    nvm, yes, they do open. edit... but they're not supposed to, they're glued shut. but the speakers are all in there. edit 2.. definitely not meant to open, the hinge doesn't have a pin, so if you get it open, there's nothing to keep the two halves together. The top half just comes off revealing the speakers underneath.

    but lots of valks have built in cannons that are able to be used in battroid mode like the vf-17, vf-22 and yf-29. They all got gunpods. my personal fiction regarding my armed vf-4 is that this unit is towards the end of the service life for the vf-4, when they realized that it didn't have enough arms for extended missions and they decided to retrofit it to make it a more versatile platform..

    yeah.. that's not like the beijing I experienced either. When I was there the air quality was somewhere between "people breathe this?" and "I'm pretty sure the air here is trying to kill me." and tourist sites like the summer palace were filled with left over plastic wrappers and grocery bags from where people were having picnics... just anywhere that there was grass and shade. Actually seeing any of the exhibits involved muscling people out of the way since the concept of waiting in line hadn't made its way over there at the time... and don't get me started on the people walking around and randomly coughing and spitting phlegm all over the street.

    I haven't noticed those issues on my copy. The only problem I had was with the paint bubble on the visor.

    oh.. he's a "customizer'. In other words, he bought 20 at 100$ and he feels that if other people get it at 50$ it will keep them from coming to him and buying out his insanely marked up customized masterpieces. Gotcha.

    I'd still give the vf-19 series the nod as "best" but the vf-4 is a pretty amazing toy. It makes me really curious to see what yamato could do with the sv-51 and the vf-22 if they ever revisit those designs.

    I guess I'm lucky that I was able to get my MP prime for the original 99$ and was able to use a 20% off coupon for my 2nd copy (@ the 120$ retail price point.) Two MP primes for less than the price of one takara version.

    yeah, luckily it's just a paint bubble from the green clear paint. I'll strip the paint and redo it sometime

    anyone notice that the kai mask is molded into the inside of the green visor? my copy also came with that unfortunate birthmark on the visor (remains of an air bubble)
