Lois Lane casting call.....
do not disturb replied to terry the lone wolf's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
shes smokin alright....too bad he can't act worth a damn. i think she and keanu should do a movie together and that way she could go into porn and keanu could just leave. i really can't see how they could get someone hotter than Kristen Kreuk to do the show? don't get me wrong, theres quite a few hotties out there but that KK makes me_____in my pants everytime i see her. -
I think Hell froze over. Anyways, it is just basic economic law of supply and demand and that sets the price. buurrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr its cold in here! i guess its official then, we kissed and made up.

D'OH! i forgot to mention the guys with the $120 and $125 price tags are both overseas. average shipping to the US is about $20- $25. but don't worry about neova or toy-wave they both provide excellent service and great packaging.
-
wow! i think this is a first but i couldn't agree with you more Hurin. who would've thunk it?
-
hey man, my buddy Max might have a couple 1S hikarus left? he was asking $110 plus shipping from the west coast...i'm on the east and it cost me $12 to ship. shoot me a PM if you're interested.

BBTS has them right now....for $169.99! a little too rich for my blood but heck you could be loaded! i'm not sure about the other sellers out there....maybe Neova has a few, you might want to check him out. he had them for $120 last time i checked....click on the "SPOT" at the bottom of my sig for a link to his site. otherwise, i check out toy-wave...i'm pretty sure i saw some there too? maybe even VE or TM but i doubt it since they feed most of the members valk addictions here. *added* neova has the 1S roy for $120. toy-wave has it for $125. bigbadtoystore for $169.99. that ones still killing me! valkyire-exchange has none. tmpanime aka twinmoons has none. i'd say go with Neova, thats where i buy most of my valks. toy-wave(ken) is really cool too as well as BBTS, but you gotta catch them when they're having a sale with that price tag.

For SALE Section needs some Rules!
do not disturb replied to Kamineko's topic in MW Site News & Member Feedback
couldn't agree with you more Kamineko. what really gets me is, when someone has absolute no interest in the item at all but decides to post his/her thoughts on the sale. it would be one thing if the person was actually interested, its another if they're just railroading someones FS thread and then call it "helpful advice". don't get get me wrong, i've done this in the past as well, only to have it done back to me, so i learned my lesson. i understand that sometimes FS threads do get off topic with witty banter we tend to exchange with one another but its all the other posting thats got my panties in a bunch. i definitely think there should be some guidelines and rules when it comes to posting there....and oddly enough, Kamineko was kind enough to PM with questions he had regarding my recent sale, following the "golden rule" which was much appreciated. i was more than happy to clear up any confusion but its much easier when people don't make public accusations on why they think they're being jacked or why they feel the description is questionable....again something i've done in the past to others but something i'm trying not to do in the future. anyhow, i think some new rules and guidelines are needed cause at this point, its a free for all in the FS section when it comes to posting. -
FYI, the search function on MW can be your friend! you have to pull the front langing gear down in order for the chest plate to slide all the way down. its kind of tricky at frist but you'll get after a few tries. if you want a permanent fix, you have to disassemble the chestplate section and bend the "diecast slide piece" a little so it slides nice and smoothly.

GET OUT! i thought HLJ stopped doing that. did you buy your valk from them? or another source? i can understand them hooking you up if you bought from them but someone else? i guess their back in action!
-
for 300 bucks i'd rather get a new TV instead....or 2 more valks. i really do like the koeing monster a lot and i mean A LOT! especially after the pics of it painted and shown in all 3 modes, its totally friggin awesome! everything about it screams BUY ME! BUY ME! BUY ME!

as i've said on numerous occassions now, please feel free to discuss prices or whatever your heart desires. its a free country, do what you want, i don't really care. i'm simply giving my opinion(just like you are) with logical reasoning behind why i think, what i think. *the prices i used in my example are completely fictious. i know nothing of the actual wholesale prices of anything....though i've been in working in retail as a buyer for the past 11 years of my life, but what do i know?
-
FYI dudes, yamato isn't charging us a thing. its the retailers and etailers that charge us. i.e. yamato can sell these wholesale to a retailer/etailer for let say $50. the retailer/etailers then come to this board or some other message boards to figure out the maximum amount they can charge. they in turn, take that info and mark it up to the max amount(lets say its $200) if they so chose. hence we got some expensive arse toy for no reason other than we can't keep our thoughts about prices to ourselves IMHO.

