I take it that the method you saw is at the bottom end of the 3D printer market?
I sent off for a couple of free samples years ago when I first heard about the technolgy and while the detail and such was good and impressive they were only ever meant to be conceptual pieces for showing new products to clients etc.
To get something capable of producing spare parts for toys on a whim you'd need a hace of a lot more I imagine, I keep meaning to look it up again but I don't have the time.
Does "Devil Fish" ring any bells with those who have seen it all?

I've only seen up to 40 & I don't recall any machine with this name, so please don't post anything really spoilerish if it's from after that.
So perhaps the real question we should be asking you is which posts are you laughing at now?
Shaggy, I aggree with your principle of unessacary gimmicks weakening the basic solidity of the toy but I don;t think these "special features" that Graham has hinted at are going to be anything that will massively impact on the structure.
I'd like to go with,
Removable magazine
Storable magazines
& rotating seat in cockpit
Graham,
I have no idea whether or not you can answer this but just what does that thing on the inside side of the legs do?
It's just under the screwhole near the top and in some pics it's pushed in and in others it isn't, there's no consistency and I can't even begin to work out what it's for.
Cheers
Mark
The official webiste for the TV series is up, it starts Oct 4th and airs at 1:30am in the morning!
Guess it's only aimed at the really hardcore fans then.
From the cast list on ANN it's defintely a retelling of OG1 which is fine with me.

Not much there at the moment...
About 30cm tall but I don't know if that's to the top of the head or the shoulders...
It could end up being as big as Masterpiece prime which would make him a formidible center piece for any super robot collection.
I think that the tower will be inculded because it looks like it's been manufactured but the RX's and base were probably mocked up for the diorama.
They could still be included, the base could just be a bit of card in the bottom of the box but I'm not going to raise my hopes for that.
Has the filler season ended yet?
I gave it a fair go, really I did but it just couldn't keep me watching. Last oen I saw was the episode where they were in an endless museum or something of that nature.
Some people still do and being used to it doesn't make it any less unpleasent.
And with that Nintendo just scuppered my hopes for a zeldafull christmas. The price tag is too much for my parents to afford especially since my little brother back at home also wants one and a copy of Zelda.
The machine being region locked on top of that is just a kick in the teeth.
I was hoping for easier access to future SRW titles...
*Not happy*
Edit: Gah, it gets worse, the Australians apparently get the machine for twenty quid less and a day earlier...
The euro details just came out, it costs more then predicted which is typical really.
December 8th 2006.
EUR 249 / GBP 179
Bundles is white console, one Wii remote, one Nunchuck, Wii Sports.
Between 49 and 59 Euros for software. 34 for 39 pounds.
Metal Gear 4 is the one and only must have game for me but I won't pay $600 to play it.
I may even just rent a machine when that game comes out in the UK.
Unfortunately you probably are, no series other then CCA is currently listed for Pros.
But they will do 0083 sooner or later and there had better be a Gerbera Tetra or there's gonna be trouble.
