1. Hi William, really excited your going to go with more than one design. I sent along those pics of my models with the samples you sent. Another good thing about the skull squadron logo is that it's used in two of the series Hasegawa makes models for; Macross Zero (the latest series and prequel to Macross) and the original macross series and movie. There's several reference books that should be readily available, the three I'd recommend are: Shoji Kawamori Macross Design Works Macross Perfect Memory Kazutaka Miyatake Design Works These contain every machine seen in the series and the "Do you remember love" or "DYRL" movie and a ton of prototypes that never made it onto film. As far as movies go I don't know of a place that rents them, but you should be able to get a sub-titled version of the DYRL movie for $15 bucks on ebay or any of the numerous anime stores online. Any recomendations people? As far as models go you can't go wrong with any of the Hasegawa ones. The two WMCheng recomends are from another Macross series you may not be familiar with called Macross Plus. It sounds like you've got plenty of modelling experience so if you want to start with a design more familiar to you then just start with any one of the regular (non-super or strike) versions of the VF-1's (A, J or S). These should be readily available and are a pretty straightforward airplane build with the high standards of Hasegawa.
2. I like that gray one better too. Personally I'm not that into kits that are this highly stylized. That painted one makes me think it's about to start break dancing and is winding up for a spin on its head from which it will pop up and say "You've been served." That's just not the feeling I'm after from a YF-19. Switch Blade also made a fairly stylized YF-19 too that I passed on. http://www.macrossworld.com/macross/models/wf/sbyf19.htm I now wish I hadn't as it was a variable kit and that makes up for the stylized aspect to me. But to each their own and I'm certainly not intending to knock Kantogakuindaigaku-Mokeidourakuka kits. That gray one conveys a very nice dramatic pose. Carl 322306 Exactly the same reasons I passed as well. The reason I like Macross is it's believability which the stylized versions don't convey.
3. LOL...yep...thats about the size of it! Im running for Board of Ed, Coaching Soccer, working towards my blue belt in Tae Kwon Doe, just got back from a 2 week California vacation...crazy is my life! 322261 Where'd you go on vacation in Cali? 322284 All over!!! It was a riot! We dragged the kids from San Jose, to San Fran, to Santa Cruz, to Monterey, to San Diego, and then to LA/Anaheim! It was a great time for the whole family. 322298 And you didn't even stop by and say hello, whatever...
4. The one in gray looks better than the painted one. Couldn't they find anyone to do a decent build on their very expensive kit?

6. Are you talking about the 1/48 VF-1s in Resin?
7. Sorry friend this isn't the right forum, 1/55 is a toy, you should post your question there.
8. Totally agree with HWR on this one, I have some extremely rare models and I plan to build every one. I'm just stalling cuz I'm afraid of messing them up.
9. Sweet I go on vacation and I have a new kit to order when I come back, thanks for the heads up.
10. The kit I used for the super armor on the Variable 1D I made was clearly ripped from another kit with a few modifications and had a Big West sticker on it.
11. Cool Ranger can you post a bigger shot of it?
12. I'm addicted to Battelfield 2 right now and and I play WOW on the side. Man that Battlefield 2 is a time sucker.
13. Read the first article on this one, clearly documents what a couple of dumbshits these two were. The death of their child had nothing to do with a game, it was the fact that they thought it was ok to leave a 4 month old infant by itself for any length of time. Had they gone to the movies for an hour or two and the kid died we wouldn't have heard anything about it. Games, movies, whatever, it was just a matter of time.
14. I would give my personal guarantee that you would get a tremendous response for the Cheyenne project! i would be so excited to see a Cheyenne... i think I just wet myself. 319450 Whoa! TMI
15. Exactly! I remember the last show of the A-Team I watched. The team shot down a helicopter and it smashed into the side of a cliff with a HUGE explosion. They cut away for a second and then cut back and showed everyone who was in the copter stumbling away from the wreck. It was at that point they surpased my threshold of believability and I never watched it again, I musta been 12 or 13 at the time.
16. No Kidding, whoever thought that was a great idea to make didn't check Ebay regularly.
17. I mean...it's ok if you're into that sort of thing...1/72 Macross models that is.
18. I'd wait for the model base, William is very serious about producing bases for us and this would be a great opportunity to kick off sales for him. My reasoning behind this is that the more we buy the more likely he'll be inclined to produce a larger more varied line of Macross bases for us.
19. I'm surprised no one has mentioned The Kentucky Fried Movie, man that was funny as hell.
20. Dullcoat is all I use for flat finishes on all my models. It's lacquer based and I spray it via my airbrush. I assume the finish will be pretty tough too considering that it's lacquer based but I could be wrong about that. Dullcoat is very very flat, which is why I like it but it sounds like that's not the case for you.
21. Why don't you make a circle barrier with folding chairs, that we people can sit and look at them but they can't get at them.
22. A standing batroid feet normally posed should be about 3" accross.
23. A CD is 5-1/2 inches more than enough room for a battroid or destroid to stand on in 1/72 scale.
24. 1/100??!! oh Ranger how could you
