  1. I got this off the Lucasarts site: Guess this means no more X-Wing games instead we're stuck having to pay to play after buying the game. I really miss the X-Wing games
  2. Got this off the tech tv site: Looks like you do get control your wingmen. There's a new trailer up at the US site as well, and for all of you YF-13 lovers it's in the trailer.
  3. How can a VF-0 be part of a Space Proving Wing? It uses jet engines, unless at some point the VF-0 got the nuke engines and I missed it.
  4. For this I just have a big Huh?
  5. Wow...I've got to get one I've got so many customization ideas.
  6. I know the Y-Wing is an older fighter, I just didn't think it was 20 years old. Z-95s and Vic Destroyers could defintly be in there though
  7. I'd love to have a couple in the 1/60, I'm not sure my modding skills are up to building my own.
  8. You're absolutley right it has been debated, but how does it hurt you if people are willing to discuss it again. So as is often heard around here if you don't like the topic don't post in it.
  9. I think Dave has got a good idea, I personally would like one with the dark grey of an F-15E. Of course having a different color scheme would suck if you wanted the VF-1J to be the section or division leader for your 1A
  10. I know we had the thread a while ago about the VF-1 and it's color, well I got to thining after reading that thread (we basiacally decided in space who cares) it go me to thinking, a VF-0 spends all of it's time in the atmosphere, so shouldn't it have a nice gray paint scheme, like a modern day fighter? What do ya'll think? p.s. I don't think the blue is that bad, but I would think the purple and white woudln't work to well.
  11. I was at Best Buy yesterday, despratly looking for a flight sim that wasn't WWII, and came across Jet Fighter IV and Lock On, I was wondering if anyone had played them and if they're good or suck or what?
  12. Why wouldn't all Valks be built by the same company?
  13. Anybody know any good 1/72 or 1/60 Modern Military Vehicles (M1s, F-14s, etc.) I'd like ot have some to got with my Valks.
  14. That's in an M-1. In the Soveit/Russian T-90 there is an automatic loader.
  15. SOooooooooooo....Are you completley disagreeing with me, or just on the heat shield? Because if it's just the heats shield, I went off of what I saw in the series, I have no clue on the actual science to back it up (well at least not past a basice college physics class)

The VF-0 Dosen't use Nuke Engines it uses JET engines, they don't work in space
  17. In one of the later episodes (I'll try to find it later) I be;ieve its the only one in the series in which we see Hiriku with FAST packs, he closes the heatshield as he enters the atmosphere to save Misa. Besides you don't leave the heat shield closed, you only close it as you enter and exit the atmopshere and the heat builds up, you fly by instruments for those few minutes, once in space or in the atmosphere you open it back up.
  18. I got to thinking about this. I think the VF-1 can make low Earth but needs refueling to break orbit. Here's my reasoning: 1. We know the VF-1 has a heat shield so that it can make atmospheric reentry or exit. 2. It would be stupid to have a fighter that you can't recover without sending the Carrier into the atmosphere to pick up the fighters. 3. Sending the Carrier down to pick up the fighters would make it very vulnerable. 4. There's no reason there's couldn't be some sort of tanker to refuel the VF-1, we never see any landing craft or Search and Rescue ships's either. I think when VF-1s are sent inot atmosphere and need to be retrieved in a hostile enviroment, tankers are used to refuel them once the VF-1s make low orbit and then the VF-1s continue on to a Mothership. The scene with the Valk booster is to get the VF-1s into a higer orbit on their own, without Tankers. In Ep. 3 I think Roy's VF-1 was still in the atmosphere when it boeded the SDF-1 because Roy never closed his heat shield, which would be needed in order to break atmosphere.
  19. I think the concepts are cool, but the girls would be better in my opinion if they were less Anime and more Vargus
  20. I always assumed that the VF-1 could reach low to medium orbit, but not meduim to high orbit
  21. I don't know, I think it's fine that Roy flew with Skull, but for me Skull is not a reincarnate of the Jolly Rogers, in my view: As the UN wars heated up, a new Tomcat squadron was formed, some wannabe's liked the Jolly Rogers Insignia (VF-84 never would have been decommissioned nor would have VF-103 in the Macross Universe) so they called their Squadron teh Skulls and then became famous in their own right later on.
  22. My thought on that is: I dont see why not, but I'll bet there is one heck of a power drain from firing both at once
  23. I had a couple of those too, they were great. Not to Hijack the thread, but does anyone else rember a line of toy spaceships, that used magnets as a gimmick, they had magnets on the bottom of the ships, and the figures had magnets on the bottom of their feet as well (I think there was a cartoon as well)