yeah, the q-rau is doing good but not at a $120. most shops in HK and the surrounding area aren't selling them for more than $80. only the folks in the US get the "special" price of $120. and you are not in the minority but i certainly wouldn't pay $100+ for a plain ol monster. how much do you think people are willing to spend on a robot that does absolutely nothing but just sits there? sure it might have some articulation but not enough that it would warrant such a high price tag. the way i see it is, the q-rau was the first and only toy of its kind, so i can see how yamato/sellers could somewhat justify the price since it is the only q-rau toy ever made. the $120 price is way ridiculous but hey, nobodies forcing anyone to buy it at that price. the monster(regular) has been produced as a toy 2 times, once by takatoku, and once by matchbox. in order words, its really not that rare nor is it the first of its kind. the koeing on the other hand is the first toy of its kind, so it could warrant a high price tag, but it shouldn't surpass the price of a non FP 1/48 IMHO. just from the comments/complaints alone in both koeing threads, theres no way yamato/retailer/etailer could justify a ridiculously high price tag. if they do, they'll be sitting on them for a long, long time.
-
nice use of the display stands. mixing and matching rods can make things more fun.
-
well i think the problem with that is theres no money to be made...please let me explain before you bust out your flame-throwers. now, its safe to say if yamato made a plain ol monster, we'd all buy it right? but how much could yamato charge? or retailers/etailers? meaning, they can't justify a high price tag since it lacks any real features. it doesn't TF into any modes, it just sits there like a robot with big cannons. how much would you pay for a toy that did nothing? personally, at 1/100 scale, i wouldn't pay more than $50 tops. so what the next move for yamato? "hey why don't we make the koeing monster? it TFs into 3 modes just like the VF's". and since it TFs unlike the Q-rau that we ripped everyone off with, we should be able to justify the price which should be around the same price as a non FP 1/48." now, i don't know if that was anyone exact words but i have a feeling it went something like that.

i got the best solution for this, don't buy DVD's. lately, i've been hittin up the library for movies cause its free, i can make a copy and its only a buck a day if its late. and you'd be amazed how many new titles some libraries have...also they got a bunch of CD's too, its bottleg heaven at the library.
-
you ain't lying, DAMN he got alot of TF's. i've been staying away from them cause my wallet is scared.

wow that looks great! i guess the main cannons are a little short after all but it still looks awesome.

to each his own. the LV was my first valk and i got tired of looking at the 1A head. it need a change is all. hopefully i'll get another LV and make it a 1S. hey yamato look at this custom vf-1j low viz it looks real cool hint hint hint. arent you intrested in making money. i only wish they'd listen. but as someone put it so eloquently before, "yamato isn't a wish fulfilment center". i don't remember know who wrote that, but it sure did make me laugh a lot! -
yeah the only problem i've really had with the FP kit is the RMS missiles....just like everyone who got a FP kit. they stay on for the most part but a slight jiggle...forget about it. i used the nail polish trick on one set of missiles and it worked out very nicely. i don't like doing that kind of stuff to my valks but i have more than my fair share of RMS missiles, so what the heck. BTW, the only thing i've really broken so far on any of my valks is 1 missile cluster(1J millia) other than that, i haven't lost or broken anything and i constantly play(gawk alot more) with my valks. you'd be amazed how durable the 1/48 can be...a few people have dropped it and not had a single thing break....lucky maybe but thats more than most toys would hold up to.

What's SYRL? And that's PRETTY DARNED COOL! yeah yeah yeah, the S key is right next to the D key. what do you want from me. BTW, i forgot to mention, the 6" stands work for the 1/48's and the 4" stands work for the 1/60's. *added* i forgot to mention the 2.5" stands work for the 1/60s and the 1/72s as well. there isn't as much clearance but it holds nicely. -
