UM armor set is preordered -
It's too bad that MaxFactory stuff is usually horribly overpriced (I'm looking at you VOTOMS PVC figures...)

CLASSICS HOUND!!!!!! Oh man, nothing but good news there.. I want ALL of the new-mold Universe Classics figs. Animated Dinobots and Magnus look amazing as well. So much good stuff there. EDIT: And Classics Cyclonus is fantastic as well... that means that with Classics Galvy, Cyclonus, and Titanium Scourge you can finally have a good post-movie G1 set of modern figs! -

Ohhhhhh! I thought we were talking about movie 2... bah, I need a subbed 1.01 as well! -
I'm a latecomer to the Lost party for sure... I was into the first few eps of the show, and got turned off around the time of the Hatch bc/ I thought it was too silly... but my friend turned me back on with this season and recap of what happened up to it, and I really am enjoying it... last night's ep was incredible.

Ah, so the color scheme is at least from the animation... I'm still working my way thru G1 and haven't made it that far. I have always liked the Dreamwave Guardian Robot scheme tho.. -
To be fully correct tho, the HCM-Pros have accessories on sprues to assemble just like Takara's Actic Gear VOTOMS line, but yes, otherwise they are all actual toys.

It's interesting... but I'm not really sure how I feel. I was really hoping the E-Hobby Guardian Robot would use the black and red pre-TF scheme of the toy. -
Good photo there showing some of the best non-PVC Gundam toys... someday I've gotta get a DX GP-01FB... I'm curious about that massive Mk II... never seen it before. Got any more details about it?

Hmmm.... there's actually some really cool stuff in the AB photos there. Think I may have to pic up the two figs whose vehicles turn into mechs. On another plus side, I've been thinking about getting some RT joints and sculpting my own Iron Man Rt fig, but maybe I won't have to sculpt it from scratch and can customize one of these generic people figures instead... sweet.
-
Interesting... I've never seen the Testujin anime, but I have always wanted the SOC figs of T-38 and Black Ox for some reason... think the simple design just makes them really fun looking figures. These two pictured above are kinds ugly, but the joints system bit shown on the T-28 sketches is really neato.
-
Lovin the fig... but either Blitz's really big, or Lockdown's REALLY small... I love everything I've seen from this line so far except the between-character scale.
-
To get the CMs to a matte finish, you could also brush on a coat of Valeijo Matte Varnish... that way you could paint just the surfaces that show,a nd not clog up joints and such like a spray would...
-
Your other option for cutting resin is a jewelers' saw... that's what I use bc/ I am DANGEROUS with a DREMEL...

SO... been playing thru GoW a second time, and my thumbstick BROKE on one of the twirl-the-stick-matching bits... but don't worry, Sony'll give me another refurbished unit for the low low price of $96... unbelievable... this is the second one I've had to have replaced (broke the screen last time, totally my fault)... and Sony's warranty and service policy is just broke. I coulda just bought a thumbstick and replaced it myself, but that would void the warranty... and cost like $15. Stupid me for wanting to be able to get some form of support for my PSP from Sony still... why do they have to punish me for it tho?
-
Well, on the most of the releases, pretty much every single piece is separate and molded in color, eyes and chin bits included. Snapped they look OK... they'll still look really toy-like bc/ the colors will be really plasticy... if you spray them with a matte-finish or something after building them they'll look a little better, but you'll still have like sprue marks and such... they'll look like really clean action figures, not showcase models. Without any paint they are just kinda bland looking. Again, hit up dalong.net for pics of every MG, PG, HGUC, and other modern like releases...
-
If you're into slightly more realistic and reasonable stuff (well, maybe..), I'd stick to Universal Century stuff.... Wing can be fun, but SEED can really disappoint if what you're into is stuff like 08th MS Team or War in the Pocket (which I found boring lol...). Then again my favorite is 0083 Stardust Memories (The Last Blitz of Zeon), which contains my favorite design, the GP-01FB (right after I proclaim my love for the grunt series, gotta love the irony, right?)
-
Hit up dalong.net for extensive galleries of all of the modern Bandai kits... HGUC, MG, non-grade, 00 stuff, it's all there.

Yeah, so I was young when the first ML series came out, and I managed to snag the proto-classic red and gold IM at retail before ML collectors went chase-crazy, but never got the normal yellow and red release, and our WallyWorld is notorious for never getting store-exclusives in...
-
I never picked up FaceOff WM either... the FO IM mold is such an oddball for me... I LOVE the armor, and I love the aesthetic of the figure, but the biceps really need to be fixed in order to allow proper articulation, which I haven't done yet, and really the fig could stand to be repainted.... I'm also missing the ML series 1 yellow armor and stealth armor figs, and the ML8 Modern IM tho, so my collection is flawed as well...
-
Same here... I'd LOVE some detailed looking animation-model based TF Revoltechs... but he current ones are so ugly it's just unfair.
-
I'm curious as to how much you'd want... seems silly to buy the set for the smaller of the items in it and not just keep the rest...

1/60 perfect transforming vf-1 from yamato?
promethuem5 replied to Shaggydog's topic in Hall Of The Super Topics
Hmm... the prices on these aren't great.... -
I want a VF-1A CF and no others... maybe the two-seaters...
