i should clarify, the scheme is fine, its just the color choices for the scheme that displeases me.

HLJ blows. i ordered the aoshima dropship from them and they sent me a totally fubared box. for something that cost me $200+, i expect nothing less than perfect, both the box and the toy. according to HLJ policy, they don't guarantee box condition but sending me one where the entire side of the box was torn was a bit much. BBTS is awesome but why pay $20+ more than everyone else for a "warranty", if you're getting insurance for the toy when they ship it? kind of redundant if you ask me. if something wrong, you ship it back and get a new one. no one should have to pay $20 extra just in case they send you a lemon, that why you pay for insurance from the get go... i still haven't found the 19 at a price i'm willing to pay. its hard for me to shell out $200 when i know its retailing for $120 overseas. the store owner is paying wholesale for the toy(probably $60-$75), puts on his retail markup, then adding an additional markup for the US market($200). sorry but thats too many markups for this guy. ---> i love macross, i love the toys, but this is the kind of crap thats gonna get me out of it....

i would buy it! though it could use some meat since it looks like it trying to be americas next top model. edit: below is my opinion on the nora scheme... i probably wouldn't buy a canon version, i don't partcularily care for the color, it hurts my eyes. i'd get a non-canon color scheme though....

i had the same issue with my vf-0 until i realized that the thighs have additional joints/hinges. *added* heres a pic showing the area where the hinge is. it took me a while before i noticed it, i thought the legs were constructed the same as the 1/48, i was wrong. [attachmentid=38871]

LOL! you know whats funny, i had the same sort of thing happen to me this weekend. my friends and i were treking through the woods when we came up on a little stream. everyone was all, "lets walk around it" but me, and i was all like, "nah, you gotta be kungfu, you gotta skip your way across with the bruce lee steeze" so 1 by 1 all of them crossed safely using their new found kungfu skills, but when it was my turn to go, first step.....SPLASH! into the water i went. back on topic, you're almost done...well as far as the mechanics. i'd imagine the flight deck and tower is where a bulk of your time is going to go. i still can't you built this from scratch!

and thats why nobody should ever preorder anything from anyone. if enough people show interest by preordering, a seller/vendor can pretty much charge whatever he pleases. if you don't believe me, just look how much the YF-19 is actually selling for IN HK, as opposed to what its being sold to us for....

nah not me, i'm gonna display the 1/72's in whatever mode that the 1/60's isn't. i'd re-box them if they were yet another version of a VF-1, but i don't mind making some room for the macplus valks.

if aoshima made a diecast version of this toy, i know i'd buy it with no hestitation.

the only thing thats irks me is their chicken hands....why oh why can't they make some decent hands? either way, its not a deal breaker since i got some MG hands for this puppy already. now the only question that remains.... 1st run? or 2nd run? i know i've been against the 1st run but whatever problems it does have, seems to be an easy fix....atleast i hope so. i also hope they didn't have a stock shortage on these as anticipated by a lot of people, otherwise is not going to be a very merry christmas for some of us.

noobs j/k nah, he meant someone sold it to sebastian out the backdoor of the factory. i can only assume sebastian has been greasing a yamato employee with a few dollars to get his stuff at a discount and before the release date. so yes, the backdoor version is cheaper because it was totally stolen, but no theres nothing different about it. its the same exact toy other than the box is missing the Big West sticker....not really a big deal, its just a licensing sticker they put on every box......well except the stolen ones.
