Has anyone installed a hard drive (not the sony one) in the PS2 and run games from it? I am very interested in that.

I got the fatter PS2 modded with a second control and memory card for 260, 230 after giving my PS1. It runned some of my older PS1 game copies also it played the DVDs I had. I was able to play the six games I got for it with no problem. Starwars Battlefront, Dragonball Z Budokai 3, GTA: San Andreas, Resident Evil: Code Veronica X, Metal Gear Solid 3. I hope it keeps working fine, I left it at my parents home. I am in the states now and will not be able to play with it until june when I go back...

A friend told be there were problems also with the smaller PSone, those any one know it those problems were solved? that would mean some hope for the slimmer PS2

Ok guys, so is the recommendation so far to go for the older bigger model or wait, I am not planning on carrying it around the internet connectivity is a nice extra but I don't think I be using it that much,

Thanks for the advise, I think I can get the bigger PS2 modded with two controls for the the 210 or 220 here. I think i will buy it sometime this week as my birthday present. I can also buy some games when I go back to Texas and play them in my roommate PS2.

I have been reading reviews in the differents forums, their seem to be several problems with the new PS2. I dunno if I should go ahead and spent the money for the older PS2 that is already modded to play with until I go back to the states, it would stay here in my parents home anyway. I am between getting the modded fatter PS2 now or waiting and getting the slimmer PS2 when I in the states and bring it back home to get it modded.

I have been reading the post in the afterdawn forums that their are some ways of modding the PS2 slim. But the price of buying a new PS2 with the price of the modding is the same as the price of getting an old model here that is already converted, I think I will put it in hold and wait, I will buy the slimmer PS2 when I know their is a mod available in my country. The best thing of getting the PS2 in the states is because it will be brand new and be the slimmer version, here the modded playstations are sold kind of underground

What happen to the wheel??? Modding process?

I was planing on getting a Playstation 2 for my birthday but the only one that are selling here are the older version for a price of 200 - 210 dollars, the good thing about them is that they already include a mod chip because all the games they sell here are copies. I am thinking that it would be better to get the smaller PS2 the next time I go to the states, the bad thing it is that they don't have yet mod chips for the newer PS2. By the time I came back home from the state (like in six months) they might have already mod chips for the smaller PS2. Does any one know if mod disk are available for the newer PS2 to be able to play copies of both PSone and PS2 games. thanks
