because 2 wrongs make a right. now i gotta find me some nice sized images to quote....that'll teach'em! -
please make sure to contact me if/when you decide to sell it.
-
yes, i too recommend "goo-gone" , its works wonders and doesn't leave a mess or harm the plastic.
-
talk about some flame bait.... anyway.... thursday looks to be the day, not necessarily the toy release date but atleast we know grahams review will be on schedule....one would hope? hopefully this will be gracing my shelves sooner than later....
-
nope they aren't the same, but choices are limited at this point. color matching is in the eye of the beholder. what may look perfect to me, might be totally off to another.
-
so they say... i know i ain't holding my breath!
-
nice, i totally forgot there are other toys outside of macross. heres a few with some SW lego.... damn it! how do you get them to be thumbnails instead of full sized pics? grrrrr....
-
some self posed pics are definitely in order but i'm sure graham took a bunch with his upcoming review, patience my young padawans. i don't get why you're complaining(for a lack of better word, sorry) about it being displayed on the launch arm? i believe this is first valk that can be displayed in battroid mode on the DYRL stand. personally i think its kind of cool yamato made the clip attachment for it. thats the one thing their stand was missing, you could display fighter and gerwalk mode but no battroid. on a side note, now i finally have a reason to open my DYRL stand after all this time!
-
enough with the repaints, yamato already has my nuts in a vice and they're only squeezing harder.

i would agree but the thing a lot of people forget is, the only people that would be interested in these toys 15 years from now is dudes as old as us. some kid thats 10 years old now isn't going to find his way to this hobby 15 years from now, i'm sure some might but the majority won't. we as well as macross will be forgotten by the masses. the other thing people tend to forget is, the majority of the people who are collect this stuff keep the boxes, keep the paper work, basically keep everything mint. its not like it was back in the days when everyone just threw everything out. i.e. just think about comic book market, i remember all the kids in my school that collected comics, they all had them in sealed bags with cardboard backings, buying only 1st editions and mutliples at that, knowing(atleast thinking) they would be worth something 20 years down the road. sadly, thats not the case. so many kids kept their comics mint throughout their middle/high school years, none of that stuff is considered rare anymore. not only that, but who's collecting the comics that came out when we were in HS? other dudes about/around the same age and they probably own all the ones you thought were going to be worth something. toy collecting is absurd....limited, chase, varient, exclusive, packaging, its all total BS to suck people into buying more stuff that won't hold any value. if every kid on the block buys a valk and keeps it pristine, whats it really going to be worth 20 years from now? all the dudes collecting SW stuff think that MF is going to be worth $$$$ like the old one but when 500,000 fans bought 3 of them each, why/how would it ever be worth something down the road?
-
yeah, i was just about to say....i remember seeing pics of it back in the day and it was freakin HUGE to say the least. just guessing but i think it would be about the size of a coffee table...alteast thats the only thing you'd be able to display it on. while i'd love to have it, it just doesn't seem worth it. the shipping alone from HK would be probably be around $75-$100(i haven't a clue, i'm totally guessing) and if that isn't enough, just imagine if the thing arrived broken? thats another $75-$100 for the buyer to send it back, then the seller would have to eat the cost of shipping out the replacement....i can't see too many vendors wanting to sell this toy, atleast not to the US market. if you go into the store and pick up it, cool.....but shipping it, hells no, it would be a total nightmare for them.
-
i doubt she'll find it there since it comes out on the 7th and its only the 1st. not to mention the shipping time from HK to the US before IA receives it. the only company stillt aking orers is maybe BBTS, i can't think of anyone else at the moment...
-
theres no price i can see, not that it matters since MSRP doesn't mean squat over there. i'm waiting for hayao kakazaki to post when he gets his. hes usually the first guy to get the newest releases and he pays the least compared to anyone else i know....i'd imagine his will cost about $130 or so, maybe even less.
-
first and foremost, i really hope someone here is going to make some better hands. outside of that, everything looks awesome.
-
they should just stick to different shades of grey and get rid of the green, it looks stupid and out of place.
-
all it took was a couple days and it got even uglier.
-
they will tax you if you walk in there to buy something, you're talking about buying from them online which lonely soldier boy is trying to avoid. i wouldn't know about image-anime CS as i've never actually bought anything from them but i know theres been a few complaints about them here in the past. while BBTS has received nothing but positive praise from anyone and everyone who's ever bought from them. IA like BBTS ain't winning any price wars but hey what do i care?, i buy my stuff direct from HK cause its a hellva a lot cheaper. getting back on topic.... i'm really gald yamato went the extra mile with the QC and tight joint issues. hopefully it'll be 1/48 tight and not 1/60 tight.
-
how about details that make sense, it actually TFs properly, heads that aren't tilted in some gangster lean, and no boner nose. the MPC alphas are the worst toys i own, they're borderline transformers AFAIC. maybe, one day, a real company will step to the plate and take on mospeada but as is, we don't have much choice but to settle.
-
getting back on topic, i found a pic for what i believe is the bonus valk they're speaking of... http://www.amenbo.com/cgi-bin/detail/detail-e.cgi looks like some ugly green and blue varient, if the valk on the bottom means anything. as far as the magnet action macross, i can't find any pics online but i'm assuming its like the other magnet action toys.... http://www.amenbo.com/cgi-bin/list/toys/figure/new16-e.cgi

