don't know if anyone noticed this before but the gunpod soundfx changes from time to time throughout the TV series. in the first few episodes the GP sounds like fake gunfire but it sounded cool. then they changed it to what sounded like real gunfire and it sounded horrible. then they brought back the old GP sound for a while, then they changed it again to something totally different. am i the only one who noticed this? or am i just crazy?

i dont' think your ran it long enough, and i'm sure some poeple just didn't bother doing it. either way, it seems we as a whole buy a buttload of valks....we should really consider opening up our own account with yamato.
-
i'm not sure if he's still doing them but Anasazi37 also offered to do these back in the day. hit him up, you never know.

you can add me to that list as well. the right shoulder on mine is on the verge of breaking off. sorry if this has been answered but, is it just tht right shoulder that seems to be breaking? i opened up both shoulders and the left one was perfectly fine while the right one was totally FUBARed.

i think all the people that flaked out on the LV2 and GBP2 orders left a bad taste in his mouth and doesn't want to cater to this crowd. i'm not sure how many people flaked out but i don't blame him if thats the reason why he stopped coming here, i mean i'd be pissed too. anyway, i wanted to get my 19 but i never heard from him so i had to go with another guy. my apologies if you're reading this anthony but you know how bad valkaholism can get, one can only fight the urge for so long.

i've never ordered from actionHQ so i can't say but MW did have a deal with them a while back selling those 12" hikaru man dolls, i think it was MWs first banner ad/link/whatever you want to call it. i usually buy my stuff from Neova but he hasn't been around here much lately and i like sticking with one vendor (regardless of price), so i hope he comes by here sometime in the near future? as far as the SSL and BL, you know you don't have to read the entire thread right? all the names on both the SSL and BL are in alphabetical order on the very first page of each thread. BTW, sorry for the hijack quattroaction.

originally i used brasso and steel wool to remove the paint, heres the link.... http://www.macrossworld.com/mwf/index.php?showtopic=17535 then brian(GutsandCasca) came across this other stuff and apparently its a lot easier than my method... http://www.macrossworld.com/mwf/index.php?showtopic=19425 i bought the chameleon remover way back when but i still haven't tried it out. i'd already removed the paint from the stormshadow valk(the white one above) as well as my TV max and TV ben using the brasso steel wool method so there was no need for it. as far as which works better, i'd probably say the chameleon stuff(even though i haven't used it yet) since it doesn't require much effort other than letting it soak. and whatever the chameleon stuff doesn't take off, you could always use the brasso steel wool method. hope this helps, if you need any more info, shoot me a PM.

you gotta stay scouring these boards if you want to avoid bad vendors/sellers. the MW blacklist alone has saved me headaches on more than a few occassions. IMO, if one member has a bad experience with someone, that one less bad experience for me. as far as twin moons, its good too but roy focker said theres a trojan on there site yesterday so i wouldn't shop there until thats gets resolved.

right now, i'd say go with Los aka LAFtoys http://www.laftoys.com/index.php?cPath=1_1...2a2412034a3ddd3 hes having a sale on valks and the 1/48 prices seems pretty reasonable and a lot of people here have vouched for the guy. i'd say try to find a vendor in your area since the shipping is gonna be killer, but i can't imagine theres a lot of anime shops in germany..... added: tisinc is questionable. heres the most recent thread and there have been quite a few... http://www.macrossworld.com/mwf/index.php?showtopic=21199 why take the chance? personally, i'd go with a vendor who ISN'T on the MW blacklist.

^wow i haven't seen you here in ages, welcome back. mine would have to be the VF-1J, i blame that damn robotech intro thats been drilled into my head since i was a wee lad.

pics! [attachmentid=39476] [attachmentid=39477] comp pics [attachmentid=39478] [attachmentid=39479] the weathering comes out dirty and random giving it a more used look.
-
as if the oversized shoulders didn't make it look bad enough, the long neck/small head(however you wanted to preceive it) makes it look even worse. perhaps the 1J's should be displayed in fighter mode only....

a little paint goes a long way. nice job dude!

a little late to the party but i recently panel lined one of my valks using a mechanical pencil and did what could be considered "weathering". first i filled in every panel line using my trusty pencil, then used a soft toothbrush and brushed over the entire valk. basically the toothbrush lightened all the panel lines and spread the excess graphite all over the valk creating a dirty weathered look using a minimal amount of effort. the great thing i like about it is the weathering is totally random, giving the valk a more used looked as opposed to the painted model look. i'll post a pic tomorrow.

awesome as usual ghostryder, so simple yet so elegant. i was thinking of selling a couple of my doubles but looks like i might have to steal...errr borrow your idea.

