well if it retails for $350, you'll be the only one here buying one. nice try pal!

its a rather a flame-worthy statement seeing as a lot of sellers come here to gauge selling prices for macross product, both online and/or in their brick and mortar shops. i want to say this everytime something new comes out but it ends up starting a flame war with someone or some sarcastic member who will say they'd pay XYZ amount for something just to spite me. either way its cool, i won't entertain such responses from people and i also made sure i was rocking my flame-proof underwear today.

kind of off-topic.... just an FYI, but yamato frequents these boards and discussing prices only sets MRSP's for them and retailers a like. meaning if you say you're willing to pay $150 for something and others agree, yamato will sell it for $150....even if they had plans of selling it for $100. if no one says a thing regarding prices, yamato has no choice to be fair when setting the MSRP as well as the retailers. i.e. the GBP armor is $15-$20 (MSRP in japan) but because so many people here said they'd pay more...its now being sold for $40 by e-tailers and retailers all around. the same thing happened with the 1/48's and the same happened with the q-rau. i just thought i'd say something(again) cause were kind of dooming ourselves when we dicuss prices of up and coming products. its like me walking into a car dealership and saying i'd be willing to pay exactly this much for that car without knowing how much it really cost. i mean, what kind of deal you think i'm gonna get if i show the salesmen all my cards? the car is worth 10K but i said i'd pay 15K. what do you think the dealership is going to charge me? 10k or 15k? well thats it, i got flamed before for saying this and i'm willing to get flamed again. but realize its just more logical to say nothing regarding prices rather than saying, i'd pay this much for something? how much do you think it would cost? or even making a comparison to something that already exists. my point is, why help any company charge as much as it can for something?

king nor, the crappy paint job, the sanding and filing, and the 2 shades of red/blue combined was a -2. its the gunpod thing that brought the score down. yamato heard the complaints when the 1J hikaru came out, thats -1. they had a chance to make it right for the 1J max but they didn't, thats another -1, and then with the 1J millia, you'd figure they do something but they did nothing once again, thats another -1. they had 3 chances to correct the problem and they did absolutely nothing, hence the -3. sorry dude but not being able to attach the gunpod in fighter mode suck balls. as far as the not being able to notice the color differences....why don't you wait to see it for yourself when you have the product in hand. sorry dude but you looking at some pics, trying to justify your arguement, while you don't own something is just plain silly. wolfx, the whole arm armor is incorrect. it doesn't stay on the peg...it doesn't even line up to the peg. the cutout in the shape of the gun grip is completely off. it doesn't even have the chance to fall off, cause it doesn't go on at all.

What do you use to remove the paint on the 1/48s

how is it coming along? does it work? i want to know too.... i'm waiting to hear the verdict myself. its either flaming or praise...lets hope its praise. BTW toonz, katoots? an aquintance of mine suggested i go there...small world. -
don't even sweat it Zentrandude, its cool. some people are just like that. oh a just a clarification, there is no painted airbrake...isn't painted at all...its not suppose to be for the TV valks. it seems they used to different batches of plastic for the chest plate and airbrake. in doing so, they ended up having 2 different shades of red and 2 different shades of blue. the chest plates are darker shades of blue/red, the air brake is a lighter shade of red/blue....which kind of makes the airbrake flap stand out like a sore thumb.

corosive oxygen? dude theres oxygen in every box....theres oxygen everywhere. i hope you were being sarcastic?

well i got the super M&M's yesterday(thanks Neova) and i'm noticing a considerable drop in QC of the 1/48's. 1. i got white paint here and there....bascially its just a sloppy paint job all around...not very happy about that one. 2. some of the parts needed to be sanded down like the knee caps. they were uneven and rough along the edges, no biggie but for $180, they could've bought some sandpaper and made it right. 3. is it just me or did the arm armor get worse? not only does it not hold the gunpod, the grooves cut in the armor for the grip is slightly off and doesn't even want to fit in the position let alone hold it. this completely has me pissed off. 4. the air brake flap color is off from the rest of the valk. both for the max and millia's...WTF is up with that? how are they going to use to different shades of red/blue on the the most visible part of the valks? f-in ridiculous. i'm not nitpicking, but i noticed all these things while i was TF'ing them to battroid mode. no need for a magnifying glass here, you'll see the problems as soon as you opent he box and TF it. anyhow, thats it and i think i'll have to slow my roll on the 1/48 purchases. you'd figure the quality would get better as they continued, it did for a time but it definitely got worse with these 2 valks... all in all, on a scale of 1 to 10, both these are a 5....and thats me being generous. they didn't bother to fix the gunpod arm armor issue nor did they bother to check to see if the air brake and chest plate colors matched.
-
for sure! i still want one of those but i haven't really seen any nice ones. last time i saw a complete one with the box was for $140+...a bit to rich for my blood considering they're kind of small. thats actually not a bad idea if yamato decided to go that route. like you said, they don't TF so its not like yamato could charge more than $50-$60 for them. they could easily sell a conversion kit for more money and not have to go through the hassles of making each individual one. whatevs i'm smoking rock over here but a brotha can hope can't he.