good luck man, thats the hardest one to find because of those TV valks and regults. you could try asking howard for the regults(hes the one that hooked me up), though he hasn't been here in ages. i can't remember his handle right now, i think it was barba fatuina or something weird like that. he's friends with a few japan based members here, maybe one of those guys can give you his contact info...

heres a review i did on the bandai mission gashapons sets 1, 2, and 3, way back when. http://www.macrossworld.com/mwf/index.php?...c=12202&hl= i have all the kaiyodo stuff too but i didn't take any pics of them nor do a write up on them. i don't know about kaiyodo passing the torch to bandai but i know the kaiyodo stuff is totally different from the bandai stuff. the bandais were all made of vinyl and they were all fix posed figures sold in different modes along with a semi-cool detailed chase figure. mission 1 came with the tomahawk, mission 2 was the regult, mission 3 was the q-rau. the kaiyodo stuff was made of plastic and they actually transformed(VF-1's). it has removeable parts but for a VF-1 that small, its pretty neat. these also came with "chase figures" but i can't remember what came with what? IIRC, they did a really nice tomahawk, 1J and 1S in battroid, a 1J GBP, a really nice regult.....thats all i can remember off the top of my head right now. added: heres a group shot of a 1/48 1S, 1/60 1S strike, bandai gashapon 1S(3 in the middle and back), kaiyodo 1S's(2 on either side) and even a doyusha 1S(right up front).

hehe, i'm just messin with ya dood. but who knows?, you could be right!
-
if the color of the boxes had anything to do with future releases, i'm waiting on the "other" woodland camo valk to be released. you know the yellow one, cause there was yellow on the box. and wheres my M&M psychadelic valk? cause the M&M boxes had swirls and stuff which means yamato is going to make a valk using those funky colors....oh yeah!
-
i live in NYC and i doubt you'll find it other than at image-anime and they ain't got the best prices. you'll be looking at $200 or higher, plus 8.67% sales tax...even if you pay in cash. if you're gonna pay that much, i'd go with BBTS, you'll get better CS from joel than those dudes. the FP/FB will come together. the box art is okay, but i don't buy these toys for the boxes so i could careless. it would be nice if they just went back to the calssy looking black boxes but my guess is these are more eye catching on store shelves.

Transformers Super Thread 4: The Return
do not disturb replied to Dangard Ace's topic in Hall Of The Super Topics
LOL! as with the majority of the TF toys, you really gotta use your imagination....like a lot. when i first heard about a new jetfire toy i thought it was going to be somewhat cool but as is, i might as well make one out of lego, it'll probably look better/smoother than that sad excuse for a toy.
