  1. theres a 100 different brands of binary epoxy out there, i just buy whatever dries clear.
  2. well you could always buy a VF-0A and VF-0S, take all the good parts off the 0A and make a decent 0S. either way, my feeling is that getting a decent 0S is a crap shoot anyway because... [conspiracy theory] people with a bad VF-0S might pull the old switch-a-roo. they buy a new one, switch it out with the old one, return it, and no ones the wiser. [/conspiracy theory] but don't listen to me, i'm a paranoid delusional mess!
  3. keep in mind, they'll only reissue them if theres enough demand to warrant it. the problem with this is, theres still MAD VF-0S out there. maybe if all the stock sells out and people start paying out the butt for them(i.e. VF-1S Roy, VF-1A max) then they might go back to it but i don't think the plagued with problems VF-0S is high on anyone want list right now so..... with all that in mind, who says they'll reissue them with all the fixes? graham certainly hasn't mentioned anything regarding this nor anyone else. its all wishful thinking on our part, one can only hope they do, but theres no guarantee. afterall yamato isn't a "wish fulfillment center" as one member put it(i still find that funny). in the end, no demand = no reissue
  4. well the bright side is atleast you were able to fix it. as far as which glue, i only use binary epoxy. it doesn't melt the plastic in order for it to bond like krazy glue and the like.
  5. factory made supressor?!?!? i didn't know they made those, cool! then again i just play for fun nowadays. i was really into it for a while but being in NYC, i don't get to play as often as i like and the cold temps only allows me to play in the sweltering summers. either way, it sounds pretty neat(no advice which barrel to use) and you're definitely hardcore trying to play with the pump gun these days. i tried to play with just handguns once(sidekick and PT extreme, yeah they're old) but i got lint up like a christmas tree all day long. out of all the scenarios we played that day i only got one kill...it was only one but it was probably the most satisfying! and damn Deelux, that A-5 is looking AWE-SOME! reminds me of a futuristic heavy rifle, how many RPS you get out of that piece?
  6. i hate you! LOL! against my better judgement, i think i'm gonna try my luck with the toynami one, its selling for $100 plus shipping just about everywhere. plus atleast i know it'll be new whereas the old one MISB is out of hand expensive, zoinks! i'd rather fork over that kind of dough for a 1/55 VE or VT.
  7. sorry man, but if i started a new topic i would've gotten the... USE THE SEARCH FUNCTION NOOB!
  8. i haven't seen anything official as far as the price of the foldbooster kit from yamato but i have seen HLJ's pre-order price for it. but HLJ price isn't completely accurate since they make up the price as they see fit. i.e. how much was their pre-order price for the YF-19? i know for a fact that their pre-order price was a lot more than the actual price that the chinese and japanese fans paid. people keep saying "for $200 i expect more" but yamato isn't the one charging you $200, and its not like yamato can tell their vendors what to charge, thats completely up to each individual retailer. yamato is a wholesaler, they probably sell these for $50-$60 and put forth $25-$30 worth of effort into them, not $200 worth. peoples expectation should reflect the price that it costs yamato to produce these, not the price that sellers are charging you.
  9. bah, thats not what i wanted to read. damn it, i wants a voltron but the price for the classic one is a bit much plus it'll be USED...i hate buying used stuff, especially on ebay. maybe i should just hold out longer but i don't see anyone else getting the coltron license. whats up with this tread master version they sold out TRU? is that thing totally bootleg? is it decent? whats a good price for it?
  10. thanks for the info! longetivity eh? that doesn't sound too good. whats the deal with the plastic they used? is it of the same craptastic qualtiy as there MPC veritechs?, cause that plastic really sucked beyond the suckiest suck that could suck. i was looking at the old school ones and saw that there are many bootlegs and slight varients here and there, chrome, bronze, motorized, metal, plastic,.....its too much! also some of the old ones have all sorts of weapons and accessories which adds to the cool factor. i really want one but the classic go-lions are mucho $$$$$$ while the toynami one is $. as far as godzilla promoting the toynami version, i guess that makes a difference but i'm pretty sure greg doesn't play wiht his voltron in the slightest. hes all old like the rest of us and probably stares at the toy more than he handles it. i'll try shooting him a PM about it, i'm sure he'll give the toy a bashing if it deserves a bashing. thanks again
  11. i don't know why people are blaming yamato for the price of their toys? yamato are wholesalers, its the vendors who mark up these toys above and beyond what is MSRP. but even then, the fault lies on the buyer since buyers are the ones who place preorders for these toys without any knowledge of what the item truly retails for. i.e. a member got his YF-19 for $120 and walked out the store while were asked to pay $200+. i purchased my YF-19 in the secondary-market(meaning MSRP + paying a middleman) yet i was able to offer them at $175....makes you wonder doesn't it? in the end, whatever you say you're willing to pay, whatever price you place your preorders for, is exactly how much a vendor is going to charge you. who's fault is that? certainly not yamatos.
  12. the fuselage section is definitely nerve racking but the more times you do it, the easier it gets. its takes a little time to figure out exactly how much force/torque to use to split the sucker open, but once you figure that out(with practice and multiple tries) it works every time. i didn't sand down anything and i don't need to remove any screws to TF it, actually it TF's to battroid mode without any problem or fear of breakage. think of it like the first time you got the 1/60 VF-1, it took a while to figure out exactly how to "break" the fuselage away from the chest plate. its kind of the same thing with the YF-19. anyhoo fellas, i'm sorry to hear about all the breakage thats going on. it sucks paying that much for something and having it break within the first couple of days of owning it. hopefully graham(or someone) will find a way to offer replacement parts.
