  1. the 1D is so good but the virgin road is too good. you never see enough of those. i also gotta get crackin on the 1D. i've been talking about doing since i bought the captains kit like 2 years ago. hey kicker, post up the 1A miriya, thats a nice one too
  2. normally people would be suffering from new valk syndrome but it seems the SV-51 really isn't all that. my guess is its just not a timeless valk like the VF-1 and macross zero in itself kind of blew. it was only cool because roy was in it(alright the fght scenes were pretty tight) but if he wasn't i'd have no love for it at all. sorry if thats taboo but i didn't really care for zero whatsoever.
  3. thanks for the props! you are correct, i took all the red off a 1J hikaru using the steel wool and brasso method so you can handle it without worrying about paint scratches and such. you can save yourself a bunch of time and elbow grease by using the chameleon paint remover instead(its been posted here, just use the search and it'll come right up). overall the chameleon is easier to use than the steel wool and brasso method. for the FP's i used krylon fusion paint(it actually changes the molecular structure of the plastic and fuses the paint to it). i can't remember the color off the top of my head but theres not much of a color palette last i checked. i just took apart what i had to and sprayed away. it took all of 30 minutes for prep and spray time. trust me when i say this, i'm no modeler, not even in the slightest. i'm very much an novice at customizing and painting, i just follow the tips i've read on here and try my best to be patient when i take on a project. kurt, jung, and everyone else whos awesomer than me will tell you patience is the key to making yourself a nice custom.
  4. i found the threads but i think its missing a few pics. best of each mode http://macrossworld.com/mwf/index.php?show...t=0&start=0 worst of each mode http://macrossworld.com/mwf/index.php?show...t=0&start=0 back on topic.... i guess you guys are right as in you get what you pay for. a few people hated the bandai mission gashapons, they aren't great by any means but i still really like them.
  5. i am also happy to report i got a really good VF-0S w/ghost. as someone else said the shoulders were almost too tight and forget about the forearms, i thought they were going to snap! i ended up loosening those screws as well as several others that i had an issue with on my VF-0A(not shin). the feet click into position for battroid, no stress marks that i noticed so far, and most importantly it doesn't suffer from the droopy fuselage. i'm glad i waited as long as i did for this release. i'm 99% satisfied with my purchase....i'd say a 100% but i know i'll find something wrong eventually.
  6. its pretty sad considering you actually live on that side of the globe yet it still takes them forever. IIRC, the only thing i ordered from them was the aoshima dropship and APC. it got here fast but the box was all jacked, the flaps were torn, dents to every corner, etc. then i was informed that HLJ doesn't care about nor guarantee box conditions. basically i felt like they picked out he worst one and sent it out to me. i haven't ordered from them since.
  7. i like the white YF-19, it'll go great with my all white 'storm shadow' VF-1.
  8. EMS = 2 weeks MIB = used/broken toy sorry but after this recent fiasco of selling used/broken toys as new, toy-wave is blacklisted forever. nothing they do will ever change my mind.
  9. i had a similar experience with twinmoons when the q-rau first came out. people that placed regular orders got their order before my preorder, i haven't ordered from them since.
  10. ^ given the fact hes buried alive and 6 feet under, who the heck is going to free him? let alone hear him? hiro dished out the ultimate shaft IMO...the guy is literally buried alive for all of eternity. unless someone saw hiro bury adam or hiro himself shows up to dig him up, adam is pretty much f-ed. also, why do people compare heroes to x-men? especially when the show is nothing like x-men whatsoever...not even in the slightest of ways. but the characters have powers like the x-men, well so does superman so i guess this show is alot like smallville then? at first i thought this show would be really lame just like the x-men, but after watching the first few episodes, this show created its own identity, away from marvel, away from x-men, its almost completely original from my perspective. season 2 was pretty good and left a lot to the imagination. can't wait til 2008!
  11. i would agree with everything you said other than you're leaving out the most important issue...the price. if i pay $200 for a toy, i expect it to be near flawless and it should endure hundreds of hours of testing before it makes it to the factory for production but thats not the case with yamato recent releases. now if these toys cost me a $100, then half this stuff would even be an issue. honestly i could careless about making some simple mods/fixes or even a loose joint or 2. to me its all about pricing. if you're gonna charge out the ass for something, do it right the first time, not do it right later after you've taken everyones money.
  12. i dunno about the worst toy ever, but i started a thread a while back in regards to the worst mode ever. totoro242 (i can't remember the exact handle) shut it down with an alpha that was stuck between all 3 modes...it was literally the worst robotech/macross toy i've ever have seen.
  13. good stuff! my mangina has prevented me from taking such leaps with my toys. someone should move this to the customs section.
  14. when i switch from cocaine to crack, i'll pick these up. WTE = worst toys ever
  15. my guess would be that a HLJ employee lurks here, noticed the influx of hate from several people, he contacted whoever is in charge over there so a simple spark doesn't break out into an inferno. if you look for macrossworld on a map, you'll notice its in the center of the universe and everything else revolves around it.
  16. no reason for apologies my man! i'm almost always joking around. the way you know i'm being serious is when you see one of these at the end of my posts.
  17. if they make this toy with removable limbs, its like going backwards in time. i will in no way pay yamato ridiculous asking price for this toy if theres any kind of removable limb. i'm not really one to speak on anyone elses behalf but i think i speak for the majority of the community on this one.
  18. i said "a lot", not the whole continent nor a whole group, plus "a lot" has no real numeric value. where am i going with this? not sure. i've had plenty of good transactions with overseas vendors and i've had plenty of good transactions with US vendors. but like eugimon pointed out, US vendors don't act like they're doing you a favor when you're shopping with them, while a lot/few/many/couple/handful of overseas vendors do. sometimes a US seller might get the best of you but a US Seller is different from a US vendor. i.e. the seller "iwillshaftyou" on ebay might give you some trouble, but the vendor "ihavearealstorefool" on ebay will probably treat you right.
  19. i fixed it for you. US definition of CS = timely and professional service, usually willing to go the extra mile to make their customer happy. overseas definition of CS = untimely, amateur service, rarely willing to do anything to make their customer happy. i know we americans demand a lot of CS but overseas vendors provide very little if at all. i used buy exclusively from overseas vendors but my past and recent experiences tell me i should take my business to the US market. maybe its just me(and sorry if it sounds racist/stereotypical) but i noticed a lot of chinese as well as japanese people just don't care if they gain your business or not.
  20. the SV-51 is cool and all but it doesn't do it for me like the 19, i'd go with the YF-19.
  21. i dunno but $120 for a sort of poseable toy that doesn't do much of anything isn't really worth $120 considering the other yamato releases have tons of features and accessories. to each his own i guess.
  22. ^ thanks for finding that. thats the one i was looking for.
  23. considering the initial release of the q-rau was $120 or so, the prices on these aren't so bad... http://search.ebay.com/search/search.dll?s...op=1&fsoo=1 and yeah i paid like $120 shipped for mine and let me tell you, this toy is NOT worth $120 even if its the only q-rau toy out there.
  24. over a year or so ago, there was a prototype of a 1/60 scale monster that they featured at a few toy shows. i think due to the size and cost, it wasn't worth taking the risk of producing them. basically it would've run like $300(and probably $100 just for shipping) and you would need a large coffee table to display it. added: just did a quick search, my guess is this is what a 1/60 valk would be in scale with a 1/60 monster.
  25. pfft! thats the last time i plug your site. and whats this crazy talk about lame transformation of the VF-1? you know you're posting on macrossworld right?
