  1. i'm just guessing but a standard 1/48 ships for $25-$30 so this is probably like $40-$45. HLJ is forcing their customers to use EMS shipping for high ticket items. its not a bad thing since it includes insurance and global tracking.
  2. people demanded it get made, said how easy it would be and how everyone would buy it, then they didn't. yet another example of why they shouldn't listen to people rambling on a mesaggeboard.

aren't you in japan? i don't know if this is asking too much but how about you get the parts for us? you already have a established relationship with yamato and i'm sure the surrounding toy stores in your area. i'll be glad to do all the legwork stateside to get them out to everyone.
  4. sorry if i missed it but has the shoulder issue been resolved?
  5. the thing with stickers is, you have some control how straight they are and all that, but with tampo printing you're just crossing your fingers and hoping you get one that isn't crooked/misaligned. then again, if the stripes were stickers, i'd want them to include an additional 2 sets of stripes for if/when they eventually peel off. decisions, decisions....
  6. well i thought it was legit for a sec but then realize that one scene with jennifer connelly standing at the end of the pier was from "Dark City"...which BTW is a great movie and worth netflixing.
  7. the nora scheme is "okay" but it makes it look like a transformer IMO. you know, weird funky colors that have no place in the robot/mech realm. to each his own.

i'm falling out of macross as is, even further from yamato if they themselves don't offer replacements parts. this whole you didn't buy from HLJ so you're SOFL policy is a bit much to swallow. i'm guess those "meetings" with yamato didn't do much good.
  9. nope. i'd buy a new paint scheme(by itself) but i have no real interest in that sorry ass fold booster or the weak ass FPs. added: if the price drops to $20 or so, i'll pick it up.
  10. HOLY COW! they're gonna ruin it! LOL! j/k i don't mind, i mean they got jennifer(i would chop off my own arm) connelly it. yummy! added: they better have the naked shower scene, i wanna see the goods.

you just answered your own question. why buy an inferior model when you can hold out for a better version?
  12. why is it that in all the pics i've seen of their legioss, they don't show the missile in the forearms? anyway the new pics look great, thanks Roger.
  13. is that the giant ass(i think 1/6 scale) powerloader i saw pics of a while back? or are they coming out with one in 1/72 scale? i'd buy the 1/72 scale but 1/6 is monsterous! nevermind, just googled it. looks like its going to be 1/12 scale.
  14. haha, but i got all of those. the 2 marines, the alien and the queen. i had to buy 2 APCs to get them all but i still want a pilot figure.
  15. damn them aoshima bastards! i bought the "02" version and it didn't come with anyone sitting in the cockpit. if i knew, i would've bought the "01" version instead...grrrrr!
  16. where did the pilot figure come from? did you cut the canopy off and insert your own figure?
  17. funny how when something comes out, theres usually a bunch of pics and threads but the stand alone ghost seems to be getting very little love. i forsee a huge price drop on this item.
  18. i have the picco z helicpotor, it doesn't do much but its still pretty fun to play with. i would suggest shopping around a bit, i paid $25 shipped for mine and i still paid too much.
  19. the only other suggestions i can make is NOT to use the clear/translucent plastic tubs. get some solid colored ones so it blocks out as much light as possible. and if you're going to put your toys in ziploc bags or something, don't seal them, just leave them loose and roll them up. the oil from your fingers and the leftover air in a sealed bag is not good for plastics. if you look at lego packaging, the bags they use have holes in them so the plastic can breathe a little. i really have no idea why lego does this but its gotta count for something, there must be some reason for it.
  20. i don't own much in the ways of diecast toys but what i know for certain is that diecast/metal toys can rust/corrode over time either due to oils from your hands and/or moisture in the air. i'd say the best bet is to clean it with rubbing alcohol to remove any moisture/oils from your fingers and toss in some desiccant packets for good measure. i'm not sure about putting into an air tight container seeing as even a well oiled handgun will rust/corrode over time. the above example would be fine for short term storage but i have no clue what to do in a long term case? i'd definitely do some more research before doing anything drastic. as i said i don't own too many diecast toys and i'm by far no expert in the field but i will add that i did the above for my 1/60 valks and so far(knock on wood)there are no signs of yellowing or anything else negative i can see. i've had a majority of them boxed up for well over a year now but who knows what they'll look like 10 years time?
  21. don't go with air tight. believe it or not if its opened and you touched it, air tight doesn't work. air tight works best when its straight from the get go. as far as humidity, get some silica gel packets and put them inside each toy box. this will absorb any and all moisture that seeps into the box as well as the air around it. i suggest packets for the individual toy boxes and maybe a couple of cans of it within the room itself. if you need a place to buy desiccant/silica packets, just google it. you can buy them in packet form or in bulk.
  22. well i hope it can pull off a few poses of some kind. i just see no point in buying a toy i can't really pose or play with. i know these are adult collectibles and the cool factor is there but its got have some kind of play factor too.
