  1. sweet, thanks. Placed my order
  2. Got it, played a bit. Graphics... While the engine is definitely getting long in the tooth the improvements made to animation and environment give this one last a bit scope and grandness that make the last two games feel claustrophobic in comparison. Gameplay... it's Halo. Either you like it or you don't. Not much here that's going to change anyone's mind either way. Story... not deep enough into the campaign to have any say and I'm not enough of a Halo fan to know the back story but I'm guessing we're all going to die in tragic ways saving folk from the bad guys. Multiplayer... didn't bother. I spent the last six months playing ME2 and Dragon Age. Not in the mood to be screamed at by some 13 year old over what a n00b I am.
  3. the 25 is a POS. Bad design, cheap materials. Stay clear. The 27 is a much improved effort.
  4. Redundant post.
  5. oh, okay, well that makes sense. So are you going to do missiles, bombs, that sort of thing as well?
  6. why is there a zombie in that car??? WHY!!!
  7. Please explain. I can buy that SW has inspired people to go into science... but as a basis for science?
  8. What about dyeing the plastic? Anyone tried this yet?
  9. Vipers don't sortie for any real length of time and even in the show they run out of both fuel and ammunition. They're not designed for staying power. The new Galactica is supposed to be 1400m long, shorter than an ISD. Really? The Galactica easily has the narrowest hallways of any mainstream capital ship design. Even the hanger bay is FILLED with stuff. Busted vipers being rebuilt, parts, weapons racks etc. It also helps to remember that the Galactica is only carrying a fraction of her intended crew and viper/raptor compliment. She was a decommissioned floating museum when the Cylons attacked. Compare that to Star Trek where hanger bays are the size of football fields and there's one shuttle parked in the middle. And Vipers don't carry jump engines, raptors do and even they can't jump very far. One of the reasons why the guts on the Galactica are so big is because she CAN jump far. And there's no justification for any of the tech in SW. It's a fantasy show. They do stuff because lucas thinks it's cool. How can light just stop after 3 feet? How can light deflect light? How does the EMpire not afford shield and jump drives but the Rebel Alliance can? Why haven't they ever gone after the Calamari when they're building capital ships for the Rebels? Why don't they install guard rails on any of their catwalks?
  10. It helps to think about SW as a fantasy movie that happens to have technology. There's no reason for any of their tech other than whatever lucas thought was cool. Why is it that TIE fighters have no shields or jump engines but the poorly funded, ragtag rebel fleet does on all their fighters?
  11. it still takes a lot of space to hold food, water, parts, ammunition, fuel, the people to fix crap, pilots, and what not. And as it relates to BSG, the Galactica is less than half a mile long and the larger ships like the Pegasus were also factories in addition to being carriers capable of producing vipers. edit: never mind, apparently they retconed the size of the Galactica to a mile or so long. But still, the size makes sense considering that in the BSG-verse they can't just magically materialize food, water or even air. They also burn actual fuel (magically powerful and efficient but still actual fuel). And a great deal of the space inside a battlestar is taken up with mechanics. The launch catapults, the hanger bays, the repair bays, the engines, etc.
  12. I'm not so worried about parts breaking but I do think this will eventually find its way to the clearance section unless yamato is going to do this as a limited run. But even then it's hard to take their word for it, seeing as how the "limited" vf-22 gamlin keeps showing up here and there.
  13. gee, a backwards cardassian ship... that's so original.
  14. Well, me2 has had some good dlc. Overlord is pretty good and this new shadow broker mission is fantastic.
  15. okay, finished the Morrigan DLC. It's just a playable epilogue to Origins or prologue to Dragon Age 2. The combat is pretty mild and if you have played one character through Origins, Awakening and the other DLC than you'll be able to sleep walk through this. The one new monster/boss is the easiest boss fight in all of Dragon Age so far. If you don't want to spend the cash: there's some jabs at the Harry Potter series in the game as well (dialog between NPCs in the Mage's Tower). Overall... for hardcore fans only. There's not enough gameplay here to warrant the price and they're pretty much banking on the fact that fans are going to: A. Want to see and find out what happens to Morrigan and B. Are desperate for anything concerning DA2.
  16. it's busted
  17. ahaha, classic.
  18. it looks like studded leather armor and it's not character specific
  19. haven't finished Morrigan's but Leliana's DLC is a combination of boring and frustrating as hell thanks to some unbelievably cheap level designs. But the bonus quest reward armor does carry over into both Origins and Awakening and that armor is pretty good, right up there with the uber rogue armor you can buy in Origins.
  20. proof that Unions have too much power in this country, a good hard working actor wouldn't let something like 16 years of being dead stop him!
  21. Q2 sounds great to me!
  22. I agree that shockwave is kinda weak sauce until it's maxed out but it's well worth the points, IMO. Clearing out husks and other grunt level baddies is so fun. On an unrelated note, it sucks that the various dragon age DLC and expansion aren't anywhere near as good as the ones for ME2
  23. You can get training for an additional weapon class in the game but biotic powers like shockwave and singularity do crowd control much more effectively.
  24. Vanguard is my preferred class. In terms of pure ability to do damage they're pretty hard to beat.
