  1. Those aren't aluminum though, they're made out of stainless steel and often laser engraved.
  2. Will those battroid legs fit on the fighter model? They're a little different.
  3. Dude how many uncompleted kits do you have? You got any pics of stuff you've completed
  4. Man it is difficult to keep a secret around here Yeah especially when you post it on your own website
  5. Ain't nuthin' wrong with sillicone 8
  6. The beauty of the rubber molds is that they're flexible so you can cast complex shapes and bend the mold when you want to pry out the parts. Metal molds you have to break the parts down into separate pieces.
  7. Oh those are pretty cool, I'd love the little regult kill markings for some of my kits.
  8. I'm in absolute HEAVEN! mmmmm 1/72 mmmmm gurgle....
  9. I'll take one! Oh and slight correction Jesse, this will be the second 1/72 production don't forget the 1/72 QF-9000 will be out before the booster.
  10. Here's a closup shot of the brass ends.
  11. Here's a shot of the main cannons. The very ends of the cannons were brittle and thin and not totally uniform so I cut them off and replaced with brass tubing. I bought the tubing at my local hobby store. I then cut some tiny pieces of it with my Dremel tool using a cutoff wheel. I super glued them inside the ends of the cannons (which just happened to fit perfectly). The brass was a bit rough from the cutoff wheel and not totally the same size so I cleaned them up a bit more with my bench grinder. After that I cleaned them up even more with my jewelers files. Sounds like a lot of work for such a teeny part but it wasn't that big of a deal and I really like how they came out.
  12. Well I finally got up enough nerve to try a resin kit. I gotta build em sometime . I decided for my first resin kit to tackle Cobywan's excellent garage kit of the 1/72 Lancer II kit. An obscure mecha that didn't get much screen time, but the more obscure the better for me anyway. I chose this kit because it is relatively straightforward with few parts and isn't quite as rare and challenging as my other kits I have. Some of which I'd kill myself if I screwed up. This won't be so much a step-by-step as it will be progress shots, should be pretty short work too since there's not too many parts. I scrubbed the model with a toothbrush and some dishsoap and then soaked it in soapy water. I filled and sanded the model with some putty in some areas and Mr. Surfacer 500 in others. I filled in the deep set holes for the semi-circles because I have decals for those, I think it will look better. At first I tried spraying with rustoleum gray primer because I had read you should primer resin kits. Well it didn't stick too well and I wound up wiping it all off with paint thinner. So I'm going with straight Tamiya acrylics and it seems to be sticking pretty good, it shouldn't be a problem after I coat it with future and then flat laquer finish. Another first for this model is pre-shading. The post shading I tried with my VF-1A CF's wasn't subtle enough for me so I thought I'd give this a try. Here's a shot of the main body with the top and bottom engine nacels (sp?) glued on.
  13. Only because they would overwhelm any opposition with vastly superior numbers.
  14. Got both the Gurab recast and the two tiny Ligaa recasts in the mail. Really well done, Jesse is quickly becoming a master caster Thanks so much Jesse and Neptune Survey
  15. They way those head lasers are pointed how would you ever hit anything with them?
  16. This is such an awesome place, we should definately have some merchandise to purchase to show our support and to support Shawn paying for everything. If nothing else to ensure the site stays put.
  17. What do you use to glue vinyl?
  18. Heh, so did it successfully "Guard" Minmei?
  19. Yeah seems like you could make some resin mod parts to stick to a standard regult to make the change instead of coming up with a whole model. I wonder if that would work. You know what else would be great is a light and heavy missile mod for the regults, now I know that would work. That's what they did with the 1/100's. Talk about quick and easy, can't believe no one has done this yet.
  20. Yeah I can't believe people are paying over 800 for that. It's like on the Antiques Roadshow, people have this great piece of Federal era furniture that would have been worth 250,000 dollars but since you had it refinished it's only worth 2,500. I don't care how stock it is, it's still been modified.
  21. Heh, that elint looks like it's been dunked in a vat of Future.
  22. I think the shading on the panel lines are a bit overdone on that one. How much did it sell for?
  23. I know I'll like it, you got a copy of my original so I've seen it.
  24. Oh brother you got yours before I got mine! You must live closer to the East Coast than I do.
  25. Good lord you've taken this to a high art form
