Eh... I'm still playing Castlevania games on my 1st release see-thru purple (the color all Nintendo devices should be) Game-Boy Advance... I've got two of the same GBA just in case one dies... haven't really seen much of anything that would get me to buy a DS (aside from the two Castlevania games there) because most all my handheld time goes to my PSP... I just find the stylus stupid and gimicky... I cannot imagine guiding Link with it. Ick.

I thought HLJ's plug was easily removed, but I could be making that up...

I'm debating getting MP05 as well, but I really was hoping it was as playable as MP Prime...

21 looks amazing!!
-
Oh sh!t, that looks legit! The shots are small and quick, but man it looked great! I can't wait now...

You know, after pondering it over more, I have little faith in a second AppleSeed film titled 'Deus Ex Machina' being any good if I had problems with pulled-out-of-arse lot resolutions in the first film...

Mobile Suit Gundam 00 - <<Season 1>>
promethuem5 replied to UN Spacy's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
Hmmm.... no, I guess it is just a mishmash of random parts... that's actually kinda rad. -
Even with the stress marks, MP SS rarely broke, so I'm not too concerned about it...

Contra FTW man... Assasin's Creed hasn't looked so hot since it didn't work at that one convention tech-demo... -
Mobile Suit Gundam 00 - <<Season 1>>

Wait, that's not REALLY going to be in the series, is it?? -
That looks really really god so far... keep it up!

Mobile Suit Gundam 00 - <<Season 1>>

What IS that!? I like the legs off of it... -
Yes, grey-tan is much better on a giant robot than flesh.

They're a totally different beast in the toy world, but that's not a bad thing. The Yamato design goes for the engineering-marvel aspect with the most detailed build ever... the DMZ goes for large-scale fun with pilot figures and awesome articulation... the CMS fill in an odd gap with some of the more obscure designs... the Max Factory figs should fall into the low-priced highloy posable action figure area (like Revoltechs) if they weren't so goddamn expensive... The old Takara figures are like the Chunky Monkies... I sitll debate getting the RDM BrutishDog off of HLJ everytime I see it. They are from what I understand, as indestructible as 1/55 Valks, and have the same old-school 80s mecha toy styling and feel.

1/60 YF-19 Gerwalk Locking Chest Mod
promethuem5 replied to Lonely Soldier Boy's topic in The Workshop!
Very impressive... I will most certainly be doing this when my 19 finally goes in for its decal and weathering job... ages from now. -
I'm not familiar with the design or series, but I could be interested in a Battroid model...
-
The armor was usually transformed in motion, for some pretty rad action sequences...
-
The teaser image did look solid, but how the characters are done in action is a different beast altogether...
-
See, I would get the BurglaryDog, because of the fact that it's actually a BurgDog toy! if it weren't soooo expensive. I wouldn't mind still picking up an AG Fatty for fun, but after getting the Turbo Custom AG, I don't have alot of interest in having anymore AG Scopedogs... the Fatty and Turtle are less fiddly on such a small scale. I do still really like and appreciate all the support vees and diorama potential of the AG line... there's now doubt that a fully kitted up and painted Turbo Custom scene deploying from the Big Carry would be amazing.

I'm not going to argue with anyone who says the Landmate action scenes weren't amazing... I really really want to make a landmate kit or two now... it's such a great design. My problem with the animation is all the 2D stuff looking rather sickening with gross colors and awkward shading and such... too much post-processing and extra touch-ups... give me some great hand-drawn and colored characters any day. There's a difference between using the modern techniques and bastardizing the modern techniques into something gawd-awful...

I'm pretty sure GTIS came out way before the AppleSeed film...
-
I find the little 1/48 figs way too small and miserably unplayable anyways... but that stinks to hear that there's not much variety btw/ the Spec.Edition releases...

Oh crap... I just remembered, I bought my 0A from BBTS, and they already replaced the shoulders once (albeit with still defective ones)... why couldn't Yamato just offer the new arms for sale as a limited release item for everyone?
-
Are these arms holding up better? Bc/ mine's in storage, but I know the arms are broken, but i don't want to bother getting replacements from HLJ unless they really are new durable fixed arms.
-
Let me start by saying that was more of an expression statement then literal... I was expecting/hoping for someone who truly loves the film to come on here and tell me why it's a great movie and why I couldn't possibly have not liked it. Seriously, I was hoping to hear the absolute extreme other side of the fence bc/ I WANT to know how people liked the film. Next up... apparently my ignorance of the source material is to blame for my problems with many of the small things in the film... that's legitimate and understandable, but still, if I couldn't get the proper experience out of the film bc/ I've never read the manga, what does that say about the film? I'll chime in about GTIS here as well, seeing as it seems impossible to mention a Shirow work without bringing the other works in at least a little bit... I find the original GTIS movie entertaining and fun, even if it goes a little over my head... I just downloaded Stand-Alone Complex, the SAC Film, and the second GTIS film and will watch those at some point. I've also read the big long Dark Horse (I think?) published manga and found it entertaining, but still tough to fully grasp. The second book, however, GTIS 2 manga, which has all new characters and the same CGI-abortion artwork style as stuff like AppleSeed, and I've tried desperately to read it twice now bc/ it was expensive, but I just cannot finish it. I'm a massive fan of Evangelion, and I sitll can't wrap my head around all the psychobabble of the later Shirow stuff...
