  1. HWR's got it...I was really impressed with how easy it was once I got it figured out.... I mixed up a dark grey with a touch of brown in it... and used a superfine brush to put it on. It was funny, because I would met my hand shake a little around the edges to amke the chips more random and natural, but had to take alot of breaks cuz my hand would go numb...
  2. I'd also love more FoS:Dougram stuff...!
  3. Wow...wonder where those wooden mock-ups are now..
  4. I'm surprised we haven't heard anything new either... And yeah, a Mospeada Ride Armor figure would be incredible.
  5. Haha HWR, yeah, your chipping more than inspired me... I l=studied yours a bit to get the feel of how it should look and it helped me alot... finally got chipping to look natural!
  6. Sean, how is you have enough money to get this beast after just getting the Leo? It is downright unfair... IAD, your efforts are utterly astounding and clearly quite rewarding... I'm speechless.
  7. Hate to double post, but I've got super awesome progress on my 'Hawk... HWR still managed to beat me in the end, but I love working on this kit... Here's a teaser WIP shot... all that's left is mostly dry pigment stuff... scorching and barrel blackening, and to dirty up the feet... gonna treat the underside like a tank tread (lots of earth colored stippling and some mettalics.)
  8. It's Mike's 1/72 Monster... one heck of a kit...
  9. My mom called me from Target asking if I wanted some new Robotech movie, and I had to quickly explain to her that it wasn't worth the plastic of the DVD...
  10. Gonna emphasize that... noone is saying some people didn't get worse units than others, but honestly, what is all thius complaining accomplishing? I would be much less annoyed with these threads if there was any constructive criticism in them... so far I''ve just seen ALOT of battying and moaning without any sort of end point or contrsructive comment to offer... And honestly, some of the louder complainers (not you eugimon) have just at this point delved into immature attacks and rants about things they know nothing about and are just looking for more to complain about (I point you to the "Price Gouging" thread, where NOONE is yet sure who they're complaining about... ) Seriosuly, if anyone had anything positive or constructive to offer in any of these threads, the us 'Yamato Defenders' would not still be trying to shut everyone up... but at this point, I think the whole board is getting really sick of nothing but incessant whining to no end... there are problems, yes, but simply complaing doesn't get us anywhere... At this point, these really ticked off owners should be past bickering and moving on to find a way to deal with their problem... either by returning the toy or finding a replacement part or a way to fix the problem (which we have a huge thread for the 19 about but it seems not nearly enough of the whiners are finding...) I understand and emphasize with someone upset about a flawed expensive purchase, but by now, we should be able to move beyond jsut pissing and moaning about it.
  11. We've got an all Linksys setup as well and it works great!
  12. After seeing the Protect Gear figure from Jin-Roh, someone should find a way to get Dragon to make the Ride Armor
  13. Gosh, the Monster looks so slick next to the other 'Roids... I must find one!
  14. I must admit, while I really want a new highly detailed RideArmor toy, those pics do the same for me Guppy... show us nothing new or improved. Even the hands are still big chunky 80's mecha hands... what the hell? And I agree, we don't need any more Legioss toys, just release a fricken Tlead...
  15. I must admit I'm a bit baffled by the pricing for the FP set vs. the boxed set... thing is, I really wish they would do just an FP armor set without the FB, cuz i don't need it... but I'll end up buying the set anyways for the armor... bah.
  16. You know what? I know everyone says how horrible the MPC Legioss/Aplha is, but I just got my first one today for real cheap, and aside from the fact that it needs new hands (one was already broken when I bought it) it really is a fun toy. I can see possibly replacing the shoulders with a new joint and trying to make a boll joint for the hips (a much bigger maybe) but I really like it and have been playing with it all afternoon...
  17. I can't wait to see the final touches on that beast... but seriously, how long did you work on the 'Hawk last night to totally finish it???
  18. Good crap Sean... how'd you pull so far ahead in one night??? That is simply gorgeous looking... far better than mine all of a sudden How'd you do all the scuffing and chipping? It is spot on! There's plenty to do on mine, its only recieved one oil wash, mostly for the rivets and lines. It's still gotta get actually weathered, and then all the little funky details, like the other clear parts, metal foil for the lights, and a little more work on the ankle piston joints which I kinda messed up one of... I spent alot of time on the cockpit tub, so that must be where I lost so much time to HWR... I even added HUD displays to the clear screen...
  19. I've always found VLC Player with some various codec packs to be the most comprehensive media player around... I love it and wouldn't use anything else anymore.
  20. I've never gotten too worried about the ruining a $100+ toy after my first attempt... all it takes is some patience and planning... the thing that I love about it is how much more rewarding a completely awesome toy is after you have personally made it work and/or look so nice...
  21. Hmm... sounds like Im not gonna have a fun time ordering vol. 2-4 now...
  22. I haven't seen SC and probably won't bother... but i just wanted to chime in after Nied, the "From the Stars" comic is probably the single best piece of semi-original material Robotech has spawned... if you didn't like Mac0, then it's not a bad prequel story, and the art is kind of fun compared to the current HG 'style'...
  23. Haha, actually, I enjoy working on them... I just finally bought an MPC Alpha, and I'm planning out what will need fixing before it's even arrived
  24. Haha, good to hear. I take it last night went well then? Pics to come this afternoon I think...
  25. Forgot to snap any pics, bt my Tomahawk just went into weathering... did the initial oil wash and cleaned it up. I want to try the recently developed (I think) technique of applying oil paint dots and blending them in with clean thinner to add surface variation and really gorgeous weathering...then down and dirty for he real dirt part with some seious pastel work. I'm excited... try to get a pic up before it gets ugly
