Someone broke my BP8 when they attempted to transform my valkyrie without permission. Is there any replacement BP8 parts these days? Original, recast, or shapeways perhaps?

wasn't there a replacement parts junker thread somewhere here? or someone was recasting it (though not sure if a resin version would be strong enough)? I need that fixed on mine too.

That's funny; When I saw the new Powerglide mistransformed with the wings angled outward like that, it immediately reminded me of when I was a kid and it REALLY BUGGED me that the promo pics for the original G1 Powerglide were ALSO MISTRANSFORMED exactly the same way in the original G1 CATALOGUE! Looks like Hasbro is remaining true to it's classic line, even in the way they mistransform Powerglide, lol: Also, personally, I like the G1 Powerglide Jet proportions WAAY better than the new one, particularly the longer wingspan. The new one is a bit stubby. Also, for some reason, this new version reminds me of a VF-4 in bot mode.

Yeah, that's my line art. I used a fan-made paint program at KUPIKA.com to draw this Prime. That website has little 10 year olds that draw like seasoned pros. Check out their artworks (mostly anime girls). I am at awe in the wake of their talents. I wish I could draw like them. My Prime isn't really accurate to the cartoon. It's just how I remember parts of Op from my head. I know I think the forehead vent thing is too big, the helmet is inaccurate, and there's too much "face" space around his eyes or something. And I don't even know if his ears (antennae) are right. I can't ever remember if Prime has one set or two sets of antennae. This attempt at G1 Prime from my head isn't accurate; cuz I've never bothered to learn G1 Prime officially. Lazy.

eh, these toy prices are nuthin compared to pre-yamato days.... I remember when you were lucky to get a genuine macross chunky monkey for $300. Supers went upwards of $800. Strikes at $1000. Ostrich's and Elints at $3000! Heck, even if you settled for a joons, at least $100, or around $200 or more for a Jetfire. For what you get now in features and detail, and the much much lower price, you're gettin off easy! But, alas, cheaper may they be, the hole in my pocket feels your pain.

Behold, the Macross! If only I had had a decent camera and paint program back then. I was using the equivelent to a crappy camera phone for hardware, and edited on crappy trial paint program that reduced picture quality when you clicked "save" (to force you to buy the full version that didn't reduce quality). I was running Windows 3.1 at the time. eek! The toys above are all gone now, with exception for the 1990 reissue. I miss taking pics like that. The digicam I have now doesn't let me take close-ups of toys.

well at least I know it wasn't just me. For a minute there I thought I was being a bad daddy to my little valk babies. I wonder now, though, if the 1/48's will ever yellow. Obviously different grade plastic, but still I wonder. (hope not!)

I LOVE that episode. Especially later (I think the same episode) when Milia flies in with her beautiful red VF-1J. I may be wrong, but I think that may be the only post SDFMacross series that feature old skool mecha (besides the VF-1 victim in MacPlus). I could be wrong though. (and I'm not counting the modified space whaling Ostrich and other VF's in Mac7 Dynamite.

IF they release Roy's VF-1S as a TV scheme, they should not only include a tv Purple Roy figure, but also, if they release TV fast packs, the fast packs should come with a TV Hikaru (since he's the one that actually flies the fast pack version). Wouldn't that be cool to be able to display the original Skull Leader with purple roy at it's command? And then later replace pilot with TV Hikaru and TV fastpacks? That'd look so cool. I haven't done a search, but I wonder if anyone has customized their 1/48 Roy with TV packs and a TV Hikaru? (hint: pics pls, anyone).

Custom Uses for the 1/144 Popy Valks: You can hang these off your christmas tree as christmas ornaments! They'd also make cute earings. You can also sprinkle them on top of salad. Your wife can use them to play a trick on you by hiding your 1/48's one day when you're asleep and replace them with the Popy's so you wake up and wonder if your valks shrunk or did you just get bigger. Then you can sell the rights to an original movie starring Rick Moranis titled, "Honey, I Shrunk the Valkyries." Also, if you are left home alone you can spread them accross the floor to deter would-be home invaders from entering your domice successfully as they slip and fall flat on their backs when they accidentally step on them. If you have a cold or viral infection, you can inject them into your bloodstream so they can make internal repairs to your immune system and give you secret super powers by tapping into your muscular, endrocine, and central nervous systems. You can put them on a hook and catch fish with them. You can go to your local restaurant and order some soup, and when no one's looking drop one of these in your bowl and flag down a waiter to complain, "excuse me, but there's a valk in my soup," and you'll get your meal for free! Also, if you sprinkle some on yourself and think of happy thoughts, you can fly! My apologies. I just think these valks are too cute. And I'm bored.

That looks so awesome. I want one! How'd you make the head? I still have an original Chris Barreta 1/55 VF-1D head I've never used from like 1998 or so. I'm old. and calling me a procrastinator is rhetorical on MW.

Well, when I first bought the 1A at the early part of this decade, I displayed it for about 2 years in battroid mode atop my piano. Average room temperature (not hot at all, nor cold). Average indoor humidity. No where near a sunlit window. After 2 years the valk went into a plastic storage bin that was closed. I was rummaging through stuff looking for phatslappy's missle pod when I came across my old valk in the bin. That's when I noticed the yellowing.

Was looking at the remains of my macross junk. My Hikaru 1/60 VF-1A (which has been in dark storage since I bought it long long time ago) has severe yellowing now on certain parts of it. Oddly, on the head, only the right half of the head is yellowed (evenly), while the left half looks bone stock white. Other various pieces here and there are yellow, while the other pieces remain white. Almost as if two different plastics were used. Didn't think yammie plastic would yellow this "early" (I think it's been 7 years now, though. Wow, time goes so fast.)
