Anybody think about how freaking dumb a callsign of Starbuck would be? I get why it's the name of the character, but if it were a completley original show, do you think anyone would have really used Starbuck for any type of show (excluding ones in which you chase white Whales)? BTW I thought the show was incredible, I have none of the baggage of the old folks on the board, I've seen the original BSG for the first time in the last week, and it blows.

Loved that sim, whish there was an update for it like XWAUpgrade.

First thought: Today was the first time I have ever seen the original BSG, I can't believe it stayed on TV for even a full season, it's horrible. 2nd thought: The rearward visiblity in the Vipers is horrible, the seen in the mini-sereies where Apollo is trying to dodge the nuke really showed this.

You still have to be dependent free and you have to be under 25 to attand one of the academies. You only partially correct about ROTC (including both NROTC and AFROTC) some guys do get 4 and 2 year scholarships, alot of us don't (like me ) we pay our way through school and get a $100 stipend, I know alot of future officers that are delivering pizzas to make ends meet. Sorry, it's been a few years since I was in and I was only a poor working enlisted stiff. Nothing to apologize for. I was just clarifying, you had the main point right.

Not the way our goverment works, but I guess we could try a miltary dictatorship, see if anyone likes that better. The civilian leadership is in charge, they decide the budget and the military is forced to work within the constraints provided by the civilian leadership.
