this has been a pretty good show so far this year. i really expected it to suck, or be mediocre, but its surprised me. I'm hooked, and I'll keep watching. As a comic fan, and as a fan of rising stars, powers, watchmen, etc. ("realistic" superhero stuff), i'm liking the show and the way its headed.

The 300 GN was excellent. It was a great story, although not particularly accurate. I'm looking forward to this one.

I play, but i've been on for almost 3 months and only a 31. I have been moving real slow. I don't think i'll get BC for a while, at least until i hit 60. Its all high end content anyway.

While I love FF, A Link to the past, Ocarina of Time and the Wind Waker have made me love Zelda all the more.

Warhammer 40k Marines, Terminators, Dreadnoughts and IG Sentinels would kick ass.

yeah, Bendis has opened up the secret identity thing quite a bit, with Mary Jane, the deceased Gwen Stacy, SHIELD, The X-Men (hes currently dating Kitty Pride), and several of his enemies (Venom, Green Goblin, Carnage, etc.) know also. he still does an excellent job of showing Peter having to juggle the costume life and the normal life. Ultimate Spiderman took a bit of a dip there, but its still one of the best books out there.

The Ultimate Spiderman telling of the Venom Origin is actually much better. In that story, Peter and Eddie had known each other since childhood, but had not seen each other since the death of Peter's parents. The costume was the effort of eddies and peters fathers to produce a suit to replace the Super Soldier serum and to provide a cure for cancer. unfortunately, when peter tries it on, it becomes self aware and turns peter violent. Peter destroys one costume and eddie uses leftovers of that orginal to make another one. Eddie blames peter for stealing his birthright and thats where the motivation comes from. I know that retelling may have sucked, but Bendis did it right in the books. Check it out.

I just can't buy Tom Welling as Superman. He's too pouty, jowly and metro and his facial structure bears little resemblance to the Superman of the comics or Supes as I picture him, but I guess he works well enough for Metro-Superboy on the WB. I feel surprisingly more at home with Routh. My main complaint about him is that his Clark Kent was goofy and meek without being personable, but I put a lot of the blame on the writers, who didn't give Clark many lines at all. 412572[/snapback] I can agree with that, but it seemed that Routh didn't do anything to make the character his. He was impersonating Chris Reeves playing Superman, where as Welling seems to be actually Playing Superman.

Supes vs Lex and Kumar go to white castle: Island has the properties of Kryptonite. Superman becomes as weak as a normal man when subjected to kryptonite. Of course Kumar can kick his ass then. Supes vs a)flying a mountain of kryptonite to space: And this is why Supes flew into magma, under the bedrock of the island. He created a natural barrier between himself and the island kryptonite. It's when he's in space that the kyptonite starts getting through the bedrock and near him. b)...krytonite in him: are we watching the same movie? Lois yanked out and tossed away the fragment of kryptonite before Supes did the above. 412571[/snapback] A. When Supes is taking the mountain into orbit, that stuff starts falling off. And he still kept going!! The only thing that could have kept supes safe was lead, and from the very beginning of te lift, stuff is falling off the kryptonite mountain, to where it is almost touching him. B. When he gets to the Hospital, the Doctors take a small piece of Kryptonite out of him. You see them put it in a peitri dish.

a few thoughts. 1. It should have been Tom Welling. I've seen Smallville episodes that were better than this movie. Chris Reeves was GREAT. But lets move on. New movies, new Superman identity. The movie was not bad, but it didn't kick ass like Batman Begins did either. 2. The Kitsch sucked. Singer needed to move past it. This movie did nothing to make its own film. It piggybacked a 20 year old movie and tried to make it the basis. Nolan did the right thing rebooting the movies. 3. Clark could have died. No one cared or asked, hey where's Kent? 4. Richard Perry and Lois Lane got more character development than the main character. 5. Lex sucked. if you're gonna make a crappy Villain from the Supes Rogues Gallery, make is Toyman or Parasite or someone crappy like that. Lex could have been replaced by Bad Guy Leader #1. They wasted Spacey on this thing. 6. Ma Kent is apparently 80. So She had Clark when, in her 50's? Wow. How is that not suspicious. The ages of Clark's parents in Smallville make much more sense. 7. See Below Spoiler SPOILER . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . 7. A FREAKING KID? What the hell is this? wow. 8. He can't put up a fight against Luther and Kumar, but Supes can fly a mountain of Kryptonite into space? With Kryptonite in him? Again, an Okay movie, but it seems that they didn't try to think original too hard on the script, the movie relies too much on the old ones, and some of the actions of the characters are really unbelievable.

The Jack Bauer one interests me, but its still pretty pricey.

Serenity was good.

Miller has really dropped the ball on ASBAR (All Star Batman and Robin). the first four issues have been Batman and Robin driving to the batcave. thats it. Miller has fell off, but Lee is still kicking butt. the book may be bad, but its got some great Jim Lee art to keep me buying it. the All Star books have been chronically late (All Star Superman by Grant Morrison and Frank Quitely has been really good, whenever it comes out). The line was designed to be an ultimate DC line, like Marvel's, but that has failed. Bendis and Bagley have been kicking ass for a while on Ultimate Spiderman, and are rarely late, with no fill in artists. DC's one year later stuff has been pretty strong on the whole. Ion has been moving slow, but Kyle is my favorite character, so i'll bear with it. Teen Titans has been good so far. the undisputed champs, however, are the batman books by James Robinson (of starman fame) and the superman books by Geoff Johns (who writes everything DC puts out, almost) and Kurt Busiek (Marvels, Astro City, Arrowsmith). These arcs have been superb. check em out. 52 started slow, but i'll still be seeing where its going. Reboots are due for JSA, JLA, the Flash and Wonder Woman which should all kickass. Marvel kinda sucked it up with House of M (which has ASBAR-like pacing, really slow), but Civil War seems to be picking it up. I'll see what Millar has in store for Marvel. Again, if you are not reading DMZ, Fables, Queen and Country, Supergirl and the Legion of Superheroes, Supergirl, Invincible, the Walking Dead, Green Lantern, Ion and Powers, check em out. all are pretty worth it. BTW, Dynamite Press released a BattleStar Galactica comic #0 for 25 cents last week. I'll be checking it out. its based on the new series, not the OG.

I have purchased several sets of stickers from Devin, and i have never been disappointed. great jobs all the time, and i am hoping for a dynamite set for the new Stealths and low vis.

the B5 Starfury's, both the older one and the Ground attack one. Love the colonial Mk VII from the new BSG. the Ragnarok from FF VIII is one of my favorites too.
