Cinematical has a story up saying Viggo "Aragorn" Mortensen is being pursued to play Zod. http://blog.moviefone.com/2011/02/25/superman-viggo-mortsensen-general-zod/ Would be fantastic casting if it gets done, imo.- 442 replies

yeah, the extended range is great and I like how the mages actually go after the enemy's ranged attackers first and stop spraying their own tanks with fire or ice attacks. And I love the painterly touches to the graphic engine. It really fits with the storytelling style of the game.

I'm definitely enjoying the combat in DAII a lot more than in DA:O. Especially for the mage. I always enjoyed the mage class but now I feel a lot more involved in the fight, rather than just standing back and quarterbacking things. I'm also really enjoying the skills upgrades to the fighter class, he's much more proficient at handling mobs now than before. I can't wait till the game comes out.

But most shows out there, for adults and children, can be described as a cheesey name and a collection of cliches. What's wrong with that? Let's face it, as much as we like to pretend to be, we're not the target demographic for cartoons and toys in the States and I'd love for my kid to get to watch a cool version of the shows I liked when I was his age.

The 27 ankle locks came loose on both my copies and nearly all the metal on metal joints are worthless now too.

Batman - GK isn't the best representation of Bruce Timm's work GK was a collection of different writers, directors and animation studios like 4c, madhouse, production IG. When you say Bruce Timm, it conjures a very specific art and story telling style. I agree with the general idea that robotech just needs a complete reboot that includes a solid divorce from it's 80's anime roots but the current leadership has pretty solidly show that they're more interested in milking the franchise dry than doing anything truly unique or worthwhile with the what they have.

I don't know man, pacquiao has been beating the cr@p out of people bigger and heavier than him. There's a lot to be said for speed and skill. -
it's when Roy is doing an air to air refueling and the tanker gets shot down and roy chases down the spare gunpod.

I'm sketchy as well. If it starts snowing I'm gonna have to take my kid out to go play in it. -
Yeah, arnie doesn't have nearly the sci-fi credibility as say... fish.

Nice find! Battroid looks pretty good. Not thrilled that the wings just hang off there. oh well, that's the design, I guess. Price is a more than a little steep for a design I'm not fond of though. -

unless you live in Texas and you're going through a town with homerule and the actual, unposted, speed limit is 45 and now the cops just nabbed you for doing 20 mph over the speed limit when you thought you were doing the speed limit. -

yay, the yf-21 now no longer has my least favorite GERWALK mode. I do like the color scheme though, looks nice. -
oh that, install from the ends and not from the middle of the latch area, pops right in.

meh. I played the hell out of all of bioware's games and bladur's gate II as one of my all time favorite games of all time but I'm not beholden to a particular game mechanic just because that's how I played ten years ago. I think that style works better for games like NWN and Baldur's gate where the combat is much more strategic and parties can be on the large side but DA is a very different game, it's much more intimate and visceral and, for me, the more interactive combat mechanics leads to a better sense of immediacy and involvement. Having said that, I can see how it might not be the best system for a keyboard and mouse.

the battles are real time-ish. But you can still pause the game play to give orders, take command of specific party members, etc. It's just like the first dragon age game but now you have to press the attack button instead of clicking it once and then interrupting the auto attack with spells or abilities. I suppose people who complain bitterly about ME:2 will find stuff to complain about in DAII but I'm all for the faster combat.

dragon age II demo is out. Time to face down darkspawn again.
