  1. Pic 5 I used the Alclad Steel metalizer for the gunports and aluminum for the intakes. I love that paint.
  2. Pic 4 In this pic you can see that I left some shine on the top hatches to help break up the red. The panels on the rear thrusters also have this effect.
  3. Well I thought this would be an interesting kit to build, I don't think I've seen anyone else post pics of a completed one here. This was a very simple kit to put together but quality was definately sub-par, especially considering this is an original. Poor fit and lots of bubbles added hours to this build. The kit didn't come with any decals so I yet again had to dig into my spares box.
  4. Hello, welcome to the boards. Just FYI I only see 3 things on your list that actually have to do with Macross the rest looks like stuff from Robotech/Mospeada/Southern Cross.
  5. Great picture taking technique as well, I was sure when I first saw them that they were CG rendered. Can you take a pic of the pod farther back with the interior showing.
  6. Yup, I'd definately be interested in buying one.
  7. Yup those are the same as the Bandai kits, just repackaged and yes if you tried to play with them they'd break. Particularly vunerable was the connection points for the legs and the small hinge that connected the back pack to the main body. Broke every time. I still like these models though from a nostalgic standpoint and I thought the gerwalk mode looked pretty good. If you built them just so you could change the mode every so often for display purposes you should be ok.
  8. A month! my model closet can't wait that long for another box
  9. Awesome man! can't wait to see how it comes out. Ok so it's not wood, how did you cut the styrene so precisely?
  10. Looking good so far, how are you cutting that wood, it looks very precise? Is that balsa or basswood?
  11. What, no Samurai Monkey logo? Looks great though, love the Engrish
  12. Oh man, I have some sort of scar on every digit and movable part of my hands. Many were from when I worked at my dad's tool&die/machine shop during college, it was impossible to go through a week there without bleeding. Add to that all the DIY projects on my fixer house I bought plus all the modeling I do, I can't belive I still have all my fingers.
  13. Some of these are totally funny, this one's my favorite "The Ebola virus never actually existed. That's just what happens to your body naturally after Vin Diesel socks you good in the breadbasket. "
  14. That's a great build and appreciate you sharing the tips, looks pretty straightforward. One thing I don't get is the large gap between the intake and the rest of the leg?
  15. Super glue = bad idea, it will totally fog the clear resin you are trying to fix.
  16. Hey that's a good tip, I was gonna say layer using Future but nail polish would be thicker/quicker/harder.
  17. They're made by hasegawa specifically for the macross models. Search on eBay
  18. So when do you expect to make the first shippment?
  19. That's what I'd like to know, how the hell do you do recessed panels that are larger than a razor saw? I can scribe panel lines but seems like you'd have to chisel that out or something. What's the secret?
