You didn't come off as rude, don't worry, we did kinda hijack the thread for a minute... You know I can appreciate the level of detail and engineering in the plastic kits /when compared to other plastic kits/ but compared to a good metal model, it's just nowhere near the same, and I don't see how anyone can argue that. Plastic minis suffer from soft detail. I've got a box of brand-new Terminators in storage somewhere, and I checked them out before I submitted them to storage. Compare the headsculpts of any marine plastic to any metal marine or any other metal headsculpt... it's just not even close.Plastic has its uses, and customizing the models can be fun and is infinitely easier with plastic, but the overall level of detail between plastic and metal, especially for someone who is far more in the hobby to paint than play anything more than pickup games and friendly LGS tournies, is just not even comparable... And the fluff has always been very strong for 40K... I don't play anymore, but I do still read the books for fun, gritty sci-fi thrills.

Fine, fine, we can knock it off... in respect to the thread tho, I am going to leave you with one question I actually do want an answer to... what is it about the game that you really, thoroughly enjoy? I liked the models for a little while until I found many superior models in all-metal lines like WM, and I've always found the actual play-time clunky and boring, so I really, really do want to know what about playing you really enjoy.

Yeah, I love to read ToyFare, which this list is from, but they really know NOTHING at all about non-American toys... they occasionally try to mention some import JP toys and end up failing miserably bc/ they have no idea what they are talking about... and yeah, there are multiple SoC toys that should be on that list before many of the 'normal action figures'.

I'll take all 3

Okay, the those big smoke-stack bits are for the machine-spirit's farts?

IMO, the tank kits are fun to build but extremely undersized and under-detailed OOB (especially the SM ones... there's no way a ten man squad is fitting in that Rhino... barring the fact that the Rhino model has no room left for it's drive-system (engine?) Not Liking WM is just a matter of preference, but I personally love the PP models, so it works out for me. I just find no joy in playing a game of 40K compared to a game of WM/Hordes (I even enjoy Classic Battletech more than 40K games)...it's just such a clunky and soul-less system...

I cannot wait for the Yamato RS weapons to come out... I'm just hoping the missile launcher isn't too heavy or the ankles are really good on the dog in the set... mine all (except for the two new ones sitting at home) have tightened up ankles, but OOB that might be a bit scary.

Anyone seen this yet? looks totally amazing... proper looking plastic figure model kit of Galvatron, with more TFs planned... bit price-prohibitive with the limited release, but maybe they will get enough attention to get some proper distribution.

Based on ALOT of horror stories I've heard AND some personal accounts of tournaments that were supposed to make them seem 'fun', I'd say your opinion on 40K would have plummeted fast if you went to one of the tournies...

Play Warmachine and Hordes by Privateerpress.... GW games are overpriced, not fun, and full of snobby people. EDIT: And I'm not just saying that, I DID used to play.... Blood Angels.

To be fair, it's only super confusing the first time... after that it's pretty intuitive..

Ace Combat X has killed ALOT of my time lately, but at this point I'm mostly in waiting mode for Castlevania... GoW should be a big release too. I don't see the PSP as anywhere near dead, it's just that the smash-hit titles are a bit further between then on some platforms. I still love my PSP tho and really enjoy a number of games on it.

Future should do the trick... stuff is a clear-gloss miracle in a bottle.

I've been wondering if Yamato won't just fudge the scale to keep the 11 in line with the other Mac+ valks... I've always wondered why the designs suddenly jump so much in size... you've got the Vf-1 and 11 and others in between there that are all around the same size, and then suddenly the valks get bat-friggen huge like the 21/22... what happens? It's be much nicer if they are all a little closer in size so we could get one scale of valks all around the size and quality of the 1/48 Vf-1 and recent 1/60 releases.... just ret-con the 1/48 Vf-1 to actually be 1/60 scale and then make the 11 the same size

CA glue won't melt the plastic regardless, that's what plastic cement is for... with a little effort, superglue will chip off of smooth plastic like white-glue...

That's true too... I always kinda liked the Nevada thing... -
Right... I always use EMS, but especially for Yamato valks, it always says 'trackable method only'...

There is actually a 1/200 plastic kit of the Monster... either Imai, Arii, or Nichimo, I can never remember which... And, not to go too OT, but how does Robotechnology fit 8 people inside the Monster?

Interesting to hear about new 'good-guy' Evas... does this mean less of the 13 total Evas will be Mass-produced S^2 Engine Evas in the end, or will the number not be 13 anymore...? -
I've been doing it for ages and still have no problem doing it if people have trouble finding it or whatever...
-
It's super addicting, bu I cannot figure out how to make the jump from four digit scores to five...?
-
You know... I haven't had a request for them in a while... maybe just bc/ the thread has fallen off until today everyone forgot about it. Now people will have two ways to get it tho, so, who knows...

Super lame... glad I ddin't pick it up then... I would have been fuming.

Hmmm? It looked like it had all the parts in it... there was a torso and head and some parts in the display window on the box... it was a long thin box about the size of a toothpaste box...
