  1. But why was it in Howard's chest-o-stuff when Tony had it in the first movie?
  2. yeah, that was easily the heart of the movie but I thought it just got diluted with all the other story lines. I think they just cut too much stuff out to get a shorter run time. I really think the stuff with Pepper would have been better if they had kept all the flirty stuff that was shown in the trailers
  3. well, the mk III is just a materials change and a new paint job on the mk II and it still got it's own designation, the suitcase is unlike any of the other Iron Man suits, the mk V designation makes perfect sense.
  4. but... HoveringCheesecake is AWESOME
  5. no, it's the VI. I is the first suit II prototype/warmachine III final suit in first movie IV is the replacement to III and used in most of iron man 2 V is the suitcase suit VI is the new suit to accommodate the triangle chest piece.

    VF-1A Max TV

get it, Max kicks much ass
  7. thought it was meh. Went in with low expectations. I felt like they tried to juggle too many balls and ended up losing a lot of the magic and chemistry from the first movie. Action was good and the black widow sequence was great.
  8. Well... materials: the plastic is brittle compared to previous kits. I've had several parts fail just from the stress of construction, multiple cracks on the hand units and some of the c-clips on the legs. Detailing: The 00 really suffers here. The completed frame is really lacking for details and detailing. If you look at the Strike or Mk II the frame is covered in mechanical details, little opening and closing bits, pistons and other bits that slide or fold as you move the frame. That's almost entirely nonexistent on the 00. The armor is lacking as well. Other PG kits have opening hatches or armor that slides around as you pose the frame. Again, nearly none of that. The push locks, neat idea but in reality it just makes posing a chore, especially since you need to first move the GN drives out of way and then flip up the shoulder pauldrons to get to the shoulder lock. And then the knee and elbow joints have non push locks supplementing them, so what's the point? And the supplemental knee joint is a ratchet but because the entire ratchet joint is made of the same material you eventually wear down the teeth and it's no longer a ratchet. And if the push lock fails because you accidentally push too hard on it, it becomes a super floppy friction joint that doesn't even have a poly cap to help out. and just a minor nit pick Design: the light module in the head requires a knife or some other small instrument to pry it out of the head.
  9. Half the astray is a retool of the Strike and the PG 00 barely qualifies for "PG" so if that's going to be the trend I could care less what the next release will be.
  10. I loved the politics stuff. In most every other sci-fi show it's a simple dichotomy: military good, civilians bad. BSG is one of the few shows that portray that relationship in shades of grey.
  11. New Dragon Age DLC details announced:
  12. his pre bay-formers stuff was okay, then he just got all bitter.
  13. hahaha, man... at that point, why even bother?
  14. I dunno, people bought the 1/60 vf-1, then they bought the 1/48 vf-1, then they bought the new 1/60 vf-1 and now they're saying they're going to ditch that line and buy the bandai hm 1/100 vf-1...
  15. And the white washing continues, I mean, 21 was a story about mostly asians and they turned nearly everyone white and now they're saying Mickey Rourke is going to be Genghis Khan. Imagine if they made a George Washington movie and cast Forest Whitaker as the titular role? How many of the people who mouth off saying we have out "panties in a bunch" would be out there screaming their little heads off?
  16. but that's not really true either... Bad Boys, Bad Boys 2, I am Legend, those were all big hits and featured a mostly minority cast. And then there's just changing demographics... America is becoming less "white" all the time.
  17. you know, that "only white casts get the money" argument is bogus. Denzel Washington and Will Smith get huge dollars but if they were cast for say... Captain America or King Arthur, imagine the rage. But that's all this is, when it's some white guy cast as persian, asian, hispanic, etc, it's all about, "oh, well, that's just the system, blah blah blah" but when it was Will Smith as captain america, an actor who has the charisma, athleticism, acting chops and box office draw but isn't white? Rage, internet fanboy hypocritical rage.
  18. Why? The pre-existing armor suck. The ridiculous partial clam shell leg armors requiring ankle guard removal, the clip on arm armor that breaks the transformation, missing details, the raspberry basket missile bays, the shoddy way it attaches to the valk itself causing stress and leading to cracks and breakages... who wants to save that crap? Besides, one of the major flaws of the dx vf-25 is that they changed the transformation so that the legs are slung under the body of the valkyrie instead of raised up becoming nacelles. If they make the legs transform correctly none of the current leg armor designs would be able to accommodate the wing glove in fighter mode.
  19. That 1D shot looks great, reminds me of 70's rockstar portrait shots
  20. I think the morality of the story got lost when it was hollywoodified. The original story is much more of lampooning of impotent adolescent boy rage and Hit-Girl acts as a great foil to that. But the movie really just dumps that and replaces it with typical hollywood blah blah blah
  21. cool, the higher chest and stocky shoulders really gives the HM vf-1 a beefy look.
  22. Well, in terms of production dates, Porco is closer to Kiki than Mononoke Hime. But I think Kiki marks the commercialization point for Miyazaki while Mononoke ushers in the jaded period where he stops looking at kids as innocents but rather as just another symptom of society's woes.
