys. i can't say they had real "character development" but enough for what it was. some of you guys are forgetting, its a movie/4 epi OVA, so you can't actually expect the same kind of character development found in the macross TV series....considering the TV series was literally 30 times longer. people praise DYRL all the time but if you really think about it DYRL kind of sucked. if you never watched the TV series, you wouldn't have a clue what the hells going on, nor have any idea who any of the characters are whatsoever. we get it and love it because we're fans and we grew up watch robotech/macross as kids. i think if one of us who never saw the TV show walked into a theatre today, we'd all be like WTF is going on here?, none of this crap makes any sense, this shiet is lame but atleast the planes we're cool....but thats really about it. gettting back to macplus, the music was good, definitely better than minmey singing the same song over and over...which BTW i cannot stand even til today. i'm not even into the music like that but its more tolerable than the cheesy music found in both the japan/US TV series, DYRL, definitely better than mac7(haven't seen it but i was subjected to listen to some of the songs against my will). the animation is kick ass, there not much more to say there. the only thing that maybe comes close is the fight scenes in maczero. i think as long as you don't compare macplus to the macross TV series, its a little easier to accept it for what it is, a decent entertaining anime with kick ass fighting. basically if i spent 10 bucks to watch it today, i wouldn't be at the ticket booth asking for a refund.

i read somewhere about a jetfire release...is this true? if so, is it the original jetfire and will it come with the armor? or is it some new fangled jetfire that actually ressembles the one from the original cartoon? -
and that pic just about covers why i would never buy this. maybe for $50, then i can display it next to....well nothing, its just too friggin small.
-
they(super o and elint) still cost a pretty penny but not as much as they used to...i think its like half of what it use to be? i'd imagine the price will drop even lower if/when yamato makes them in 1/48 scale, probably as low as what a strike sells for right now.
-
i hope you're right but i doubt yamato will give it the 1/48 removeable cover of freshness, they look thin like the VF-0 leg armors.
-
i just thought of something(yeah it happens time to time, i swear!)by the looks of that one pic with all the yamato releases, i think the lighter ghost is only going to be sold with the shins VF-0A, while the darker grey varient is the one you can buy on its own. basically if you want the lighter ghost, you have to buy shins 0A. i'm only guessing but i imagine thats the way they're planning on selling them since thats the way they showed them in the pic. either way, its no sweat off my nuts, someone here will get tired of it and sell it cheap.
-
an extra pilot figure, 2 leg armors, and a green dildo....pass, pass, and pass. i think i'll just keep my 19 as a 1 seater, FP-less, and dildo free, thank you very much. what kills me is, you know they're going to package it in some giant arse box for no reason, so even if the MSRP is inexpensive, they'll make up for it in postage.
-
i hear ya. let me just say, while i prefer them to release new toys, thats not to say it wouldn't buy a cool repaint like the enigma. i'd rather not but it would be very hard to resist a valk that is that unique. now my main issue with something like the enigma scheme would be the paint wear. just look at the angel bird, i think you and i both got ones where the paint chipped off on the hips from just releasing the legs from fighter mode....i can't get down with that. so if they made the enigma, i would imagine it would chip in an instant unless they molded the color into the plastic(which is what they should've done for the AB) but doesn't seem possible since its a very complex paint scheme.
-
i feel you there. not everyone on this site has money to throw around to buy varients of these high priced toys. if i had to make a choice, i'd try to purchase a core fighter flown by a core character and leave it at that, screw all repaints. its just blows when you only have the money for 1 of them, then they release non-core scheme before a core one. you're left sitting there looking at pics of everyone elses toy, on the fence about buying one, wondering if they'll release the varient you want. then you finally break down and buy one, only to find out NOW they're making the one you were waiting for. and to make matters worse, thats the one that comes with the extra whatever it is.....grrrrrrr!
-
they will be considered "vintage" toys and some crazy completist is going to want them eventually, especially if they're sealed. the prices for these might drop like the 1/60s when the 1/48s first came out, but the 1/60's is making a comeback...a slow comeback but still....

