  1. I don't really see where Yamato could fit more ratchet joints in on a valk. They seem to use them wherever there's space already. If anything, it's takara/Tony that seems to be moving away from ratchets and using more friction joints and ball and socket joints on their toys.
  2. Visual is almost never considered canon. Any and all productions either make compromises or the they willfully break rules for dramatic effect.
  3. My prime shep is a vanguard and shockwave is pretty efficient at clearing out the rushing husks so it was Geth Shield for me. And I can't wait for the new DLC!
  4. the newark CA TRU has around 5-6 animated rodimus in stock and a handful of cybertron ironhide for anyone still looking,
  5. Sweet, the armor + low vis vf-1s look wicked. Really wish I could have jumped on board this but your pics take the sting out some!
  6. too bad in bot mode WFC Soundwave looks like he has a giant ass.
  7. low e is short for "Low emissivity". Basically it stops a good deal of radiant energy from coming through. If you're gonna get your windows done, it's worth it to get the low e coating done to it as well.
  8. Yeah, I really think they screwed up with that. The should have included the FP's at no extra charge and just sold the fold booster separately. I'm sure they would have sold a lot more for the yf-21/22 owners.
  9. True, the range of motion between Prime and Grimmy is similar but Prime's hands swivel, the fingers are individually articulated, he's got little moving pistons in his joints, he has pop open leg vents, shocks on his wheels, a gimmick that doesn't hurt his articulation, his skirt is made of moving panels rather than just rotating (even the seekers had moving panels) a good deal of Prime's joints are ratchets while Grimmy has a bunch of friction ones and, what's most important to me, a transformation that is an interesting evolution of the G1 transformation, not just an upscaled one. Now, I'll admit that G1 Grimlock's transformation really didn't need fixing in the same way that the rest of the MP line did in order to get to a anime accurate bot mode... but they could have easily increased his range of motion in either mode to compensate. If they had dumped the glowy hand gimmick they could have given him pull out arms and given him a double jointed elbow, for instance. I won't argue with you on the seekers, cuz for me, they also marked a decline in the MP brand. The hip kibble and skirt severely limits their leg movement, a transformation that pretty much causes a key joint to fail... but I give it points for having an intricate and novel transformation and for having a number of gimmicks packed into a smaller toy. Anyways, I'm not saying he's a bad toy. I think he's WELL worth the 60 bucks I paid for him. I just don't think he measures up well to MP Prime. And from what I've seen of MP Roddy, he looks more like what I came to expect from the line.
  10. low e glass is SO worth it. toys aside, our electricity bill went from 140 bucks to 50 bucks.
  11. He's just limited in posability in both modes, a gimmick that removes articulation. Part of why I pay the higher prices for MP and even Leader class molds is for the engineering and articulation. The seekers may be kibbletastic but their transformation is fun and yeah, Prime doesn't hold up so well after all this time but he's still got way more articulation than Grimmy as well as more metal and he's a damn sight more imposing than grimlock due to his size and heft. Grimlock just feels, to me, like a big step backwards.
  12. You hear that mikeszekely, even CoryHolmes thinks you're off the mark with this one... *shudder*
  13. Yup, it's a welcome return to form after MP "It's just bigger" Grimlock.
  14. Funny how KARR sounds all heroic and noble and KITT sounds like a fat out of work has been with a bloated sense of accomplishment
  15. ah, okay. Thanks for clearing that up for me.
  16. I thought WFC was supposed to be canon for all of Transformers?
  17. I'd love to get one, just can't afford it... specially not with the Macross and vf-19 coming out.
  18. sweet, that's a gorgeous custom.
  19. congrats, pics galore when you get it!
  20. true... true... I must have blocked out that out of my memory.
  21. It was a simple, unimportant, unsolicited "opinion" putting someone down who was obviously excited and happy at his purchases. You're neither his mom, wife, or financial advisor and he didn't ask, so your "opinion" is at best condescension and at worst insulting. This is a thread about toys, if you think buying toys is a waste of money, then kindly remove yourself from the conversation and let the people who are happy to spend THEIR disposable income on toys do so in peace.
  22. I'd buy another one if they updated it so it more like the destroids in the articulation and detailing. As they are now, I wouldn't buy another ever if it did come in TV green.
  23. and I voiced mine that maybe you shouldn't act like a self righteous ass when someone else is having a good time with their money in a way that has zero impact on you. handle it. So, people aren't allowed to voice their opinions if they contradict yours? Bwahah, man... that's rich.
  24. gotta love the blow hards who feel perfectly justified wasting their own money on what is essentially worthless luxury goods but feel the need to shove their noses in other people's business when they do the same.
  25. why would anyone get a 200 dollar toy? How about you let the guy enjoy his hobby the way he wants to?
