Hmmm... well, I can't answer alot of your questions, but I can give you some ideas. If you are going to be scratchbuilding a kit, make sure you DRAW IT OUT PROPERLY FIRST!! I cannot stress this enough... any time you are going to be making something from nothing, you have GOT to have references. Draw out the entire thing you are amking from various angles, maybe even with an exploded parts view and/or on graph paper. If nothing else, it will help you keep the proportions correct. I really don' know much about what can and can't be done in resin, but for basic sculpting and such, why not check a few of the local community colleges around you? It's possible that they have a part time Sculpting 101 class that you could take... and then just try to practice alot. Oh and for equipment, that's easy. A good basic set of sculpting tools and probably some various small kitchen tools. You'll undoubtedly end up hodge-podging together your own tool for various uses, so might as well have the raw meterials there for it. As for scultping material, check out green Kneadatite, brown Kneadatite, and Aves Apoxie Sculpt. There IS a difference between green (blue and yellow two-part mix) and brown (white and brown I think?)Kneadatite... green does some things well, and I know for a fact that due to different consitencies, brown does sharp edges and details better.

I dunno... if they can be, then I can see the problem. We could do it the same way we do on Lords of the Battlefield (a Battletech site)... everyone submits their entries, and an anonymous panel of the moderators and higher ups vote first to divide the entries anonymously into two categories: Standerd and Expert. They are then out into two public galeries anonymously, and everyone goes and checks them out. We then just have a simple 'voting thread' where everyone posts and votes publicly for an entry in each Standard and Expert, which also allows for people to throw in some comments before the contest is over. The votes are counted up and then the winner is announced and the info for the entries is revealed. It's never had a problem in my experience.

Between DYRL and Mac+ would be neat, but honestly, I'm pretty with Radd here.... as long as it's good. I'd want something pretty harcore tho... real gritty military type action, not crazy zany stuff like Mac7 (there's a time and a place for that, but I really want something gritty and utilitarian).... Another idea I've always had floating around in my head is a DYRL side story... I've always always always wanted to see one of the other squads on the Macross.... we know about Vermillion team and Skull Squadron, but there obviosuly have to be more. maybe a Spec Ops wing that does alot of behind the scenes sbatoge and recon... And going back to the between DYRL and Mac+, why not a series directly after DYRL, with the aftermath of the war, and the reconstruction of earth? They could finally actually use the VF-4 in animation

I really wish that this scheme had turned out better, cuz it'd be alot of fun to weather up with teh matching GBP if that had come out looking better as well... both are pretty ugly in their current forms. The LV2 really bugs me tho.... it's like, so close to being a really nice valk, but instead lookis like a kindergatener got ahold of avalk with primary color fingerpaints.

Well, for the decals part, I'd suggest asking Anasazi about what materials he uses. I think he said one time that his printer was an Alps model. As for the cockpit, I'd wait to see how the 1/60 Yamato VF-0S does it, because it seems like there'd be alot of cutting up of parts in the VF-1 to free up the chair.
