You recasted his recasts? Heh, looks good nonetheless.

Those are some spiffy line arts. So these aren't floating around on any site on the net anymore?

I tried hard to get into FM2, but i guess not being able to understand the storyline (with it being in japanese and all) just killed it for me. Fun game, but i just wish i could understand what was happening.

Yeah myk's got a point. The same thing happened with the DC, which by the way even though it died a premature death was an awesome system with some great games. They had a one year head start on Sony's PS2, but they just couldn't maintain their lead after word got out about what Sony was offering and even more so when the PS2 actually hit. 378267 Funny, since what Sony was claiming htey were offering to kill the DC wasn't what came out. 378268 I'm not following you there? I know they announced they would have the ability to playback DVD's which was a large selling point for a lot of the people i talked to when i worked at TRU, but i don't remember anything else that they annouced (other than games) that they didn't follow through with. 378273 They promised a system that massively outperformed the Dreamcast in every way. What came out was a system that had trouble EQUALING the Dreamcast. The PS2 has NEVER reached any of the performance claims Sony made. 378279 Sony's name alone is what really carried the PS2. The PSX wasn't all that much of a great system IMO but it had some top notch games and more importantly it had so many games, it was simply impossible for any of the other systems to keep up. So considering the casual gamer market now, when news of a PS2 was on the horizon with potential sequels to everyone's fav. games almost a certanity, this really killed the chances of the Dreamcast having a lengthy stay in the console market. Come to think of it didn't Sony annouce the release of the PS2 the same day that the Dreamcast launched (9/9/99)? Talk about clever and cut-throat at the same time.

Funny since once the PS2 landed all it had was poor DVD playback and a bunch of crappy games that looked worse than DC games. It took years for the PS2 to finally get some competent games that could compete with the DC's lineup, but by then everyone had ditched the DC. 378316 Heh you're not kidding i was one of the first in our store to pick up a DC since it had such great potential and even though i preordered a PS2, it didn't get play for months until some good games came out for it. Oh well it was my first DVD player however.

Haha that's great to hear. You won't be disappointed. Just be sure to join your local MCA (Macross Collector's Anyonomus) in the mean time so that when your addiction goes full blown you'll have some where to turn.

That weapon was def. overpowered, but at the point in the game that you got it, at least when i got mine, i wuz stuck in an insane battle where one of the enemy wanzers had arm shot and nearly every turn he would blow off one of my guy's arms. If i remember correctly it was maybe less than 5 missions from the final one. It's the one where you're at the ship yard and the enemy commander is sitting on one of the wharehouses with about the best vantage point in the entire map, he could snipe just about anyone from where he was. He also lead an elite group of wanzers that of course outnumber you 2 to 1 which is common, but the commander's ability to blow off your wanzer's arms almost at will was the killer enemy advantage. I was so close to beating that mission the first run through but his constant arm shots just got the better of me. In the end the only wanzers i had to face him with, had no arms! I decided to try and even the playing field so i looked up how to aquire this secret super weapon (beam rifle), got it, equipped to my main character and sent them in again. My main character scored a body shot on the first turn and took out the enemy commander and with him his arm shot ability. With that taken care of the rest of mission was a breeze, and although it made the last few missions a little easier, i can't say that it was a game breaker. I'm sure we'll see something like that in 5 maybe just not as powerful or maybe not as easy to get.

Looking forward to seeing the prototype. When do you think you can get one finished?

You know what seems to work for me so far, suprinsingly well? That swiffer duster. It won't get into those deep down dust pockets that might have piled up after a number of years, but for regular dust keeping maintence, even after a number of months it ate the dust right up.

Mines is too. She is still wondering when will it end. Looks like I will still be sleeping in the dog house if Yamato keeps this up. 376349 Haha... i'd probably have the same problem if my live-in girlfriend knew how much i spent on these things and other toys. As far as she knows it's just a small hobby of mine. Boy she'd go berzerk if she knew how much some of this stuff went for. As for the valks, since i haven't gotten my hands on the 1/60 VF-0S, i def have to side with the 1/48's on this one. You could probably pick up you fav. one (as long as it's not the low viz that is) , for a pretty reasonable price that's close to if not what it normally retails for.
-
I agree with you 100 percent on the super posables. I think they're great little figures for the price and i have most of the Macross ones and all of the Mospeada ones. But the figure he pointed out that he wanted to put on a Hase Battoriod Kit was the VF-1R and IMO it just ain't happening. That head is awful and as Wolfx pointed it out it was a sad circumstance that made that animation mistake into an actual figure.

Damn, somebody get this man some spare Joke Machines! There's gotta be some junkers you guys can sell off for cheap. How about using some of those robotech morphers? *shudder*

I haven't played that game in years but IIRC there were two endings, right? Two entire stories, actually. All depending on one dialog choice after... the second mission? Absurdly early in the game. 377893 Wasn't it right before the second mission? SPOILER ALERT. Right when Ryogo asks you whether or not you want to goto the construction site? I answered yes, like i think most everyone else did, simply because i was curious what was there. I was waiting and waiting for the point where i would have to choose which storyline path to take. I read later on in an online FAQ that this crucial point was actually that very early question in the beginning of the game. I thought it was a brilliant tactic since it basically gave you two full games to play! I never made it all the way through the game in the alt. storyline, but you guys are seriously making me lean towards starting it up again. I might just have to do that after i get through with Black.

Was better when you forced an eject with your handgun, and they were dumb enough to let you steal it next turn. 377804 Oh man that was one of the best... and worst parts about FM3. I love'd forcing ejections with your handguns and being able to take the Wanzers the next turn, but on the same token it wasn't anywhere near as fun when you were ejected off totally random and sometimes very lucky shots. All a part of the game i guess though.

WOW! That is quite a laundry list of guys you have on the horizon. Think you have enough JM's to make em all?
-
I think they're right around there. I know they're bigger than the old 1/100 action figures. But why would you want to put it on a Hasegawa and ruin a perfectly good kit. Haha, plus you'll be running a perfectly good paperweight.

Awesome thanks for the link, lots of helpful stuff there.

Man these models are all top notch. Nice Paint jobs!
-
That is nuts. It makes it look some much more menacing with the details you put into it. Nice job

4 was good, it had it's high points and some challenging missions, but i never got the wow factor i got from it like i did with 3. Still recommended though.

I wouldn't be suprised Valk Hunter. I absoulutely loved FM 3 and 4 and i got through about half of number 1 before i drifted away from it, but still an excellent game. The sad thing is as awesome as these games are i've heard from numerous sources and from my own exp. of working at Toys R' Us that i don't know if this series sells well enough over here for them to continue releasing it. I seriously hope i'm wrong... but as a good note i read up on the IGN boards about this after what you said and alot of people are speculating it will hit here sometime in the summer of this year. Since it just came out in Japan, i'd give it sometime perhaps E3 will give us some good news. Here's hoping.
-
Never! I always liked the JM's, but thought they could be better. You my friend have proven that with your skill at putting together these customs. Excellent! BTW how many more customs do you have on the horizon and which valks did you have in mind?
-
The hits just keep coming with your Joke Machines. These customs are so clean, yet amazingly detailed at the same time. Nice Job!
