the arms are the secondary hull along the main gun in ship mode. My question is, why does it need rotating colonies in the legs? Robotech has artificial gravity and unless that ship is ginormous, those colonies would have to be spinning awfully fast in order to mimic the effects of gravity.

Wait, wait, Ariola is a joke name, right?

YF/VF-19 is supposed to look stubby. It's just all the toy got the legs wrong until now
-
Well, whatever craptastic plastic malady that affected my DX 25 is now affecting my 27 as well. Left Shoulder is too loose to hold any sort of pose and the shoulder arm bar latch doesn't hold the metal swing bars in place anymore.

Nope, Indiana Mal should be played Captain Tight Pants himself.

True. But the paddles on the SV-51 are pretty small, not at all like the 3D paddles on the 21/22. While the entire foot on the VF-0 is shown pitching up or down. edit:: if you watch the fight between shin and nora in ep 5, Shin is able to pull off pretty aggressive moves using thrust vectoring. While Nora keeps up the way she maneuvers the SV-51 is a little different and not as dependent on thrust vectoring.
-
You're forgetting the vf-0 has a much more aggressive vector thrust system then the SV-51.

Gotta go with the Yf-19's gun. I like stubby looking guns, plus you can actually reload it in the field.

nathan fillion wanted the role as well. Clearly this is an example of idiot producers deciding they needed a "big star" to draw in a audience. I'm sure the story will be made "darker and grittier" in order to accommodate Marky Mark. Now Drake isn't a treasure hunter but an Iraqi war veteran who also loved art. Assigned to guard the National Museum of Iraq, he and a young Iraqi boy he had befriened were brutally gunned down. The brutally evil evil thieves walked out with three priceless treasures as he lay there bleeding to death, bleeding to death while cradling the body of the young Iraqi boy he had befriended, and also screaming up into the sky (zoom crane shot). Now Drake is out for revenge and to rescue the three priceless treasures. DUN DUN DUN!

I'd guess fuel.

Not going to watch. What a horrible, horrible miss cast.

Are you two kidding with this? The only way this conversation is even remotely on topic is that glen beck just makes things up, pure and simple. The way he goes on about the militarized south Mexican border, a complete and utter fabrication. The man spews lies and hatred and people lap it up. As for what happened to us auto industry, and manufacturing in general... The us government in the 80s decided to coddle industry by devaluing the dollar against the yen while simultaneously creating tariffs against japnese imports. They also reversed the fuel econonmy standards imposed in the 70s while at the same time massively subsidizng oil and gas. The result was that American car manufacturers created large, gas guzzling cars while the rest of the world demanded smaller, fuel efficient cars. The result was that the us auto makers couldn't sell their cars overseas because people who pay 8$ a gallon don't want to drive a huge boat that gets 18mpg. The amount of delusion in this country is staggering and people like glen beck only feed that delusion.

or the armor set could just come with the parts on the vf-ll we have to swap out. I'm sure Yamato must realize by now that most of us are experts at dismantling and putting their stuff back together by now.

I wonder if when they designed the vf-ll the M7 license wasn't an option so they didn't even bother with it in mind. Personally, I'd rather pay extra for a re-worked vf-ll + full armor than something half assed. There's been way too much of that going around already.
-
notice I said "salvage". It's still a long ways off from other modern toys.
-
Agreed. They did an admirable job on salvaging the basic design of the DX 25 with the 27 but really, the 25 just needs to be redesigned from the ground up. There's very little to it that's salvageable.
-
haha, go for it.

No valk, including the VF-0, would need the VTOL fans as the numerous verniers provide enough thrust and control.

Ghost in the Shell SAC: SSS 3D remake
eugimon replied to shiroth's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
Whatever. A well composed shot is going to be well composed, 3D or no. Shooting it in 3D isn't going to destroy the composition. On the other hand, 3D can really enhance the sense of space and movement as it did with the flight sequences in How to Train Your Dragon, The Owl Movie With The Ridiculous Name I Can Never Remember and Avatar. Granted, that awful 2D to 3D conversion process can make something look horrible but that's no different than a horrible sound mix pulling you out of the movie or poor camera work, etc. It's all up to the competence of the person using the tool, the tool itself isn't intrinsically good or bad. -

And if you don't want to pay more or if it causes you discomfort or you can't see in 3D etc, you don't have to go to see the 3D version. Every 3D movie outside of IMAX is has been and will be available in the traditional format. If we follow you're argument, then color and stereo and surround sound, all these are also just gimmicks to "differentiate the theater experience from the home experience." All of these technologies came about well before they were adopted at home and most homes still don't have surround sound for that matter. As for using it as an excuse to raise ticket prices, ticket prices have been going sky rocketing for the past 20 years, long before the current 3D movie boom. In fact, I remember distinctly my local theater having to raise prices in order to do the upgrades necessary to show the Star Wars Special Editions and that was just to make them THX compliant. For many people, movies are an immersive visual experience. 3D, when done well can help sell that illusion. Just because you don't seem to get anything doesn't mean that people who are gullible chumps. -

a gimmick? Like stereo sound or color? Whether 3D adds anything to the movie going experience is dependent on the skills of those making the movie, the technology itself is just a tool. -

Well, if they ever invent a gun that's powered by the word "respect" then the aliens won't stand a chance.

Don't forget the vf-1j; so, 6.
