Does that mean you'll stop complaining about it now? We've known what version they were releasing for months! How is this just now a problem?

Yamato 1/60 VF-17 Nightmare Diamond Force
promethuem5 replied to charger69's topic in Hall Of The Super Topics
If you don't like the design, think $300 is too much, and aren't even considering buying one, then why sit in this thread and voice unfounded assumptions? Why not let the people who are on the fence decide if they are going to be an early adopter or wait for people to get a feel for the final shipped toys and leave it at that? Toy people do not like MW because of the rampant speculation and hyper-reactionary panic, not because of the useful discussion of toys in-hand. -

Offering well-based and useful criticism is one thing, but the last thing MW needs is more whinging over assumptions made based on pictures of non-final products. If the toy turns out to have some flaw or gap or what-have-you WHEN YOU HAVE IT IN HAND, then that's one thing. Being a baby about things you have no first-hand experience with is absurd, and bringing them up again and again is of no use. -
I think you must be on drugs. All you guys do on here is complain that they aren't making the valk you want every time they come out with a new one, but you want them to redo what is still the best Yamato valk on the market? The elbows go to 89 degrees instead of 90, boo-hoo. Any shield problems you have are your problem, mine is rock solid.

Well, you're faulting Yamato for making the smart business move over a personal and minority opinion. -

Don't like fat Valks, but buy the chunky 19 Kai? I'd much rather have the machines that actually show up in things, like the 17, rather than some mythical fan-wank Valk that's nothing more than a footnote. -
I know I haven't been around here in ages, and that this isn't actually a toy, but it matches up with the CMs Corps vinyl labors and I thought you guys would enjoy the pics: Mobile Police Patlabor might be my favorite mecha anime. I am all about down and dirty war shows like VOTOMS or Gundam 08th MS Team, but the combination of more civilized real robot action and the fantastic characters make Patlabor a fantastic series. In Patlabor, mecha (labors) have become an everyday thing for everything from construction to war. As with all new technologies, labors are abused, so special police divisions are created to combat labor crime with their own Patrol Labors (‘Pat’ ‘labor’). The MPL-97S Python is the aging Patlabor of choice for Tokyo Metropolitan Police Department Special Vehicles Section 1, seen in one or two episodes of the TV series. In the 90′s, Bandai made a ton of Patlabor merch, including a venerable line of 1/60 scale plamo kits, even going so far as to offer B-club aftermarket parts for some. In addition to the plastic line, there were three 1/60 scale vinyl kits of machines that had limited screen time, the Python, Saturn, and Economy Ingram. These kits are awesome, because they basically build up into a posable figure similar to the CM’s Corps vinyl labors released a few years back alongside the excellent Brave Gokin Patlabor figures, which are give or take 1/48 or 1/60 scale, so they all look good together. For the last two years, I have mostly taken a break from robots and been having a lot of fun spraying kaiju and resin figures and having a grand old time, but I decided that it was time to get back to the ‘heavy’ modeling, and a vinyl model kit seemed like a good middle ground to ease the transition. With the release of a couple new Monster Kolor airbrushing colors, inspiration hit, and I knew exactly how to blend my newfound airbrush skills with a ‘proper’ model that would still build into a fun figure. The Patlabors are all extremely well-maintained and clean, but they invariably get beat up every time they leave the station and get into a scuffle. I used Monster Kolor and some masking to make a shiny, clean labor with a proper automotive finish. I even borrowed a trick I learned from Dead Pre$idents himself to apply the kit’s stickers after painting, and then MK Glossing over them, eliminating the edges to the stickers almost completely. Then came the joint work, some detailing, and a little weathering. The Python still came out a littler dirtier than it probably should be, so we’ll call it the machine after a battle. The next thing to do is look at scratch-building the riot shield and baton the Pythons wield in their TV appearance. More pics on my site.

Well, in reality, it'd be cool to still have it form a nice Rodimus figure, even if the transformation is moot. I'm personally looking forward to the US release so that I can get the JP one as Rodimus, and have the US one be a dedicated MP Hot Rod that I'll mess around with more.

WFC Bee is awesome... my favorite Bee figure ever. Having a blast with the game proper as well, and cannot wait for Prime! All the news we've heard for this year is also awesome... Hot Rod, and pure G1 lovin' in Generations is all sorts of fanboy fantasies all at once. I also managed to find the 25th Anni Perceptor and Insecticons still at my TRU. Both great quality releases, but did anyone else get Perceptor? I grabbed it for my little brother, and there's some kind of grease lubricating the head, and it's a bit gross... anyone else notice this?

I finally opened one of my sofu Regults the other day, and it is a perfect toy. Looks great on the shelf, has enough articulation to be fun, bits perfectly in your hand, and is indestructible to boot. Toynami got everything right on these.

The past year or 18 months has shown us that the 1/48 ship has pretty much sailed. There's no reason to go back to that scale when 1/60 works far better for making a franchise-wide set of comparable figures.

Veef's not rude, he's just frank, and doesn't tolerate wrongness.

See, this is a stupid thing to say, and proves that at the end of the day, you guys still don't understand anything about making these toys or figures. The Regult will be in their special HDP resin because the design is unfeasible for regular or 'easy' production... a recast in conventional resin would cost a fortune and probably break before you could get it upright. Look at the hoops John Moscato had to go through to make his (amazing, and expensive) Glaug kit. Part of the problem with the Macross bad guys is not just that bad guy toys seem to be less popular, but the Zentraedi designs are remarkably impractical for a line-art accurate or high-quality toy to match the modern valks. Look at the old Matchbox ones... those toys look the way they do because that was the only way to make them durable and work as toys. The way you guys bitch, I'm surprised noone's asked for a unicorn to be included with their toy yet.

Bruticus looks just amazing... cannot wait to get the sets! Also: FansProject Defender Review You should probably pick up FP Defender if you like Springer, or toys, and have been on the fence EDIT: Oh my god, new forum is so confusinggggg.

Toyfafe had some pics of Megs, but I haven't seen them online.

Iron Man 2 (Scarlett Johansson as Black Widow!)
promethuem5 replied to EXO's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
Eh... as a long-time Iron Man fan, I can't stand Granov's overly digital painted art, the overall suit style, or the Extremis story. It made Stark one big Macguffin for too long. -
Doesn't Impossible Toys make mostly terrible (and overpriced) products, tho?

How would it transform into Space-Winnebago then? You guys can't complain about FP upgrading the Rodimus design based on exactly how he worked in the original toy.

The response video is aweeeeeesssooooooommmee. He's reading nonsense off of a script, pretty much admits that he was inappropriate in front of the kid, and tries to dump some blame back on the naysayers. I don't follow Youtube drama and can't stand the people on the site in general, but this guy seems extra creepy.

Wow, this is a shame... our CDX review sample performed like a champ, and Dan loves it.

I would assume this first run will match the RotF set, like the Superion set sort of did. Which is good for me The painted figures look amazing.

I've seen it come up before on 4chan, but you can't really trust them
