  1. making peter a whiney emo bitch is the only thing the spider man movies got right.
  2. No, think you make a good point and I think even going by the anime the vf-27 is supposed to be more of an interceptor than a dog fighter/superiority type role machine. Most of the times we see the 27 in action, it's not in the middle of things, it's on the periphery taking pot shots while the 25 does most of the heavy lifting.
  3. the first production jet fighter had wing mounted engines, the Me 262. And the vf-27 is pretty obviously a call back to the sv-51 design which had wing mounted booster packs.
  4. put it on the low viz vf-1s!
  5. That's not what I'm saying at all but if a valk can carry a sniper gunpod, it could just as easily carry a shotgun gunpod. And even in Mac+ we see the yf-19 with that heavy weapons thingy on its arm. I'm just saying I'd like to see valks with mission specific missiles/bombs and other specialized gunpods.
  6. I don't see a problem with it. I'd love to see vales have all sorts of alt payloads. Mac+ talked about non traditional roles for vales, I'd love to see a valk outfitted for such duty.
  7. it's a cartoon and they look cool. If you want valks to have a space p90 because they look cool, no argument, if that's what you like, that's what you like. But to say a valk needs another close in weapon when most already have laser, machine guns and the gunpod... why do they *need* another close range weapon? But if you're going to bring up RL soldiers. Not even every RL soldier gets a sidearm. And stuff like hand guns are only really effective against soft targets. A small caliber, low velocity round usually means squat against anything with armor. So why, on a machine where weight is a premium commodity, would you load it down with a redundant weapon when that extra space and weight could be better served with more ammo or a back seat handy for smart but annoying sidekicks or your alien hybrid pop idol girlfriend?
  8. for most valks, their gunpod IS their close range weapon.
  9. Meh, I'm sure the success of iron man 2 will mean comic book adaptations will still be coming fast and heavy.
  10. exactly, the ong bak flicks play like a super youtube movie. Juvenile and asinine story that barely stitch together a series of awesome but increasingly stale and repetitive action sequences that serve more as a vanity piece to show off Tony Jaa than anything else. The second one didn't even have the charm of the freshness of Jaa's athleticism, it just seemed like recycled B footage from the first movie with some horrible horrible CG and a little wire work thrown in for flavor. gotta say, i had little interest for number 3 and after reading this review I stand by comments in the Expendables thread where I wrote that if the end of ong bak 2 was where Jaa was headed, I wasn't interested. And I'm not.
  11. I have an iPad. I'm also not an apple geek but I do think it's a very handy and capable device, for what it is. It's by no means a replacement for a real laptop but as a complimentary device it's very nice. But no matter what Jobs says, typing on it is not a "dream". It does have some wonky limitations though. Most of it you probably already heard but for me the big thing is no cloud support except for with a few specific devices like the HP media server and even that is through an ap. So, the iPad can't/won't stream music or videos natively even though with draftN built-in it has the bandwidth to do it. On the flip side, netflix instant watch works great, as does YouTube. Battery life is as advertised, the screen is crisp and responsive. It's just a solid machine.
  12. Yeah, that's what I meant. If it's shiny gold chrome plastic, I'll probably pass. Strike freedom is probably my least liked design out of the SEED-verse. But if it lights up and is all glowy and full of light, then I'll begrudgingly but it.
  13. Meh, I'll wait to see how all the gold is handled first,
  14. Such as? This is a nice take on the apples to oranges argument, btw. Now, instead of comparing it to gundam, or legos, or lobsters it's just a generic and nebulous "other".
  15. saw it. it was fun. Spontaneous boos when M. Night Shyamlan's latest crapfest came up.
  16. refudiate this.

  17. Sounds like you're GREEN with envy for
  18. they said they're including some sort of playable, condensed recap of ME1 for the PS3 version of ME2.
  19. Really? Wrex is supposed to be dead? Huh, better go play ME2 with my renegade shep.
  20. a movie of two kids playing the board game would still be better than fighting water bound space aliens... if they're water bound, how the hell did they get to earth?
  21. I dunno, the new battleship movie seems like a shoe in... they fight a water bound alien armada... water bound space ships...
  22. Good! It's a great game. I think it's great that it's coming to the PS3. Just keep in mind, it's sort of a deconstructionist take on RPG's. Some people just can't get over that and need to have their D&D character sheet and page after page of inventory management.
  23. new score??? You sir, are dead to me.
  24. there's nothing to think about unless you don't like epic, cinematic A+ storytelling wrapped in an awesome RPG/shooter
  25. that's funny because we're a lot closer to KR today than we are to airwolf. A lot of the stuff shown in KR like the AI, drive by wire, computer system, a lot of that we can do today (to varying degrees). We're still no where near a bullet proof helicopter that can hit mach speeds
