Journalism at it's finest: (concerning Predator) "However, he did not appear in the film’s sequels." Reehheeheeaaaally? He didn't? They couldn't retcon his skull and spine not being ripped from his body in the sequels?

IRL the bombers were hounded by Hurricanes, while the Spits dealt with the escorts Pardon my french, (and for going off topic) but WoWP is the shitiest plane game around, it's so bad, even the scoutplanes in WoWS look better I went from WoWP to War Thunder, which I thoroughly enjoyed, until I got into the Simulator battles of WT, then I was really bitten Unfortunately, not many people play(ed) Sim battles, so I went looking for an alternative in which I didn't have to wait in line for hours and found it in IL-2 "Cliffs of Dover", And it's another step above WT in simulation realism Setting up gun convergence, compass, opening rads (I've blown quite a few ), actual engine startup sequence I have been strafed on spawn, ....or emptied an entire fueltank without ever seeing an enemy plane It's aircraft are limited, being Battle of Britain era it's 109e1 e3 e4 e4b e7n, 110 c2 c4 c7 , he111 h2 p2, ju87b, ju88, spits I ,spit II, hurris, blenies and the Italian g50 Being abandonware, but resurrected by a devoted group of fans (Who improved upon it immensely from the wreck it was at release) it was a bit of a chore to get installed (but got great help from the people on the Air Tactical Assault Group ...of course it came at a price (apart from the 10 bucks on steam), forget using a mouse, you're gonna need a joystick WITH rudder function I'm flying with a separate stick/throttle/rudderpedals setup and also am using a self-built headtracking system, not to mention mic since communication is key in getting in on where the action is (and warnings when there's a 109 on your tail)

That looks pretty cute, any pictures of the Grey Ghost?

Hmm, don't care much for the "HiFi" but the lights could have been done a lot worse But at 800 limited, it's gonna cost a friggin fortune, and not even a transformable f0rtune at that

For me it was a combination of a steady, decent paying job, living at home, no financial responsibilities, the advent of online shops and the low prices 1/60 and 1/48s commanded when new

Ghost in the Shell Live Action - March 31, 2017
Nightbat replied to Mechinyun's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
The only thing Hollywood takes seriously is money, and being creatively bankrupt are trying to source material from other means of entertainment Seems like GitS (being a 'success' amongst anime) was made to test the waters if this niche market could be exploited (exploited in the business sense)- 751 replies

Ghost in the Shell Live Action - March 31, 2017
Nightbat replied to Mechinyun's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
Well, being acquainted with the certain circles where outrage is created at the drop of a hat, this has flown much more under the radar than "Exodus: Gods and Kings" I think looking at it more realistically, if GitS didn't have Johannson, it would have probably done worse in the west- 751 replies

Well, it isn't unexpected that the philosophical side of GITS would end up on the backburner in a Mainstream adaptation- 751 replies

Ghost in the Shell Live Action - March 31, 2017
Nightbat replied to Mechinyun's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
Nope, still not feeling Scarlett Johannson as the Major, too short/stocky (Tho I must admit, Shirow's drawn depictions of ladies aren't the most healthiest)- 751 replies

Not to scale, gaudy paintjob, looks like a $25 vinyl kit with leds to entertain 5 year olds (would have been cool if done better like that custom) ....nope sorry, not interested

FWIW, what I heard was that it was more a tactical decision to secure flanks, consolidate troops and resupply, seeing the Germans just were just given their first stiff resistance at the battle of Arras, this sounds plausible enough for me

Ghost in the Shell Live Action - March 31, 2017
Nightbat replied to Mechinyun's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
Meh I'm not feeling Scarlett Johansson as the major First of all, I can't shake the "Hey, that's Natasha Romanoff" situation, her role as Black Widow being way to current Secondly, whenever I think of 'a' Live Action Major Kusanagi, someone along the lines of Charlize Theron in Aeon Flux comes to mind (though it does not have to specifically be Theron)- 751 replies

Just found this anime by accident, been out of the loop for quite a while, but felt pretty smug that I immediately recognised Mikimoto's character designs since I missed the whole Attack on Titan craze, I'm pretty sure it'll be entertaining enough

The Cathedral of Speed: Dutch TT track of Assen And yeah, that "keeping it upright" was pretty hairy on the second day, luckily, knowing I wasn't gonna set any records (and unsure about the weather), I had not opted for Pirelli Supercorsas, but was running on Michelin Pilot Power 3's unlike some other guys in my group Like the guy on the R1 in the second to last pic, he at a certain point became afraid to even take corners, because his back wheel went everywhere when turning in or pouring on the throttle Another guy running the SCs totalled his bike one corner before the finish flag I quit after the warmup lap of the last session, I was starting to lose confidence in my grip in the fourth, and decided to at least do the warmup laps and if those didn't feel right I rather throw away a session, than my bike, I still had to go 160 miles for home the next day Ouch, too greedy? Or one of those "Unexpected sudden loss of grip" moments?

Well, did my trackdays Was lucky on the first day, riding between the showers on mostly dry track, fastest lap being 2:29, not bad for my first time there (and 9 years since last being on a track) Second day, not so lucky, though it weren't the pouring showers of before, it simply was constantly wet, no talk about leanangles, fastest lap 2:54 Track Photographers did a sloppy job, don't have any copies of the pics a buddy of mine made (which were more amateuristic, but showed a lot more ambience/atmosphere) but here are a few pics of those 2 days In a small form of irony: The bike held up great, mirrors and license plate off and she was the same superbike she was advertized as 10 years and 45000 miles ago when I bought her but putting the beasty though her paces did end in a leak somewhere in the headgasket which revealed itself luckily after I got home But since all my savings went into getting her and myself track ready (biggest cost: the suit) I'll have to postpone repair until I managed to replenish that money

I just reread 8 pages, if you had claimed most replies were about the trailer, reviews of youtubers, or discussion about the agenda behind GB2016, you would have been correct Most, if any discussion about casting and the characters took place on page 2
