What you're forgetting here is that all Transformers comics are boring... I don't know what it is, but I just don't really enjoy any TF comics ever... WWI is fun but unspectacular, and Megatron Origins is ok, but on a whole TF comics do nothing for me.

Was there a confirmation of a 1/100 VF-171 that I missed? Are there any pics? -
I'll follow this one as well, I lvoe to see resin kits built up. Have you thought about paint at all? Going for the classic Elint look, or something else?

This is some of the best IM writing in the franchise, enjoy. I feel that once Busiek and Chen leave after the Sentient Armor bit IM really tanked for a long time, and I don't like the faux-painted art once Granov shows up, but the vol 3 early issues are some of the best. I also love the Heroes Reborn run, even tho that gets alot of flak from the purists.

Good catch... noone wants a sweaty jacket. HLJ doesn't have any SMS jacket listed, so I've no idea... it'd probably be easier to buy the patch and do it myself with a nice jacket I know fits that I buy here. -

So, is TokyoHunter the only game in town for preordering the Alto armor set? He seems expensive with the shipping... I preordered the figure from BBTS and want to get the armor set under wraps. Then I've gotta wait for BBTS to list all the 1/100 figure preorders. -
Would it be possible for anyone to take a nice hi-res scan of the VF-25 decal sheet? I want to make decals for a 1/100 Koenig Monster custom and want some of the SMS markings and the like to use... I also heard there was a special release of the VF-25 kit with the Monster's noseart included as a decal... is that true, and if so could anyone provide a scan of that?

Holy F-all... I just finished finally watching MacF... stared last night and got about halfway, finished it up today. I voted for a perfect 10, and honestly, I loved it. Mac+ is probably still my favorite in the series for its design and characters, but honestly, MacF blows everything else away. I'm usually not a big fan of the music and love side of it, but MacF handled it all so well, and the music was actually really good and I enjoyed it alot! The CGI for the mecha was fantastic, and I didn't find it a distracting difference at all. The action was well choreographed and had the frenetic balls to the walls aspect that Mac0 only sometimes delivered on. I loved the nods to previous series in the franchise, and really liked how the characters were similar to alot of the archetypes setup in SDF:Mac without being cookie-cutter copies, and I loved it. I say: bring on the toys! I'd also love to get an SMS jacket like Ozma wears... that'd be sweEt. -
I am an Iron Man whore, and have been since around '98... I am glad Secret Invasion is over, and while it was fun, it was unspectacular in the end and didn't do much for me... altho I'm interested to see where Stark goes from here in Invincible Iron Man, as that book has been A-mazing so far, and a testament to the awesomeness IM's title book hasn't had for a long time now, even if the end of IM: Director of Shield did signal the deathknell of the contiguous run of IM books since the original series. I collect IM stuff, and hope to someday have every IM book... I'm missing most all of the first 100 from the original run in the 70's, but that's about it.

I just checked out OD, and their prices are fantastic, but they're out of stock on everything I want. Still wondering where people are preordering the DX Alto Armor sets besides Tokyohunter. -

Yeah, I was just gonna go place a Macross-themed order from HLJ with some instock items and some preorders, but the dollar is doing absolutely rotten compared to the Yen, and projected to go up after January, so I for one will wait to finally buy my Destroid Tomahawk. I think I'll preorder the Alto DX from BBTS tho... where's the best place to preorder the exclusive armor set? Tokyohunter wants double the price at least for the set shipped. -

Honestly I was considering repainting the spare Bandai VF-17 I found at the comic shop into a faux-VF-171 in the cool Frontier NUNS scheme. I think what's gonna happen is I'll buy one Chogokin DX after they're released, probably Alto's, and hopefully the special armor set will still be findable... and then I'll get the whole lot in the 1/100 line to display together and with the Koenig. -

Hate to double post, but I finally started watching MacF tonight and was wondering... has anyone planned on giving their Koenig Monsters a custom SMS paintjob to go with their 1/100 VF-25s? I'm gonna have to make up a decal sheet or something, because I finally know why I own a Koenig. -
Looks sharp... I'm always in favor of brushwork in order to avoid tedious masking.

Thanks for the pic... I kinda like the mecha with a little less robo-dick, but I can see where the height of the hips can affect the dynamic look of the figure in general. -
Testors acrylics? You don't mean the rattle cans, do you? The Model Master ones... I thought those were enamel...

I just went thru enough pages of this thread to see some nice pics... I haven't watched MacF yet (gonna try and plow thru it this weekend), but I like the general design, and Bandai looks to have made a sweet toy. I know nothing about the anime-accuracy of the figure, and at the end of the day I probably won't care... but I'm curious, does anyone have some proper visual comparisons that outline the 'most grievous' of the inaccuracies this thread seems to be super butthurt over? All I've seen so far is the special preview episode 1 that aired like last Xmas, and the toy seems to look like the valks in that from what I remember -
Looks great so far... can't wait to see some paint on this. Is it gonna be a clean build, or weathered up like a plane should be? I hear ya on MacF... I'm gonna be done dling it this afternoon, and then I think I'll spend the weekend finally watching the series while working on my 40k stuff. I'll have a tank to show soon.

Nope, MP's don't have rubbies... only the Classics/Henkeis (and not the 2.0 Classics IIRC)
-
No, I'm pretty sure we're talking about th wing 'Con symbols, not the rubsigns.
-
The 'Con stickers are tampo'ed? Sweet... I'll have to pick up that set when it goes on clearance on BBTS... sorry DH but I need both.

Well, based on the original article, he claims to see no difference in the condition of the plastics, so I think provided the quality change of the plastic is negligible, having a way to bleach the plastic to remove yellowing in extreme cases is worth it. I've got a few very expensive items that could benefit from this (instead of the repainting I was planning on doing, which is a pain), and I'll certainly be looking to this technique after I try it on something cheaper first.
