For the first time I tried gundam weathering markers. It looks kinda gloopy but as I use them I'm sure they'll start coming out better. Tips or tricks anyone?

Here's a kit I just finished. I did this, don't laugh, to warm up for a VF-0 I'm gonna start here soon. Why the warm up? Well my last few kits have been resin so I wanted to prep my mind set to Hase plastic kits. So as usual I present you this kit for your cheers or jeers. Thanks

great work. you take awesome clode up shots too, it looks real sweet

I can't believe I forgot to thank Valkyrie for the kit. with out him I never would've had an affordable shot at this build. Thank a lot, Valkyrie.

congrats, to you and his mum. let the adventure begin. enjoy, mate

I do the same thing, I wonder if theres a modelspeak term for it?

This thread is blowing my mind. Its such an inspiration. I was stuck in my skill set but thus getting bored and frustrated, now I'm inspired to keep on truckin and hopefully advance my skill set. Thanks everyone whos been posting.

wicked tight piece. I'll be studying your pics for when I do mine. Thanks

I painted it by hand. Years of painting space marine minis pay off. I'm good at small details its the big area shading I'm still trying to master, if you could believe it.

Here's the last one until I get my base. I urge modellers to seek out this kit, it's a welcomed change from VF-1's and super sleek, but most importantly fun to put together. One last note I'm still struggeling with adding the cannon. what do you all think? it's a sweet looking cannon but I feel it may take away from the sleekness

I was soo paranoid about doing this cockpit. I dedicated half my modeling day to putting it together. My lack of experience with vacuformed cockpits reared its ugly head put was easily tamed with elmers glue and a toothpick. I am very proud of my first vacuformed cockpit. when I show it to my chums, like a proud school kid, I must point out that its my first.

I had a gret time putting this piece together, reaserch was a pain so I figured cannon fodder is about as generic as it goes. The more I thought about it the more I liked it the paint scheme is beutifuly simplistic

poor lighting+little photo skill= doughylooking bottom. Its wierd how lighting makes models look completely different than in life. it looks like cookie dough for a fuselage.

I'm waiting for my base to get cut, aluminium bases are a fringe benifit of working at an LCAC facility. I'll give a final shot when the base is cut, until then heres the final product. Cheers or jeers are accepted

great work, thanks for giving us the link to your weathering techniques. whats next for you?

tight looking piece. what did you use for the recesses for the black on the tail? did you move white powder or liquid in there? I look foward to more of your clean style, whats next for you?

Hmmm now I kinda feel like a skinflint in these boards now. 100 IS a very fair price I guess I wish it was more available like hasegawa kits. I get it that resin kits are more in the price area,I prefer resin in alot of cases. Maybe I shouldve re thought my post and put it it the where do I get one direction. I'll keep looking I guess, and pput more thought into what I mean in my posts.

i clip stick pins for smaller parts and big paper clips for biger parts if its a really big piece i use multiple pinning points just take your time with lineing them up man thats the worst when your of a smidge. oh ya, do you feel the jealosey in the air over your cats eye?
-
There must be an affordable way to recast or get a styrene version of the cats eye made to cast affordably. It all stems from does any one have one to start off of course. I hope we could all somehow come up with an idea to get this out to all the macross fans who may not have 100+ dollars to spend on a cats eye. I just would like the opportunity to add the cats eye to my collection. I know everyone has projects that their knee deep into and dont have the the time to work on this, but please just keep it in the back of your heads.