with the ghost...without the ghost...at this point, we should know yamato is going to milk the VF-0 mold as well as the ghost mold, just like the milked the VF-1 mold, GBP mold, and any other mold they can milk....wouldn't you? i used to be completist but this hobby is way too expensive if i'm going to try and purchase every toy yamato makes. now i just get whatever i think is worth owning and i'm a happier man for it. if you're one of those people that has to have every single toy/varient yamato makes, its really not yamatos fault, but your own. in the end its your choice whether to fork over the money, otherwise you got some psychological issues you really need to workout.
-
i don't get why everyone thinks there needs to be a matching valk for this armor? even if they made the enigma, what kind of "details" are going to be visible when you slap the armor on? the biceps, the hands, the feet, the head....and i think thats it. besides, i'd rather have yamato releasing new stuff before going with yet another rehashed/repainted VF-1.
-
i agree the correct colored hands make a big difference considering most of the valk itself is cover up. the hands which are exposed and very visible need to blend in with the armor, not stand out like a sore thumb....much like the white forearms if you equip a CF with the camo GBP. i never understood the LVII or the camo GBP armor? i mean whats the point of putting it on when it covers all the camo which makes the valk unique? the same goes for this new GBP armor, whats the point of putting on a LV1(what a total waste) when you won't be able to see the paint apps(smudges) underneath it? even if you slapped it on the stealth, you'll see the black J head and black biceps but thats really it and again, it just covers up everything that makes the valk unique. i guess i could say that about the blue GBP but atleast that one is canon and being that the 1J is the 1J, i could justify owning 2 of them but i'm not buying another stealth and i damn sure ain't buying another LV1 just to accommidate this armor. so far its a nay but i'm talking bulldroppings here, we'll see what happens if/when i get my christmas bonus.

i don't collect TF's at all but i'm positively getting this. all my life i've wanted a megatron toy, now i shall finally have it. thanks for the scoop! -
i'm with this guy. i don't really feel dupped at all. the vf-0 in general is an awesome toy. i mean, i own 15+ vf-1's, so hows a couple of more vf-0's gonna hurt....well except my wallet.
-
looks pretty dope but i'll probably be skipping it like i skipped the LV GBP. as much as i like it, its gonna be $100 and i'd rather save my money for brand new toys(19, 11B, 21) than just another repainted armor kit.
-
awesome simply awesome. i can't wait to see this badboy painted.
-
i'm pretty sure i have one but i'll have to double check. if i got it, i'll give it to you for free....unless you want to paypal me .39 cents for the postage. i'll give you a shout tomorrow.
-
since you couldn't just let it go and since theres real no nice way to put this, i'll just have to be blunt... i don't like you, i never liked you, i don't like what you post, i don't like how you post. i try to avoid you like i avoid people with cold sores....4tehW1N!!11!!!

i'm not jittery at all, i just know better than to post something somewhat controversial and not be "attacked" or feel like i'm going to be "attacked" by certain members. my last post wasn't meant to piss you off but somehow you managed to take it that way....or atleast thats the way i'm perceiving your post. i don't expect anyone to agree with me 100%, even 50% but to me, you just have an abrasive way of agreeing/disagreeing with people...again perhaps that just how i'm perceiving your posts, and vise versa. its certainly doesn't help that its impossible to hear someones "tone" via a messageboard but know this, i only post when i'm in a good mood. even if it seems i come across in a bad way, i don't mean to be, i'm usually sitting here smiling when i post, i'm actually quite the cheerful guy.

if you understand my logic, how about trying out and seeing what happens?, instead of just assuming it makes no difference? i mean, how could it possibly hurt anyone if they don't post how much they're willing to pay for something? if anything, do the opposite and say how much you're NOT willing to pay. i'm not really concerned with yamato(they're wholesalers after all), i'm talking about macross r/etailers. if they sell macross toys, they know this site and when a bunch of us sit there and say, "i'm willing to pay $200 for it", why would any r/etailers in his right mind sell it for any less? if i said to you, "i'll pay $500 for an IPOD", are you going to sell it to me for $400? $450? $475? or $500? i'll take a wild guess and say you'd charge me $500 because thats how much i said i'm willing to pay. i mean, why on gods green earth would you sell it for any less? what seller is that stupid? remember the GBP armor when people kept saying, "i'm sure it'll cost just as much as a 1/48". and what happened? sure enough r/etailers sold it for as much as a 1/48. but how come right now, those same r/etailers are selling them under or at $100 shipped? you think they're really taking a loss on them? where do you suppose they got that imaginary $35 mark up from? could it be from over-ethusiastic fans that kept going on about "the same price as a 1/48"?
