What Current Anime Are You Watching Version v3.0
eugimon replied to wolfx's topic in Hall Of The Super Topics
edit: removed for being in the way wrong thread. -
I read those Dune sequels and prequels. They're immediately forgettable and add nothing to the mythology while the prequels actually contradict what's told in Dune in several instances.

Don't let it get to you. Just treat it like I treat the Star Wars prequels, Macross II and Star Trek Voyager: really elaborate fan fiction.

What? How are any of those things "socialist"?
-
Yup, I asked my friend about it, he read the notice and said, "I'll ship fed-ex." problem solved
-
Because it would be hard for the audience to tell the difference between normal Detroit and alien devastated Detroit...
-
that's very possible.

Nice pics! Can't say I'm thrilled about the head, reminds me of the ver 1. 1/60 yammie. Can that cannon swing all the way down in battroid mode?
-
The 22's definitely have tighter joints which help to keep them standing in battroid mode but the 21 has more accessories and is the more iconic version of the design, imo.
-
If you find you enjoy the social and political aspects of the Dune books, check out Kim Stanley Robinson. He writes more "hard' science fiction and his narratives are more frameworks for his examination of sociology and science. His California trilogy and the Mars trilogy are worth checking out.

We Americans like to think we ARE the rest of the world.

I love the vf-11 sculpt but I doubt I'd buy another unless it was the vf-x-2 scheme or a really kick ass low viz do. It just has the misfortune of being expensive and cursed with a boring paint scheme.

that's because the MP3 gimmick sucked. Too big to carry around as a portable MP3 player and too feature poor to use it for any other purpose other than a gimmick to show to other nerd friends. Put it in a stand. That way you can put in real speakers and we can use it for our PC's or whatever. Put little LED stage lights on and have it come with the rest of the band.
-
Oh, no. If you're using a lightbox or other sort of lighting then low light shooting isn't going to be an issue for you. Get the G then. It's a fantastic camera.
-
I love the G series but they're not the best for indoor stuff. If you want to go with canon the powershot s95 is what I would suggest. It has a bigger sensor and handles low light fairly well. For something a little more in the G series range, check out the panasonic/lumix LX series cameras. They're lower res, around 10MP, but that gives them better low light performance.
-
wait... so skyline is an actual movie... shown in the theater? I could have sworn it was syfy's crap of the week.
-
haha, I have no doubt YOU would walk around rocking the sound booster. LOL Anyways, Graham said he mentioned an MP3 player build into the sound booster. Not just speakers. I wouldn't mind a speaker system and USB dock built into a stand. Then it would be easier to work in higher quality speakers and maybe even a little light system.
-
Any speakers you could fit into that thing would suck. A full mp3 player would tack on somewhere around a hundred bucks on to it... remember how much the fold booster cost? And that was little more than a glorified flashlight. And then what? You're going to walk around with a little sound booster MP3 player instead of an ipod?
-
Please, no mp3 players in the sound booster... can we just leave the kiddie gimmicks to the transformers crowd?
-
I'm getting that RG Zaku. Looks fantastic.

Honestly, if yamato released a tv accurate sculpt and the DYRL? sculpt, I'd still get the DYRL version. The moments that are most striking for me of the SDF-1 are nearly all of the movie version.
