If it's the suvastika, remember that it was a symbol used before the nazis. Besides it's the reverse swastika, which has a different meaning. See Blade Of The Immortal manga. There's the Old World Swastika, and there's the Nazi Swastika... two very different symbols if you know the differences. Key here: The Nazi Swastika is tilted 45 degrees, the Old World Swastika more often than not sits on one of its four edges. Actually, the Suvastika (long before those goose-stepping bastards ruined it ) was a symbol of good luck -- fertility -- the sun all over the world. They've found artwork from American Indians, Indian Indians, Irish, Celts, Picts, Gauls, Saxons, Germans, Vikings, Native Australians, Japanese, Chinese, Tibetans and Egyptians all using variations on the same symbol. And tilt or arm direction is not a safe way of discerning the benign symbol of good luck from the malign symbol of genocide. About the only way to discern the symbol's meaning is look at who's using it and why.

I've still got a few of those floating around my house. They were definetly a cool toy line back in the day.

Ooooooooooh yeah...That episode (and the one just before it where Jeanne is promoted) led me to remark "This is what would happen if they drafted Minmay!" As for the glitches, I was thinking of using ADV's trade-in deal, but thought that it wasn't worth it. The glitches are pretty tame and last for only a few minutes on two episodes.

Macross DYRL Super Poseables Set 1 Revised
Pat Payne replied to VALKYRIE-EXCHANGE.COM's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
Care to share any of BoK's fantasies with the rest of the class? And they actually called him the "Robotech Panel?" -
But there are other considerations as well. Some of those parts may affect the weight distribution or aerodynamics of the plane. You can't just chop off random bits of an airframe and expect it to fly just as well as the whole fighter. Further, when Hikaru was falling into the atmosphere, He REALLY did need those arms. Assuming that the outer skin of the Valk is heat-shielded (it'd have to be), the Zents gave him (at no extra charge) two gaping holes where his valk's arms shoud have been, causing the Valkrie to burn up from the inside (For a real-life [and extremely tragic] example, consider what happened to the Space Shuttle Columbia.)

[Hitchcock] And nahw, Ladiesh ahnd Gentlemen, thish ish the part of the programme where the plot thickensh...[/Hitchcock] -
At least apochryphally, Komirya did join up in the non-BW video game Macross Love Song 2032 (name right?). As for the others, very little has been said about all of them except Emiria and Mylene.

I've got one cell of Lum-chan, which I enjoy very much. I've wanted to get a Macross cell (particularly from DYRL) but I like using my arms and legs too much

That is extremely well-done. One thing though...I don't remember anywhere in the TV show where any Valk had the "cord-handle" ejection seat triggers like that. Actually, it'd make sense if the Valks did...

He's angry about that??? Here I thought someone had cried "Deus Voit!" ("God wills it!," Urban II's words that launched the First Crusade, 1098) or "Allahu Akbar!" or something like that in a thread. The thing is, I think GM has been a little touchy about religious things because he's come across some people who are just as enthusiastic as him in the other direction (i.e. hard-core athiests who will brook no evidence that people do believe in religion and are quite happy thankyouverymuch) and it distresses him. He is rather devout, after all (not a bad thing, but it can be carried too far at times) My own opinion is that both have to take a pill. On the one hand, GM should grow a little thicker skin (some advice I could take on occasion, BTW ) and realize that some trolls will latch onto his Christianity to cause trouble. However, that doesn't mean that we have to excise every mention of religion if it incidentally impacts on a thread topic. And he was laying it on just a tad thick for some's comfort for a while. On the other hand, those who kept razzing him mercilessly in another thread (don't remember the specific one) because he was open about his faith need to get a life. Religion exists (whether or not God exists is still an open [unanswerable? ] question), and people do believe. Why should people's faith offend them so much if they personally don't believe? EDIT IN: Ooooooooookay...I have to admit I missed that post. That is a little creepy, and even though I'm not terribly religious, I don't want to be praying to a guy who created a TV cartoon any more than I'd erect a temple to Gene Roddenberry...

That's the one I got expressly to play Macross DYRL. It's really easy to program: 1. Open and close the disc tray (make sure there's no disc inside) 2. Press "Menu" and "1" and "9" 3. This should bring you to the programmer's debug screen. Highlight the region setting and set it for whichever region you desire, or "0" for all regions. 4. Press enter. 5. Pop disc in. 6. Sit back in leather armchair, with velvet smoking jacket, fez, Meerschaum pipe, cravat and snifter of fine brandy while watching Crayon Shin-chan.

Because there was only one which crash-landed on Earth. There were a few other ships with the SDF designation, namely the Megaroad class (at least 14 of 'em), yet they aren't quite the same as the Macross.

Space Battleship Yamato Movies DVD Box
Pat Payne replied to Anubis's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
The first one is a straight compilation movie (even more so than Gundam, which sprinkled new animation in with the TV footage). All of the others are new stories, although Farewell Yamato [the second movie] was turned into a TV series after the film's release. I'd stay away from the discs, though. After a crummy experience with the first Yamato disc (in my DVD player, the picture kept breaking down after the layer change int he middle of the movie) I've sworn off Voyager's DVDs. -

My eyes! MY EYES!!! Oh...My...Dear...Lord...No. That is so #@$%ing wrong on so many levels. I'd almost say that's fractionally worse than the Holiday Special, because there, at least, they were able to put a gun to Harrison Ford's head and have him do his only IIRC TV appearance. Paul Lynde (For those unfamiliar with the name, he was the uncle on Bewitched) as an Imperial Officer?!? Red Foxx as Obi-Wan Kenobi?!?!? Kris Kristoferson as Han Solo ?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!? DANCING STORMTROOPERS!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!? It's official. Jar-Jar is NOT the worst thing in the SW universe. By a long shot.

Yes...and no. There's a mini ("micro") -series called "Clone Wars" which is a part of the expanded universe, but might also be canon depending on Lucas' whim. EDIT IN: Damn you, Jolly Rogers! Damn youuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuu.....

Then again, Vampang, Max is in his 50s and he still looks pretty young for his age...

I'm surprised. Given how they were treating Osaka's Osaka-ben accent in the manga, I thought they were going to give her a New Yawk accent. -
Harmony Gold & Toynami releasing DYRL? Toys
Pat Payne replied to Duke Togo's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
IIRC, sometime in June. I'd be interested in going to this AX just to hear his lame explanation. -
Have to admit, that'd be an interesting experiment. However, I don't think it'd do anything, as waterslide decals and adhesive stickers are two different animals.
