  1. well soze's review was pretty good. i guess i shall wait til the price drops....i really think $80 is way too much money...especially now since i know you can't even pose the arms.
  2. well not the review i was looking for....but what kind of place do you work that you get to take a 2 hour lunch break to watch a movie? and can i have a job there? and $7!?!? i haven't seen a movie for $7 since the early 90's....its $9.50 everywhere around here.
  3. i can see some of the reasons why it could be bad but i don't think its going to be complete horrid. i liked the alien movies(well just the 1st two) and i definitely like the predator movies(yes both). so they've decide to combined the 2 to try something new. if it turns out to be a stinker, atleast hollywood won't waste their time with additional releases combining other creatures/monsters. i will watch it, then judge.
  4. for $175.....he can keep it. i've wanted the 1st edi. 19 for a while now but the prices are outrageous. if it drops below the cost of a 1/48, then i'm in. sorry but if i'm gonna spend that kind of money i might as well pick up another 1S roy.
  5. the yamato price and the HLJ price really has nothing to do with the "we live in the US so were f-ed price". after its all said and done, its going to cost just as much if not more than an FP valk.....and god knows how big the box is going to be!?!?!
  6. hey! its not trolling when you mess around with the RT site, its called having fun. trolling only occurs if someones knowingly posts some flame bait. either way, i just made a post there....nothing regarding a petition, more to sway the RT members to come here, buy yamato products(the word "yamato" is actually censored over there ) and actually have a good time and talk about the things they want to talk about, not what they're allowed to talk about according to RT's TOU. basically moving them to our side of the camp. *added* well that didn't last to long. my post was deleted....but not before some heads got to read it.
  7. it'll take me about a day.. that how slow the servers are to post anything... I'm better off praying in a church in Nicaragua, to get heard over there. Actually I was banned for flaming the guy that started this thread... weird huh... okay....then perhaps i should get a makeshift petition started over there. you....flaming.....nahhhh. if i can remember my user name and password, i'll stir up some trouble for ya!
  8. now i know why so many people like the kits....they look friggin awesome!
  9. its on page 12 of this thread but i don't know how current it is? added it continues on a couple pages after that but again, i don't know how current it is and why so many people are reluctant to participate?
  10. i wouldn't mind a bigger version either and i'm pretty sure you're not the only one that wants a detailed alpha in a larger scale. they do all this petitioning over at the RT site, perhaps you can get one started there and see where it takes you?
  11. they're called LOSERS! j/j sorry but you set yourself up for that one. I know that, but that can't be the whole lot... seriously, the majority calls them Generation-Y not so seriously, like "Y" did you have to be born? and yes, thats for the whole lot of ya's. j/j lordkungfu, one word for you "transfer". you got one nasty roomie.
  12. they're called LOSERS! j/j sorry but you set yourself up for that one.
  13. well thank god its reasonable, and now i got some time to catch up on other things before it comes out. i can't wait to get this sucker!

    BP8's

i got my backpack hinges today, thanks rohby! well let me start witha small review, first off, the flexible version leaves you with nothing to worry about. ay! forget about it. the hardest part about installation is removing the steel pin(BP7)and putting it back. i was all worried about breaking it cause the damn pin is next to impossible to remove. it took a bit of effort to put it back but i didn't have many tools to work with, so for some of you folks, it might be a breeze. well after that it was pretty cut and dry, screw this back in, screw that back in. whole process took about 15 minutes....not bad, not bad at all. i gave it the standard torture test with the FP's and it definitely held up to the challenge. anyhow, i didn't actually have a broken BP8, i just did this to see if they were legit and indeed, they are legit. i didn't purchase the super stiff resin version but i'm pretty impressed with the strength and durability of the flexi-version. thanks again for the excellent work rohby, my valks will thank you one day....hopefully not too soon.
  15. investing in real estate rocks if you move in at the right time and obviously the location. i live in NYC and the prices here are ridiculous now and has been for a while. which completely sucks because as soon as i actually had enough money to buy into something the prices skyrocketed...no thanks to the dotcom fad and every numbnut trying to claim there from new york. dudes move here from jersey/conn for a year, then call themselves new yorkers. its sad really. well it didn't take long for a studio that used to be $400, to turn into a studio for $1400. i found a phat spot on 5th ave in the late 90's for $56K but got denied because i was too young(only 21 at the time) if i had that place right now, i could easily sublet it for $1800+. i wish i was older just so i could've bought real estate in NYC back in the 80's when the city was hurting....man i'd be rolling in the dough right now.
  16. i'm not saying there isn't any risk but i'd much rather put $10K towards mutual funds before i invest $10K into toys. plus a bank isn't giving me a loan to buy a house/car/boat because i have the ill toy collection. of course anything can happen and i could lose it all, but the same thing could be said if i had a storage room full of collectible toys and the place burns to the ground. to each his own i guess, if i had a spare million, sure i'd buy all sorts of ridiculous stuff for no reason at all. but unfortunately, i haven't won the lottery and my plans world domination by holding the US at ransom hasn't panned out yet.
