  1. Your thinking of the small armored factory ones that came with little mecha, there was a set of 4. The 1/100 set was huge with all sorts of people and vehicles like a cherry picker and a personnel carrier and came with a 1/100 Tomahawk and a armored battroid.
  2. Oh sweet, really excited about this project, I've been wanting official Macross vehicles forever. I even tried to upsize the ones from the factory kit, one was a Cherry Picker, one was a generator vehicle and one was a personnel transport. Here's a pick of my lame attempt at the generator vehicle.
  3. You gotta be excited and relieved Rob, progress and pictures to prove it!
  4. It's a good thing I don't have his skills, if I did I wouldn't do anything but make my own collection of obscure Macross models, then I'd really be in trouble.
  5. Hey you did a great job on the Lancer without a big shop. I'm still waitin' for another great 1/72 model from ya.
  6. Super O uses the same parts at the knee
  7. Well it's a combination of both actually, it's designed to fit a regular fighter but with the bent knee joint from the super.
  8. OMG that looks awesome, don't change a thing, you are the right man for the job.
  9. Hey welcome to the forums, that's a sweet custom. Is that your build? Did you use Alclad laquers for the main thrusters? The subtle yellow is really nice.
  10. Any update on what happened on the 20th?
  11. A simple "I live in San Luis, CA" would have sufficed .
  12. Hey that's looking better!
  13. Why don't we just let John get started and do what he does best, make models, afterall he does do this for a living.
  14. Man that's the ugliest valk I ever saw.
  15. I like it already, if you can make it come out like the first picture I'll take two! I'm so excited I can't stand it.
  16. Looking good so far, keep the pics coming. Who makes this kit? Where are you from and who's the girly?
  17. The hardest of all destroids is gotta be the Missile Phalanx Destroid in 1/72 followed closely by the 1/72 Monster. Both very expensive, both Wonderfest exclusives. I got the Monster recast from Monkey Nugget which was actually improved from the original. Good luck in your quest, two of everything may be difficult and not necessary, i.e., the monster takes up a whole shelf in the closet, it doesn't have a fancy box either. So in order of rarity (in my opinion) and approx. value Phalanx $180-200 Monster $350-$400 Tomahawk $80-95 Spartan $50-70 Defender $40-$50
  18. I didn't know that with your expertise on 1/72 models you haven't figured that by now.. They also happen to be some of the hardest models to find ever althought they have been popping out lately on Yahoo Japan. I have the YF-19, 21 and VF-11 and they are outstanding kits...just keep in mind that this might be the only way to get a well done 1/72 scale VF-11 ever...and display them them aside the hasegawas... Luckily I found them fairly cheap... So let your hunt begin...you won't be dissapointed once you find them; I can guarantee you that... Well I knew the 19 had missiles and the pod but not all the openning panels and better detail. I guess since I had the Hasegawa version I never gave them a closer look.
  19. Are you into the Destroids at all? They've gotta be the most difficult to collect in 1/72 scale.
  20. Darn you Jesse, I didn't know all those details about the Club-M 19 and 21, now I'm gonna have to get them.
  21. Actually TV and DYRL is my favorite genre to role play, well that and just after the war, cleaning up rogue Zentradi, good fun.
  22. Here's a cheapy set of wood carving tools that work well too, I got them at Michael's crafts. Oh and a wet stone for sharpening is a good thing to have as well, I got one at Home Depot.
  23. Well I have several templates for making the shapes, one from Verlinden and one from Hasegawa. Here's my panel line and chiseling tools from Hasegawa. I just use scotch tape to tape the templates on the model and then very carefully and lightly I trace the shape and I just trace it over and over again. After it's scribed in there pretty good I remove the template and sand off the bumps with some fine sandpaper and then clean the panel lines with the scriber tool again. Oh can't stress enough how great a pair of those opti-visor magnifying glasses you wear on your head are, makes all the difference. I'm new at this so anyone have any tips on scribing feel free to share.
