Your most recent Macross or toy purchase! General thread.

I always use washers just to be safe. I used anchor screws directly into a stud. Feels very sturdy. -

Just acquired an Elintseeker, the most expensive valkyrie that I've ever paid for. -
You got "offended" by that? Does someone in your family work for one of the mentioned toy companies or something? You really shouldn't let what I or anyone else says on here bother you so much. My bad, offended is too strong of a response. The comment just bothered me because it was overly belligerent and accusatory. I only wanted to clarify the situation.

I'm somewhat offended by this statement. Jetfire was officially licensed from Takatoku. Similar licensing was made for Shockwave and Omega Supreme from other companies. The only difference is Hasbro/Takara didn't have the animation rights to Jetfire. They didn't "rip" anybody.

I met this guy once. He said the truck driver that rear ended him was young and inexperienced. He was also lucky that his WRX was sitting slightly to the side so he didn't go under the trailer in front. There's a whole long thread about it on the Subaru boards. http://forums.nasioc.com/forums/showthread...highlight=wreck

I want to see this! How does something like that happen?

I love the book. How does the 2nd movie compare? Does it present any of the philosophy from the book? -
Shiney cars! Great pix. Any Toyotas? I have a few of those DVDs. I love the commentaries on the track. But I feel bad for the models constantly freezing their asses off.

It's got a long way to go. There's too much unsprung mass to make it worth replacing the stock suspension. But still cool nevertheless.

Crosscut is an EHobby exclusive that reissues a Diaclone variant of Skids we never had. He has a different head and includes a scooter. I'm hoping they'll release Wheeljack and his Diaclone variant too.

My Silverstreak is worse than Smokescreen. The joints are overly tight so I had a much harder time transforming him back into a car. I was afraid I would break him. -

I believe they changed Sunstreaker to Deadend because they didn't want two yellow toys (Tracks) on the shelf at the same time. However Hasbro is now saying they are releasing Tracks in blue while Takara will still release him in yellow. IMHO, Deadend looks much better than Sideswipe in car mode, the rear end is totally remolded and more aggressive. -
You can browse tfu.info to check on the parts. Pick up a copy of Toyfare for the prices.

It actually seems to me that the fenders aren't wide enough. If they were, the wheel offset would look better.

Oops, misread something before...

Woo hoo!! I received mine yesterday along with Sideswipe. Prime is awesome, I can't stop playing with him. He is very heavy, everything feels so solid. The truck mode is a little disappointing as there's little you can do with it but I do enjoy playing with the suspension. The cardboard trailer will need some glueing to make it fit nicer. I managed stop playing long enough to take a picture.

I got mine the other day. I have some chipping on his abdomen, which I must say is genius engineering. The chairs fold up to form the obliques. I can't stop playing with him. I only wished they'd included rotors and calipers as there is definitely room for them. I've seen the pictures of the Hasbro version. It looks like an uncared for car, the plastic sheen makes it look unwaxed. The Takara version has a nice deep metallic luster.

Intellectual property such as Valve's source code is usually secure on their systems. It's not something that's just left laying around. It sounds like the hacker found an unsecured port and installed a "root kit" on their system. This person basically probed their firewall for a security flaw, invaded their system and snooped around. Such a program may go unnoticed until somebody sees unusual network activity.

Looks like Optimus wasn't the only one to gain weight!

I say each has its use. The problem with the discussions on the Transformers forums are the snap judgements. It really irritates me when I have to read posts like "Hasbro ruined 20th anniversary Prime with diecast, I'm boycotting it!" It's so obsessively fanboyish. That's why I refrain from posting on those sites. The whole issue seems moot to me anyway. The polls for the annivesary figure suggested the majority wanted diecast so that's what we're getting.

I voted M+ but I'd prefer a VF-4 and VF-2SS first. Those fighters need toys!
-
Jetfire reminds me of G1 Skyfire, at least the back of the shuttle does. Megatron/Galvatron is looking awesome. I wonder if the toy will look that good. Unicron looks bad. I don't like the colors.
-
I think Primes is supposed to be 1/24 and be in-scale with the Alternators. He's going to be available at Toys R Us first, then everywhere else. Furthermore, as an anniversary toy based on polls held on all Transformers sites, Prime has all the goodies we asked for. I don't foresee any differences between the Hasbro and Takara versions except for minor paint applications.

Just buy a Hikaru VF-1S Banpresto or whatever those were. It'll fit in with the rest of these Transformers. Not really, the Banprestos are around 4" tall and the WST are just over an inch. Oops! Now that I got a chance to compare them..... Well, the Banpresto is kinda in scale with the Autobt cars.
