1. Good to see you're getting into the hobby with a passion for painting and customing mate. Nice job.
2. Hmm, i'm starting to have second thoughts about ordering all of the first releases from one of my local import stores... but i'm just hoping the mere amount of poseability they have will make them worth it...
3. Meh. Most of the Alternator exclusive repaints have been a major disappointment. Gimme Mirage and lemme be on my way. 400856 I hear yah. I'm really happy with what they're doing with Mirage. I just hope i can find him locally when he hits the mass retailers.
4. Sigh another sad alternator repaint. http://www.tformers.com/article.php?sid=5973 This guy makes Ricochet look good... almost.
5. That is a pretty neat idea. They've also gotta a neat little storage system for small items on their site that stacks like legos too. http://www.cubisto.com/01/cu02_00_00_hacco.html
6. Haha, where did you happen to pick it up Dyno? Collector Maniacs... Mechahawaii? Going to run down to collectors myself tonight to scrounge one up. I hope i get lucky with the QC.
7. Looking better and better, i'm happy i preordered mine. I'm really digging the green gunpod as well. Thanks for the pics.
8. SPOILER If i'm not mistaken if you take the Mercenary route i think you can get access to it (ability to purchase it) after mission 3. If you take the Mercenary route the squadron that comes to intercept you in Mission 3 is outfitted with Typhoons. After you beat the mission it's unlocked along with the corresponding squadron color... at least i think so. I beat that mission about 2 weeks ago, but i think that's where i unlocked it from. Your best bet might be to hit up gamefaqs just to make sure.
9. I have to agree, Zero has it's ups and downs and i can see where Duke is coming from with the lack of story (it was pretty good, but it had alot of potential to be even better, 4 still has the best story of the three IMO), but overall i think they did a much better job with how well your wingmen handle the situation you assign them to. Pixy/PJ covered my butt alot more times than Razgriz ever did in 5.
10. Arrgh, i've debated a hundred times over whether or not to pick this up and these pictures aren't helping decide against it. There goes $100+ heh.
11. Ahh so it's number eleven now... i thought it was stated as being number 10 before? Any one able to read Japanese well enough to tell us what took that spot over?
12. It is a bad photocopy granted. It's been floating around the net for a little while now, but the coloring that Josh did with Don's original sketches gives me renewed faith in this design. I have a feeling that the figure in the photocopy is just badly transformed and posed in an unassuming manner. I think when we finally see a clearer picture (preferrably in color) we should be able to breathe a sign of relief... at least i sure hope so.
13. I've got BTA Red Alert, i paid 60 for it at my local import store so yeah 80 is def. overpriced IMO. I've heard there's been some slight QC issues (loose limbs, misaligned parts in alt mode etc.) with this verison because of the number of times they've reused this mold, but mine didn't seem to run into any of these problems, although i haven't transformed him into alt. mode just yet. Bottom line is, if you really like the Subaru mold (if you don't already own Smokescreen or Silverstreak) and/or are a fan of Prowl... i mean Red Alert it's a great addition. I wouldn't pay more than 70 for it though. As for the differences between the BT and their Alt. counterparts, there's no real differences in the molds between the two versions, just in the paint apps. and the materials used. For example, BT Skids and Alt. Skids are exactly the same robot, car and character but have completely different paint jobs. Up until Prowl came out though every figure they released in the BT series that had an Alternators counterpart had as far as i can tell exactly the same paint job. Except for maybe Alt. Smokescreen who suffered from a non-metallic colored plastic body that made him easy to differentiate from his BT counterpart.
14. Just saw this posted up on TFW2005: The colors and color placement for that matter looks better than the Alt. Version IMO, heh but that surfboard sword...
15. Nice, thanks for the image uploads. WW Prime is still looking like a must buy. Megs is growing on me, but still i don't really think i'll be picking him up intially. They did a nice job with the detail on him but i just wish he was more poseable.
16. They should release a version with those in the manual. The world's first dodeca-changer. 398183 Found it: Credit to Tonyshotz of the Allspark forums.
17. Yeah i forgot to mention that one. It's Cody's Rumble it was bundled with the TRU Japan exclusive Galaxy Convoy + Sonice Bomber set. Believe it or not it's actually supposed to be an autobot heh. Also, it's not only a repaint but actually a slight retool, because the head has been resculpted to reflect the fact that he's an autobot. The hefty prices i've seen them going for the last time they were on ebay as a set of two (Yellow and Blue) they were fetching around 70 to 80 bucks not including shipping. Here's a link that might be of interest: http://www.tfans.com/talk/index.php?showtopic=46775 Good Luck Man.
18. Yes, Cybertron Scrapmetal is a nifty little scout and an awesome little mold. I remember seeing a page that had like 12 different fan made transformations for him that didn't require any custom or cutting work. I've gotta go look that up real quick. Only thing is it's too bad the Cybertron version only comes in Red. In the Galaxy Force release there were Blue and Yellow Variants. They're still available, but i've only seen them on places like ebay and they command a hefty sum. I'm happy i picked mine up when they were selling for sane prices. Also on a related note the Galaxy Force version Red Ramble is just a tad lighter in color than the Cybertron Scrapmetal, no real differences other than that.
19. Man that CF has seen better days. Suprised he made it back. Nice weathering/damage job.
20. I can't say for certain but i'd venture you can pick them up at any Wal-mart or Target once they start hitting store shelves en masse.
21. WW Ops looks like a worthy addition to anyone's TF collection, but that Megatron is still an eye sore IMO.
22. You know i don't ever recall Thundercracker using Megatron as a weapon, but it's been quite a while since i watched G1. As for a resource for information like this, the only thing i can think of is seibertron.com. I could have swore they had more comprehensive lists of all the characters before, but it still might be worth checking out as a long shot.
23. This looks like a pretty outstanding deal if you don't already own an MP Convoy or just want an extra one for that matter: MP-01 Convoy + MP-03 Starscream Combo Deal
24. i'm not sure if your link works. Are you saying Figure Oh comes with a free eva 00 clear or is it a mail-away item? i want it! 397168 I'm interested about that myself. Because if's a pack in with the magazine, it looks like i'll be picking up this issue in a heartbeat. Otherwise it looks like i'll just have to wait for the standard releases.