  17. i played this game at my friends house and it was cool for about 10 minutes. its one thing if i have to deal with the ringing if i'm firing a real gun but i definitely didn't feel the need to hear a fake ringing in the background of a video game. besides, in my(limited) experience, its the handguns that make the most noise. rifles even shotguns aren't as bad or atleast i consider them a different kind of "loud". i was shooting off my friends 38 and i was like "what? i can't hear you"...it was so friggin loud, everyone had to scream for a minute. then i shot off his SKS(a full clip) and i could have a conversation with him without screaming at all.
  18. i'm a x'er too, and i recently had to sell off parts of my collection to go to a wedding but after i get back, i'm ready for the next macross release. and while some people might think toys are a good investment, i'd rather put my money into mutual funds, stocks, bonds, etc...sorry but those are guaranteed payoffs while toys is somewhat of a crap shoot. every month, $150 goes into the 401k and $850 into mutual funds. i'd rather worry about my retirement and financial well being now, rather than trying to sell off a bunch of toys when i'm 60 something so i can eat.
  19. indeed, the machine ain't worth shight. at best its decent against zombies just because you can fire from somewhat of a distance but i prefer the shottie....but hey, the chain gun ain't too bad either. the pistol seems to work the best for the spiders...as long as you got good aim, its one shot, one kill. the games pretty straight forward so i don't have complaints about getting lost or going the wrong way but changing the right click(mouse2) into the flashlight was a must.....i was getting rocked for a minute cause of that. i should be finished with the game in a couple of days, i'm trying not to kill it in one sitting. good stuff! and mad free! as far as the techie issue goes, i have a little story to put these people in place. i was working for a dotcom a while back and we had a so called "techie" there. well as with most techies, he did come across arrogant at times and definitely thought he was the man...so i had to teach him a lesson. so i wated for him to go to the bathroom and i simply loosened the plug to his keyboard ever so slightly, it was still plugged in enough so he couldn't tell, but enough that there wasn't a connection. so me and the rest of my office watched him go nuts for a good 30 minutes trying to figure out what was wrong, banging the table, the computer, his head. by the time he restarted his computer the 7th, i could tell he was about to go postal and everyone in the office was shaking from laughter trying to hold it in. so i walk up and say "whats wrong dude?" he replies, "cheap ass f-in computer won't start and i don't know whats wrong with it?" i'm like, "well i'm no techie but let me take a look." so hes all like, "whatever man, you ain't gonna figure it out, what do you know about computers, you're the buyer here." "let me just check one thing, i got a trick or two".... so i plugged his keyboard back in and his computer started to work but by that point, i couldn't keep a straight face and the whole office, inlcuding the CEO of the company was rolling, even our humourless 55 year old CFO was dying. well, that pretty much put him in his place and he chilled out on everyone after that. office pranks...good stuff!
  20. that looks pretty cool...too bad its a 1/55 mod, a 1/48 would be the shiznit!
  21. magnets work if they're used correctly. i use some neodymium magnets to correct the floppy arm problem on the 1/48's and they worked like a charm. the problem is the morons they got working in the toynami factory used some weakass magnets and didn't even bother to line them up correctly. whatevs, i don't own any MPC's anymore, so i got no real complaints. heres the thread with pics for you non-believers.
  22. well i got my bootleg copy on thursday and i've been enjoying the game quite a bit. i'm playing it on the hardest setting and i must say i'm getting ambushed like a mofo. watch your back...
  23. you got 3 choices... 1, don't take a chance and pay the high price now($175) 2, keep your fingers crossed and hope for a re-release($120) 3, pay out the butt later cause theres no re-release($175+) personally, i don't like keeping my fingers crossed and hoping for a re-release nor do i like having to pay out the butt. so i say, get'em while you can, cause theres no guarantees. these are just my opinions, so feel free to disagree but please don't argue with me.
  24. i'd go with the 1J hikaru simply cause its on sale for $140- over at toy-wave.com. i mean why pay $180+ for the max or millia when you can pay $165 shipped for the hikaru? get the one thats cheaper now, and wait til the M&M go on sale at some point. as far as the QC issues...like with any other toy out there is sort of a crap shoot. sometimes you get a really nice one, sometimes you get one that isn't as nice as it could be. the 1/48's are pretty good overall but the 1J hikaru was made before the M&M's as the molds get worse with each production run. these are just my opinions, so feel free to disagree but please don't argue with me. *added* the TV FP's are fine. one common problem is, the TV arm armors won't hold the gunpod straight out of the box. its no big deal as it takes about 10 seconds to fix the problem but its something to be aware of. yeah it sucks having to "fix"(if you want to call it that) an $160+ toy but it really isn't that big of a deal.
  25. whatevs, you're shiet look hot!!! i'm loving the paint scheme you chose, very cool, very original. i should pick up a bunch of 1/60's just for customizing....when i have some loot to spare that is. as far as the paint job chipping, theres nothing you can really do, its gonna happen no matter what you do. i'm no expert, but you can try to apply mass layers of clear coat? perhaps someone with alot of custom 1/60's can jump in and help. regardless, your valk = hot!