IMO, no good thread stays on topic! i'm sure kensei will start a new thread when he wakes up. til then.... how much have you spent on yammies?
-
done! the only one i didn't do was the zero stuff cause i havne't gotten everything as of yet. also is there any way we can see the totals?
-
looks pretty nice dude! if/when my leg falls off, i'll have to do the mod as well. couple of question for ya how much time did it take to complete the mod? have you done stuff like this before, or was this your first time? and does it transform like before?

damn, you've only beeen here since october and you amassed all that! looking at that pic, i feel sorry for the guys who have low ceilings, i have like 11'-12' ceilings so i get to store the empties upwards. every box, full or empty is stacked along one side of my wall, i think i posted a pic of my "wall of shame" as i like to call it, i'll have to track it down again. -
haha, LKF you've been Hurinated! getting back on topic.... i can see your point but i see nothing wrong with it. for me, if i see the price jump on a item i own, i usually sell it. i'm not trying to buy dozens of these and hold on to them for 20-30 years, i enjoy them for what they are but if i see money making potential, i sell. i see no harm in "investing" a small amount of money on some toys, i like toys and i'd rather be making a tiny 10% profit and doing something i enjoy, as opposed to looking at the newspaper and checking to see if my stock went up...which BTW gives me no pleasure whatsoever, no matter how good my stock are doing...well thats a lie but its just not as fun. i mean, don't plan your retirement around toy investments but have fun in what you're doing and sell if you see $$$ at the end of the rainbow. getting slightly off topic, i know someone here that buys mighty morphin power ranger toys as an investment. i'm sure everyone thinking, "WTF! thats show sucks and so do the toys". well i don't think he buys it because he likes it but because he knows when the kids of today grow up, they're going to remember that show and be like, "oh, that use to be my cartoon, i totally gotta find some morphin stuff" and those people are going to pay out the ass for it like we pay out the ass for our childhood cartoon toys. i can't say for certain but i'm 99.99% sure hes going to make out like a bandit when those kids grow to to be our age.

haha, look who graced us with his appearance! this is just too rich, a guy who owns multiple properties throughout the CA area, $200K worth of toys, a ferrari and a lambo, but no digi cam...not even a camera phone. i don't know about you dudes, but if i had only the ferrari, i'd have about 1000 pictures of me driving it, parking it, standing next to it, getting head in it, etc etc etc. but LKF is so rich, he doesn't even need a picture, what with his helicopter and all, who bothers noticing some lame ass car! oh and then theres his plane....
-
i kind of see it as the same thing. i mean if i put the money i spent on toys into a savings acct, all i'd earn is 3-4% on that money, but since i started amassing toys, i've earned well over 4%. at worst i've earned 20%, the best i've earned 400%. not to mention its more fun doing something i enjoy to make some extra loot than just throwing into the bank and earning some extra loot.

Transformers Super Thread 4: The Return
do not disturb replied to Dangard Ace's topic in Hall Of The Super Topics
i tossin this out there perhaps they don't want to include a extended stock and barrel with megs since it'll make it look like a firearm even if its shipped in robot mode. you see a robot, then you see a shoulder stock and what looks to be a silencer, what would you as a customs worker do? as i said way back in the other TF thread, they can avoid the megatron gun law toy issue by packaging it in robot mode, but they can't avoid the gun issue if they include things that look like gun accessories... -
haha, i've had that dude on my ignore list since there was an ignore list option.

i dont' ahve a yf-19 yet but perhaps theres a way to fabricate a resin attachment piece that would lock down the torso section in battroid mode? maybe NB4M will be able to come up wiht something?
