Cool, what details are you gonna add? Missile bays openning, working pilots hatch? With that scale you could go crazy with details.

It's not that big, I had that kit once, it's a Tamiya kit. Maybe 4 feet long at most.

Oh yeah, the old non transformable super valk, that's a good recomendation. They go for like 10-15 bucks on ebay so you won't feel bad if it doesn't turn out perfect. You can make them come out pretty nice lookin'.

Hey Dax, regarding the cockpit I think most of us here just brush that part, no need for a fine finish there.

I use between 25-35 PSI depending on what paint I'm using. Metallic paints I spray at higher PSI, they just come out better that way, don't know why. I use both Gunze and Tamiya acrylics. I used to use mixing pippets for mixing paints in spare bottles I had to get them ready for airbrushing. Now I just take a full pippet of Tamiya acrylic thinning solution and squirt it right into the paint bottle it came in. turns out that gives me a 3:1 mixing ratio works great for me. And I now use nothing but the color cup mine came with, so much easier to clean and much less waste. I use a Paasche Millenium with a fine tip for everything I do.

That fast packs came out really great looking, I always like flat finishes on 1/72 scale.

Yeah, the details are very shallow and then it looks like someone tried to clean up the flash on the kit and sanded off even more detail using very course sandpaper. The decals are also crap, looks like they were printed on a cheap inkjet.

I got one on Ebay recently and it's pretty much crap.
