I like the heavier looking machine gun that comes with the E-Zaku. The heat hawk is way floppy bc/ it's so thin, so it's worthless, but the bigger looking MG looks great. The only other thing is that the right leg missile launcher doesn't quite fit on right bc/ the strap parts isn't quite long enough. The figure is amazingly posable tho, and finally gives the Zaku the expressiveness it deserves.

Balls. Someone needs to make a good BS then.

Hey Graham, I know you said the MF Blood Sucker was bad, but really, how bad was it? You and I both hate PVC toys, but I really really like my MF Turbo Custom...

All right, so I just watched The Last Red Shoulder sub that was posted: The video quality isn't horrible... it's not too fuzzy, but more just washed out looking. It's sitll more than fine, and holds up in the action and such. The subtitles are great. I'd really like to know where they came from, and if whoever did it plans to do the others, bc/ they're really on par with the CPM subs of the series. LRS fits between the first two chapters of the series, Uodoo and Kummen Jungle, and, without any spoilers, explains Chirico's dead time between the two that is only briefly mentioned in the series. However, it also gives us a better hint into the content of the new series that could easily be missed just seeing the series... Perzen is the Red Shoulder founder, so I'm thinking the new stuff will just be some rediculosuly awesome Red Shoulder whoopass. I could watch a whole series of just unreasonably awesome Red Shoulder missions... And after seeing LRS, I REALLY want a good Bloodsucker toy. G-man said he's handled the MF figure and it's far worse than TC figure, so I'm really hoping for a Yamato one or even a Takara one... and yeah, the TC kicks SO much ass in LRS.

Ha... we're just sort of passive, elightened haters here at MW...

That does seem weird about Hk not having alot of VOTOMS stuff... kinda stinks for you too. After finally getting ahold of the series, and the incredible surge in VOTOMS toys, I must admit, VOTOMS is quickly becoming my favorite anime... (blasphemy, I know) While I know I'm probably the biggest Yamato VOTOMS toy supporter here, I must admit, that while I HATE Microman figures, with the newest pics I've seen, I'm kinda becoming interested in getting one DMZ figure... I'd really like for a Tortoise/Trutle variant more than anything... I've got PLENTY of Scopedogs... I also want to pick up a model kit or two, just so I can have basically all the scales besides the little tiny 1/144 trading figures. I also just finished the details on my MF Turbo Custom... with some extra Gundam decals, some hand painted markings, and some nice heavy weathering to blend it all together, the MF figure really looks impressive... Now to get around to painting my big Scopey... I decided to wait until I get an airbrush, which hopefully might be for my birthday this month. I've got alot planned for it. And one more time, does anyone know where I can get information about the venerated Volks resin VOTOMS kits?

Interesting to hear about your MF figure Graham... I have none of those problems except the left knee will come off if bent too far. I was really impressed because, like you, I really don't like PVC, but the details are crisp and square on this figure, but my joints are nice and tight as well. Just that goddamm head sculpt... my favorite Scopedog images are ones like on the cover of the Kummen Jungle DVD, whcih ash the shoulder pads and hear around the same size (ie, slightly enlarged shoulder pads) and makes the dog look much better overall. In other news, does anyone here know anyhting about the Volks resin VOTOMS kits? I've only heard about them, and usually in hushed, venerable tones I'd like to see some good information, pics, and reviews of the veneralble Volks kits, but don't know where to find them. I've done some Google earches but not found much helpful.

Old news release, but I just got my EMSIA Zaku II from HLJ today, and I realy love this little figure. It's the most articulated Zaku ever, and I love the weathered finished. It holds poses fine, but doesn't have super tight joints, but it's really dynamic and fun to play with.

Just got my Mfax Factory Turbo Custom 1/35 Scopedog today. While it's not a $50 toy by any means, it IS an extremely well made and factastic toy! Extremely well articulated and very well made, the whole figure feels nice and solid with a nice hard, rugged PVC. The paint job is simple and clean, with some nice inked panel lines. I think I'm going to hand paint as many of the markings as I can and then weather it up a bit, because I never really apply toy stickers. I might trim and fit some of the fine details like stenciling, but I think I'll just paint on the stripes and lines and whatnot with a fine brush. One other super cool thing is the alternate color scheme of Urban Camo on the stat card. I am going to need to buy a model kit to paint in that color scheme bc/ it's simply awesome. Everything fits together nice and solid, and while I can't stand the oversized head sculpt, I really love this figure and can't stop playing with it. For anyone else who buys it, consider it a higher-detailed Revoltech-type figure with harder PVC and nicely done standard design joints. It's not revolutionary like an RT, but it is solid and playable like an RT figure... if the others weren't so goddamm expensive, I'd consider collecting these figures for completeness and only buying Yamato big guys for special ones I like, such as the RSC w/ Weapons. I'd really like a MF Brutish Dog and Strong Bracchus, and then a Tortoise variant... maybe those will go on sale next? And, while they became listed as Discontinued after I ordered mine from HLJ, if you can find This little two-pack I trongly recommend it. They're comparable to the Kaiyodo Macross Gashapons, but much more solidly built, really well detailed, and even more posable than the Macross ones.

Why would you want that??? Altho, I do like the purple on that much more than the SPEC... but wow is that a flourescent green (which, I guess does make sense for the whole prototype thing)...

Hmm... reminds me just how much the Yamato Scopedog needs an open outspread hand... anyone got an extra Yamato Scopedog hand I could have (ie a fist hand you anre't using) so I could mod/sculpt an outstretched left hand and maybe have it recasted? I want an existing extra hand to mod so it fits on the wrist alright bc/ the Yamato Scopedog is one toy I'm not brave enough to add ball jointed bits to for the wrists.

That musty be a pic of the Yamato Red Shoulder Custom from the series... that's the release I've been waiting for, and I'm sooooo pumped. The articulated fingers on the DMZ do look really god, but gah, the Microman Fyana is so awful... I really cannot stand Microman figures.

The 400% Sync was from when Shinji lost his physical body inside the LCL.... I dont remember any changes to the Eva for that.... The sculpting on the extra bits for the Berserk version look nice, but honestly, why'd they have to be released as another whole figure?
-
I told you so I saw those newer releases with the display base and weathering... pretty good idea, really. I agree with you on the MF figures... I like they're looks alot and articulation, but the head is way too big and wide...

What movie comic? I'm just going on the leaked script from last year... -
You could have gone with the all-green Scopedog2 Round Mover special one like what he pilots in the first ep. But yeah, I love my Scopedog too.

Everyone else has got your decomp question answered, but one last tip... the spontaneous maggot thing you're thinking of is a very old theory (I want to say medieval or slightly thereafter) of spontaneous generation, wherein people thought things like maggots did appear out of decomposing matter, but if you put a piece of something like raw meat in a SEALED jar, it will decomp from bacteria, but no maggots or flies will appear bc/ they cannot get inside the jar... they are ATTRACTED to decomp, but don't come from it. Hope your writing prokect goes well... is wriitng scripts themselves a new thing for you as an artist, or have you always written the stuff? (I can't remeber off hand if you did the writing for Tag and Blink or just the art.)

eriku, I would have gone straight for a later release 'Dog... the joints have significantly imporved since the first release, but glad to hear the Chirco figure is nice. The Brutishdog sounds sweet too...

Hey, that'll be pretty cool too! The MG 78G and 79G aren't that great... got all the features, but the hands dont stay on well and the head for the 78G is humungous.
