My play through as a soldier was easily the most boring and most tedious of any class. If people are playing the game that way... I feel sorry for them, I think they're really missing out on a lot of the fun of the game.

I'm in! Though it's probably gonna be the only toy I get for the rest of this year.
-
I want in, these look absolutely fantastic!

So true, plasma conduits and consoles exploding, bulkheads and panels crashing down but somehow in all the destruction the gravity generators always kept working on the good old enterprise.
-
Wow, that's fantastic

it's not the speed, it's the acceleration or deceleration that's dangerous.

Star Wars tech employ "inertial dampeners" that protect against g-forces. One of the novels makes a point of saying how wedge or someone prefers to fly with some sensation of g-force as to have a better sense of spatial awareness and not end up like that guy who plowed his X-Wing into the Death Star all the whiles yelling, "I can make it, I can make it!"

yeah, without those windows, the temp inside the house would hit 76-80 degrees by 11am. With em, the house doesn't get above 73 degrees the whole day unless it's 90+ degree day. And even when we do have to run the AC, we don't have to run it as long since the house keeps the hot out a lot better. Once we get the insulation in the ceiling up to recommended levels it should be even better. Plus, those windows qualified for the energy rebate so it was just pure win all around. So.. uhm, energy savings helped me afford my tv vf-1s (trying to tie this back to the topic...)

Glad things worked out. I had wanted to go and get my vf1d signed but life got in the way, oh well. -
The Transformers 3 Thread--A Michael Bay Thread

hard not to read that as a spin job by Paramount to get out of paying her considerable medical, disability and physical therapy bills. -
I was referring to the complaint about the fold booster.

oooh, you mean like making it a websclusive only available in Japan? Yeah... that would have been awesome. but the 1/55 shoulder only moves along one axis. I'm all for ratchet joints where applicable (knees and elbows, like yamato already does) but if it means completely screwing up the accuracy and/or transformation to work in ratchets just to have ratchets, no thanks. And working in universal ratchets in the VF-1 shoulder, that's really not feasible. Even on MP Prime you have to pull the shoulder out in order to use the universal joint, where are you gonna put that mechanism on a valk other than making it leader class SS fat? Besides, the existing shoulder joint works just fine. It's more than strong enough to hold a pose even with the FAST packs and GBP armor in place.

oh, I'm talking about the original 616 peter parker. And yeah, Ultimate Parker is more cool geek than uber a-social nerd. -

No.. he was always pretty emotional. The kid had no friends, stayed at home with his chemistry set, He dressed up like a wrestler to earn money to get the girl, he became spider-man because he was so filled with regret and guilt over getting Ben killed, he's so fixated on his aunt he let his relationship with MJ get magic'd into non-existence. Just because he gets angry and has outbursts doesn't mean he's not emotional. It's in Ultimate spider-man where Peter is portrayed as the geeky but still (kinda) cool guy. 616 was a geeky asocial dork until he got bit by the spider. -
The Expendables. Coming Summer 2010.

Not me. I love all those guys. I wanted this movie to be good and I had a good time watching it, but lets be honest, it's not a good movie. The pacing was off and it suffered from the same affliction that Bay movies do... the action just gets monotonous, the explosions start to sound like the ticks of a metronome, tick, explosion, tock, explosion. -

If anything, the movies made peter into less of a geek than he was in the comics. Pete was a full on science dork who invented webbing, not as a side effect of his super powers but because he was just that much of a geek. Plus, the dude sewed his own costume. Even Superman had his mom sew his costume. -

How about good action? Competent directing? Lots of stuff blowing up isn't the same thing as interesting, fun or exciting. -
you flip open the top of the head and spin the eye piece around 90 degrees so that the different colored eye piece is visible.

they probably meant to write "minutes" and typed "episodes" by mistake.

Except rdj is a gifted actor and Logan is a walking pharmacy, or at least the sewage that comes out of one. -
lol, not what I was talking about. but okay.

yeah, I can do without Prime's trailer but the space winnebago was one of the key things that told informed the viewer the difference between hotrod and rodimus.
-
I'm sure they will. Even the thief had new main plot dialog added in and she's nowhere near as important a character as liara.
-
I like MP Prime's ratchets as well, though I wish the ones for his hips were finer, there's too few indents in that area. Prime's hands needed to have a peg or magnet to hold his gun too.

It's really not fair to compare transformers to valks. They operate with entirely different rules. Valks have to conform to the idea that they are piloted by humans, must have a plausible transformation, need to have working aerodynamic surfaces, and have fantastic yet realistic power plants. And the majority of fans demand that the toys look as close to the anime or line art as possible. Transformers don't have any of those limitations. They have hands coming out of engines, they walk around on car seats, "wings" can be folded up legs as thick as the rest of the plane, landing geat can be pegs that don't stow away anywhere but are just attached to the outside of the form and most importantly they aren't held to the dimensions established in the anime. So if they need Leader Starscream to be obscenely fat to accommodate a battery box, they can do it. I don't know if any of you have ever taken apart a valk, but there's really no internal space that can accommodate a battery box. Arms hold hands, thighs have a host of joints and fold away panels, legs have landing gear, the cockpits hold pilots, instruments, landing gear, heat shields, etc. Even with the MP Seekers, Takara/Tomy abandoned light up effects and many of the gimmicks they load up tranformers with. And *even* then they still had a compromised jet mode and fragile joints that broke during normal stress. And still, the seekers don't have realistic landing gear, their cockpit is lacking the detail seen in yamato valks, and they don't have the posability of yamato valk. At the end of the day, yamato and takara have different goals in mind. Yamato makes collectibles and Takara makes toys.
