  1. Keith's answer is the "Correct timeline" answer where DYRL is not a new "Movie"version of the series, but placed in the Macross timeline as a Documentary (in other words: a movie within a cartoon ) Real world answer With DYRL, the designers (Kawamori) had the time to rethink alot of aspects of the Valks including the controls and most of the DYRL designs were accepted as standard (canon) this was later used in the various s/pre-equels
  2. Those were my thoughts exactly this was in a time when people though steampower was still the way to go (over in England, they still think it is) and remember, it was the first movie to feature a Queen soundtrack
  3. When will the hurting stop? ...financially that is me want, me gotta budget, me no possibility to stow away extra cash seems like I'm gonna need a second job
  4. Looking at what I have the most of, it would be GI Joe at least those figures were cheap compared to transformers even the larger vehicles were cheap compared to some of the bigger or combining TFs also a high playability value But before GI Joe, lego was the Shiznit, give a kid a lego box and see him go Wild! (well,... Me anyway!) Looking at Lego these days they are still great kits, but the price is getting way too ridiculous Honorable mention: M.A.S.K. Starcom Matchbox cars (Why I didn't list Macross: except for Jetfire, no Macross Items were available when I was young, I'm making up for that now)
  5. ...sometimes I wonder...
  6. Well, I seem to have gotten it to work de/reinstalling my codecs including a WMP update) BSplayer seems to work the best for this anyway, I'm done, thank you very much!
  7. Old news (or conspiracy) this was asked just a few days after 9/11 (and was posted on the old board, only not as a FLASH page) Now the pentagon is a BIG building, so any damage you see is much larger than it appears But I never did understand why there weren't any parts of a plane to be seen ...but I also don't understand why pigs can't fly or I'm not rich yet
  8. Mods close when done anyway I was watching Yami to Boushi to hon no tabibito when I reached the 10th Episode, DivX player went on the fritz and only gave me distorted image BSPlayer and Windows Media Player went in error and closed down same with Ep 11, 12 and 13 I installed probably every codec pack I could find the past few months (Nemo, Tsunami, Kazaa, Ffdshow) so I'm kind of stumped,... but I definatly want to see the end of this series (already started downloading the last 4 Eps,...just to make sure) could you guys offer any solutions or point me in the right direction?

  13. Although nice to hear, I see one SERIOUS problem: my Japanese is a little..... non-existant
  14. It came within 5 days unfortunatly when assembling her hips and torso I broke her head off with a little improvisation and parts of a CM's Figure stand I managed to give her a new peg in the neck (since the head only turns) posability is limited and she's HUGE (threw in a very bad pic with 1/60 valks in there for size comparison) for a €30 DVD + Figure she's well painted (Mahoro she ain't) and worth a worthless Japanese-no subtitles-DVD well here are the (again) crappy pics
  15. Not only that but you can buy back a ship whenever you want (the Defiant is a very good starship killer) This is what Birth Of The Federation should have been!
  16. how the hell do you warp to another sector, I press the planet,..nutting happens
  17. Cool you can beam redshirts into space!!!!!
  18. then in this case: Size Does matter
  19. Strategic bomber was also what I thought when I first saw your old design, though it missed the "bulk" and size associated with the term loading it with just torpedoes probably would decrease it's overall payload then again, I don't really know your designs and the way they are used in combat (Being in space, able to strafe a large ship from all sides does allow the use of upward targeted torpedoes) if your design as a bomber is equal to that of a ww2 Torpedoboat it would justify the launchers, it al depends on how you define the term "Strategic Bomber" Your new design has much more "speed" to it but, as you mentioned: part of it's role is to take out capital ships, so it's obviously designed to be a more manouvreable craft
  20. If Yamato is smart they'll wait 2-3 years for another re-release that way even the ones who completed might think of picking up the early 1A's with the improvements, not to mention the occasional cat/kid catastrophy I see a larger market te moment a new series starts anyway
  21. Made a little Photosoup, though Proportions are WAY off and the engingstruts are still too small, engines should be more slender and the cockpit may needs some redesign but....
  22. I see Godzilla becoming a rich man
  23. The old design has alot of potential extend the engine struts, increase the engines (/payload) size, keep the cockpit relatively small, and you know you've got a mailman ready to drop heavy and large quantities of parcels