just catchin up on the reading here....some really funny stuff....awwwoooowoooo! that one nearly killed me. okay my two cents.... perhaps yamato might slow their roll on the 1/48 line but they won't really stop making macross products. why would they? i understand, theres only this left and that left as far as dyrl/macross but they still have a ways to go my brothas. they tested the waters with the 1/60's then realized the fans buying them were willing to pay more for a bigger, better, more detail, more articulated valk, hence the 1/48. i don't think yamato had a plan for 1/48s when they came out with the 1/60's, it just worked out that way...for them and us. i believe in due time, this will happen to the other valks out there. the kids today will pay out the butt "tomorrow", just like we're doing for the VF1 1/48s and just like they'll do when their a little older. basically, they'll continue to make new stuff, and even if they make old stuff, they'll just make it bigger and fresher. they're testing the water with the koeing, seeing if anyone bites, and so far more than the majority of people here said they'd pick it up. they did the same with the 1/60 monster...guess what? some people were interested but they didn't get enough nibbles to justify production. the q-rau was another test, and we we're all pretty psyched when we heard and the news buzzed around for while, then yamato went into production. hopefully yamato will see good sales/profits from the q-rau, otherwise i don't see yamato spending more money to make another version...would you if you had a toy that failed to make a profit? back to the topic, i still say destroids and enemy mecha. i don't even care what scale, just as long as they make them nice. otherwise i'll take the CF. way off topic but i'd love it if yamato made a smaller scale diecast VF-1 perfect transformation valk....i'd be on them like white on rice.

hello again! i need 1 missile cluster please. i unfortunately broken those skinney pegs that hold the missiles when i was removing them from the box. and i just got the damn thing! friggin millia! i hate that #$%&*! i get it. but atleast i still wouldn't get sloppy seconds.
-
we're all the biggest nitpickers here, plain and simple. if we were a bunch of children, we wouldn't even notice half the QC issues with yamato OR toynami. but the fact remains that we are mostly adults here who want the most for our money. so that being said... toynami has yet to release a single veritech that would justify the $80 price tag. yamato has released several valks that would justify the $130+ price tag. the disliking of MPC's has nothing to do with HG or BW or really anything other than the quality and level of craftsmenship just isn't there. its like me walking into a Kia dealership and asking the sales guy why he drives a BMW. the answers real simple....they make a better car. yamato makes a better valk in comparison to toynami, therefore i'd rather have a yamato than a MPC. not because the MPC sucks but it just isn't better than a yamato. just like a Kia will never be better than a BMW.

do not disturb replied to do not disturb's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
exactly! its alright though this topic was off topic to begin with....i just had to get it off my chest. either way i cruised by there today on my way to work and it was gone. maybe the garbage men got it or maybe a member here saw my post and got it last night....we will never know? why couldn't i have found it today...its mad nice out today. -
no valks please. i'd rather have the other mecha....i dream of destroids and officers pods.

so i'm walking home from work today and i found this display case on the sidewalk left for trash. one of those glass enclosed joints, nothing borken, counter top high, sliding doors in the back, pegs to adjust the shelves, you know, the ones you'd find at a jewelry store or cellphone store.....what a find right? NOT!!!!! its raining out, 7 blocks away, the case is MAD friggin heavy, no one is trying to help(not that i blame them), and i live in 6 flr walkup. WTF!!!! this is the find of finds! i tried to get one of these wholesale and its like thousand friggin bucks! now its sitting out there in the rain waiting for the garbage men to pick it up. i think i'm gonna shoot myself now! those of you with cars and/or buddies willing to help, its located on broadway inbetween 179th st and 180th, in the middle of block, on the westide of the street. enjoy!

M.A.S.K was the shiznit! i had the iroc back in the day and the motorcycle too. that was a another cool cartoon that got cancelled along with silverhawks...my other favorite cartoon. i always wanted the sliverhawks action figures but they didn't stick around too long on the shelves, or atleast not long enough for me to save and buy them. fedmart? gemco? richway? dude, i never even heard of target til a few years ago let alone any of these stores. toy store wise, i knew of macys, TRU, KB, variety, service merchandise....oooh century 21. there was forbidden planet and FAO schwartz but you had to be ultra rich to shop in those stores.

To all Sledgahammer fans out there...
do not disturb replied to EXO's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
i don't even know why they cancelled the show? everyone i went to school with was watching it and talking about it the next day. maybe the humor was a little out there for back then? dunno, but i always thought it was a funny show. i actually forgot about it all together til i saw Jsarclights avatar from back in the day....i was like, where the heck did hhe find that pic? -

use to be one of my favorite shows. never did see all of them so it might be worth picking up the DVD. i remember the very last episode when hes trying to defuse the bomb and then proceeds in blowing up the entire city....what a great(non typical) ending for show. -
target sold alpha and cyclones? when the heck was this? target hasn't been around for that long have they? i had a bunch of cool toys when i was younger that i got(my dad got) back in the days. he would take business trips to china, japan and korea. he'd leave for 4 months at a time so he picked up some cool stuff to make up for all the time he was gone. it sucked he wasn't there but one luggage bag was always full of toys for me and my bro. i've gotten no good deals as far as vintage items are concerned, hence the reason why i quit collecting vintage stuff. i'll stick with the new and pick up an oldie if i can get it for a good price.

online vendors list
do not disturb replied to do not disturb's topic in MW Site News & Member Feedback
well i got the list going in the where to buy section and i'll keep upsating it as i get more info. Neova, most people here ignore the sigs for the most part, so unless your posting a 100 times day, it highly unlikely anyone would notice it. having the list of vendors, will make it easier for everyone, new members, old members, and for those special members who are too lazy to use the search function or look before they post. Blaine23, great pic! -
the C&D letters are gay. unpopular opinon.... if toynami can incorporate(nicer word for steal) some of yamato designs, i'll start buying toynami products. i doubt they'll ever be able to match the quality but hey, if i can get valks for $80 here in the states instead of paying $150, i'll take em.