  13. well if they made it so the "nub" shown in part a(1st pic) would fit into a "slot" made in part b(2nd pic) it wouldn't be too bad, atleast it wouldn't be just resting there like they have it now. i htink it would also help keep the wings in a bit tighter... [attachmentid=39718][attachmentid=39719] i'll probably end up trying to make a grove in the torso for the nub. its sort of hidden so it won't be a total eye sore.
  14. this guy and Mech Tech should team up and make the ultimate SDF-1 nice find dude, even if its made of wood, its still pretty cool to make something of that nature, its definitely better than anything i could do.
  15. sorry to drag this old arse topic up but i needs your help! i'm trying to buy a lion voltron but which one is worth getting? most of the talk here on these boards are about toynami's voltron but i've read mixed reviews and don't want to take a chance with toynami if its going to be craptastic like their valks....excuse me, veritechs. any suggestions on which one is actually of decent qualtiy and worth owning?
  16. looks good and easy to do. you should hang here more so i can steal all your ideas!
  17. after reading the update by graham, it looks like this is one is going to be a bigger rip off than the YF-19. the larger size, complex design, and being forced to purchase a display stand isn't what i had in mind. oh well, no biggie seeing as mac zero isn't really part of my childhood nostalgia, i'll just skip it. all i want from yamato is a VF-1D, SDF-1 and the YF-21 to go along with my YF-19. anything else is a maybe but more on the side of maybe not.
  18. hey man i totally agree with you, no doubt these problems shouldn't exist when you have to pay out the butt for something. its unfortunate that they do exist but i'm certainly not going to sell my yf-19, i mean with all its faults, its still think its an awesome toy. i don't know about wobbly canards? i think you're doing something wrong cause mine are nice and tight. i know they are designed to turn in one specific direction. depending on which canard, if you turn it one way it doesn't sit flush but if you turn it the other way, its locks down nice and tight....perhaps thats the issue? the LG is not a big deal, it took 20 minutes to fix and thats only cause i took it apart, but theres is no excuse for the crooked GP, nuff said there.
  19. while i know bashing this toy(or any toy for that matter)is easy to do for an MW'er, you guys fail to mention all the cool things about it. with all the legitmate rants and complaints in mind, is there any of you who plans on selling their YF-19? i mean if it sucks so bad, why keep it? you could always just sell it and hope some other company comes along and makes another YF-19 to your liking, but even then you'd find fault.....me included.
  20. so got to playing more with my 19 and theres a few things that kind of irk me about it.... gerwalk mode kind of sucks. the upper part of the body doesn't lock down whatsoever, it just sits there resting on top. i understand sacrifices had to be made for the good of the cause(a good battroid and fighter mode) but i'm a big fan of gerwalk mode and its a big let down on the 19. it also doesn't help that theres no locks for the hips, i mean if you do any kind of posing, the legs automatically pop out(5mm slack) and you get a floppy mess. honestly, they could've made some kind of little locking mechanism to prevent this annoyance but no. the gunpod/forearm attachment doesn't make sense? you can't attach the GP to the forearm in either battroid or gerwalk mode...WTF? they made it so you can rock the shield in either arm but not the GP on either of them? you can sort of attached it to the inside of the forearm but it looks totally stupid, try it out and you'll see what i'm talking about. basically, your valk has to hold the GP at all times, except in fighter mode where it sits crooked...yay!
  21. i said tow hook, not tow bar....unless they're the same thing? you mentioned yours came with a launch bar... i always thought that particular part was called a tow hook since thats what everyones been calling it for god knows how long....though i could be wrong since my knowledge of planes is limited compared to yours.
  22. AFAIK, spyder stuff only works with other spyder stuff. all the other paintball companies make everything interchangable with one another, spyder kind of sucks in that way.
  23. haha, i made a silencer/suppressor for my paintball gun at one point, let me tell ya, it doesn't work for she-ott! while it might muffle the sound a bit, you forget that its CO2 powered which leaves a giant ass cloud of smoke which ain't that hard to spot in the middle of the woods/paintball field. unless you're using something that won't leave a giant ass cloud of smoke, its pointless and you'll be spotted like you're rocking a orange vest. in the 8 years i've been playing paintball i've discovered theres no such thing as "sniping" with a paintball gun. paintballs are imperfect, they tend to go where they want to go. thats why you have someone in your sights, you have to shoot off atleast 3 rounds, one as a tracer, the other to hit the guy, and the last one for good measure. as someone else stated, you can always buy a shorter barrel to mess around with but cutting down a good barrel is almost always a bad idea. i remember my friend tried to do some modding with his flatline barrel back in the days, what a mistake that was. he pretty much ruin the whole aspect of why the flatline barrel worked to being with. BTW, sidekick user unite!
  24. i just snapped the pegs and performed the mod. then put a dab of glue on the peg and screwed everything back. i don't see what the big deal is? it was glued to begin with, i just glued it again is all. it didn't hurt anything and my landing gears now work like they should. i still haven't done anything about the gunpod. i simply leave it off and it doesn't bother me a bit. its not like the 1/48 GP wheres its really visible. the yf-19 GP is almost hidden, its a non-issue for me at this point. thats not to say i wouldn't mind it being straight, but as is its no biggie.
  25. hey man, what did you make it out of? is it plastic or just a black piece of paper? looks kind of neat like that either way. the only mod i did was the rear landing gears. it took all 20 minutes and now my 19s LG's work like they should.
