  1. an Assault Suits Valken kit... it's looks like a Valkyrie kinda... will post pics when i get started
  2. i got my first resin kit today, and as cool as it is, i'm a bit intimidated... most of my experience comes from assembling bandai gundam kits, so a resin kit is very different... first off it doesn't snap together... i've got plenty of tools at home ranging from x-acto saw, sandpaper (yes wet/dry)... needle files, pin vise i've pinned small stuff (miniatures) but never at the model kit level kinda embarrased, but what glue do i use? i mean, plastic injection kits use plastic cement to "weld" pieces and super glue doesn't hold well when big right? do i use epoxy?
  3. i think i remember somebody saying these were very rare? i could be mistaken but i think i can get my hands on a shrink wrapped VF-1J and 2x VF-1D's are these the ones that are worth money? i tried looking for them in the Arii section of the page ... not sure, but i think they were http://www.macrossworld.com/macross/models/arii/76511b.jpg and http://www.macrossworld.com/macross/models/arii/76059b.jpg
  4. yeah blame us battletech fans... we've got all the destroids made.... www.brickcommander.com
  5. the professionals use aluminum putty and "green stuff" to my knowledge, your supposed to use baby powder to make CA powder
  6. thinkin very hard about this one... looks pretty good... will have to await more shots before making this decision. oh yeah, um will we be able to pick these up after they're released? cause i might just have to sit and wait for this one....
  7. any idea how big these tomy toys are?
  8. um guys? you know about this link right? the macross starships are down the middle column starting with Zentraedi Nupetiet-Vergnitzs (Flagship) 4km. http://www.merzo.net/10mpp.htm
  9. yeah, this one is by me. i'm still a newb at macross. heck, i'm still trying to track down the fansubs... (any help there? ) anyways... some feedback would be nice. pointers too please. especially the pointers.... i need some major improvement. btw, does anybody know how hard it is to say color like this in photoshop? (hard? kinda hard? not at all?) i figure that's the next step in my art to take... thanks all
  10. ahrg! - mods, please delete
  11. just kill me now. her stuff when she was 11 looks better than mine... granted... i do it for "fun" but wow. talk about talented. look on the bright side, at least i'm "published" now
  12. damn! carey that is sick!
  13. i love the VF-3000 it's so cool, like a beefed up VF-1 like Kawamori got everything right with his earlier designs and made the one try valk
  14. um, what about the injection molds on say a plastic bandai kit? sure you lose the ability to do undercuts... but i think a mold that lasts virtually forever kinda offsets more parts... we are modelers we can deal with more parts... i mean like a mastergrade kit for gundam isn't bad at all...
  15. hey guys, i don't know how to use photoshop yet, simply because most of my computer time is spent at school where they have no graphic programs... anways... i was just wondering what could be done with a peice of artwork i have. and how long it takes just color it up and stuff... maybe you could toy around with it? i'll post up a Veritech soon when they're finished... so, um, please? just toy around with this and tell me how to do whatever you did to it? thank you guys.
  16. i really don't understand that pic... would somebody pls explain?
  17. k, fill me in? what's going on? he modified a toy and he's getting black listed? or is this some sort of abhored practice...
  18. would somebody pls explain the "Hory Froating Head" issue? it seems like i'm missing a very important part of this joke... like the Domo Kun-kitten picture, is it something that i should have seen by now?
  19. first off the link http://www.griffinminiatures.biz/sci-fi-cravid.htm as you can see, these are from Robotech/Macross - called Invid i think... this company, Griffin Miniatures is calling them Cravid... i'm guessing a cross between the words (crayfish and invid? ) point is they are direct ripoffs from Big West material... just thought you guys might want a heads up... who knows... maybe i'll get some new Destroids and Veritechs to use in my BattleTech games... is this allowed at all? or do they not know any better?
  20. wow! he's so young... i guess we'll be getting quite a bit of stuff from him yet... so then he did the Valks like when he was 22? damn. waaaay better than where i'm sitting as an amateur at 21
