theres no reason for the high price tag other than that what retailers/etailers are charging. yamato makes them, sells to retailers/etailers/distributors at a fixed price(distributors get slightly better price). they in turn mark it up as much as the market will bare. they get this info from fan sites such as this one and other price gauging tools like ebay so they can charge the maximum amount for the toys they are trying to sell. i.e. you ever go into a store and they got something for $100? then right down the street, another store has the same thing for $75? basically i don't blame yamato at all for the high price tag, i blame retailer/etailers. but hey, they aren't in it for the money, they're just fans like us right? personally, i buy from people/vendors who i know aren't making money hand over fist but doing it for the love....oh, and if they're having a sale or something. so to answer your question, there is no real reason that a 1/48 costs so much other than sellers are in it for the money.

the top layer is actually easy to peel off....i peeled the top layer off all the stickers for a 1/60. yeah its sort of glossy but it doesn't really bother me.

you might what to try out some citadel paints. its weird cause its not glossy or flat but somewhere inbetween....semi gloss? i used it to paint my custom 1J head and it turned out really well. not to shiney, not to flat, but matched perfectly with the rest of the valk.

Actually, I think using ELO, I would be more careful. It does infact eat away the plastic as I found this past weekend. not eat away but weakened it. I am trying to get emergency parts from fulcy to complete my VF-1A TV max, but I think screwed up with this classic white paint... too damn glossy. alright so i guess ELO is out, and brasso back in. BTW, what kind of paint are you using for your customs?

i believe it was i who said it would've been better off as a superposable. if they made one(as sad as most of the SP are) i'd probably buy it so i can get buck with it instead of having them sit there collecting dust as they're doing now. you just can't play with it, i mean its hard enough to pose a 1/60 from the get go, now you gotta work around this bulky armor? with a cod piece that keeps falling off(i scotched taped it). don't get me wrong, the GBP is ultra-fresh thats why i bought 2 but i still think i nice fixed/poseable version would be cool as far as playability goes. i guess if you want the armor you can play with, you gotta cough up the dough for the 1/55 GBP.

you'd be amazed how hard it is for people to be adults, to use logic and show respect to their fellow man. i was just conducting a sale for a 1J when all of the sudden someone comes in and posts, well your deal sucks. not those exact words but pretty much coming to my sale, taking a crap at the front door and not to mentio taking food out of my stomach. simply put, its not cool if i showed up at your business and started saying how theres a better deal somewhere else, you're getting ripped, oh thats so unfair, etc etc etc. its completely f-ed up so why do it to someone else? i try my best to live by the golden rule, not to say i'm prefect but i do try. and i hope other people will show the same respect that they'd like to receive in return and be logically when giving so-called helpful advice. basically, if you think something you post might piss someone off, it probably will....thats why we have the PM.
