  1. sweet... my friend lost my eva DVD's so this is perfect.
  2. cuz he's popular? actually, I think grimlock is a good fit.... muscle cars are never looked as having much finese... it's all brawn right? fits grimlocks personality pretty well, I think... though, I suppose a big truck would do just as well.
  3. don't really like mustangs, but I like that grimlock...
  4. wow... you really don't like transformers....
  5. Thanks for the reviews.... two questions: 1. scans? 2. and have there been any changes to the 1/100 VF-0? thanks!
  6. I just thought he looked cool... the various design elements came together well, he didn't look as cobbled together as devestator or some of the other combiners.
  7. just want to second the head being an anti-missile/anti aircraft type feature on the valk... if you consider just how tall these things are in battroid mode, they make pretty big targets.... like walk buildings... and then with the heat signature, anyone with a heat seeking missile could take pot shots at them... the anti-missile aspect of the head just gives the valk that extra measure of defense.
  8. sweet... predaking was my favorite combiner... I only had the two cats back in the day but I think they got sold during a yard sale....
  9. hmm, those are some really good points... maybe it will be necessary to use die cast metal in order to have the strenght and durability needed for some of those limbs? I'm looking at my sould of chogokin eva's and the die cast is very well sculpted... really makes the die cast on the mac plus toys seem blockish and rudimentary. And is it a factory limitation on the tampo printing? I ask because hasbro/takara use tons of it on their transformers and it doesn't seem to affect cost too much... economies of scale aside...
  10. better pilot sure... but during the first engagement, it seems hikaru had a better sense of the battle at large, group tactics and strategies... also during the battle over the protoculutre city, max allows himself to get taken out of the conflict so he could dogfight miria... he just completely left his remaining wingman in the lurch... I think of max like jordan before his first retirement: genius, able to win games on his own but not of a team player. True, but also remember that Millia can squish whole Zentradi squadrons by herself, so Max keeping her busy one-on-one is no mean feat, plus he is really helping Hikaru out by doing so. Meanwhile Hikaru can concentrate on his own point-and-shoot activities (the rest of the Meltran battle suits seem pretty lame) without having to worry about the Millia menace. Jeez, look at all that crap I wrote. And all whilst keeping a straight face! hmmm... so true so true.... my thinking is, during the protoculutre city battle, if max had better leadship skills, he could have set her up for someone else to shoot down... after all, she was barely staying alive focusing on max, if hikaru got a lock on her, in the time it would have take to divert attention to him, max could have taken her out, or hikaru could have nailed her while she was dodging max's shots... sometimes you don't need to be skilled, just lucky... right time right place... a good leader makes situations like those happen. heh... I do so love having serious conversation about stuff that is completely fictional.
  11. man, that sucks... even more than the VF-0, I would love a SV-51... I just love the design. oh well, if yamato doesn't want to do right by us anymore, than I hope big west gives the contract over to someone else... but I'm still hopeful... I think yamato will come out with some cool stuff after the monster gets released, I think they just don't want to flood the market with too many high ticket items.

  13. argh, you're right!!! Its' Build King in hurricane mode.... sob sob sob....
  14. They are starting the new Shadow Force show next year so if it's not crap then interest in the toys could actually be at an all time high. (I don't want to start to even think about the quality of the show so let's not start that.) There's all this interest now with just the DVDs being released. Imagine if there's new material and if the alpha and beta play prominent roles then I'm sure there will be more people wanting toys to continue the line. If it's at least two years for a beta then does that mean we might get cyclones in the meantime? I agree with you... I think the new series ( if it ever comes out ) will revive interest in the alpha/beta combo.... I figure the alpha comes out this year... leads into the show and the new game, which should help sales of a cyclone, which I would think is already in the pipe and getting ready to come out, and then the beta comes out... the show should be in what, season 2 or 3 by then? should be a fair amount of interest.
  15. wow... the new devestator looks very cool... I wonder if the new design will have a better connection system... the original one was more like stacking bots on top of one another....
  16. oooooh, I love the over-sized pretty boxes!
  17. to further your optimism, I hope they do show either that OR LARGER PERFECT VARIABLE VF-0 STOMPING THE HELL OUT OF THE PVC 1/100!! Something tells me they are neglecting to even use the revisions mentioned nor add missles. After all when 1/60 appeared we saw everything! 3 variants at first, with full weapon loads!!! VF-0? impressioon is.."do they even care?!" if they make this thing cheap enough... like transformers cheap, I wont care if it comes with wing missiles.... I do wish they would just scrap this design and release a larger perfect transformation version... I really like the various VF-0 designs and am saddened to see these toys... oh well, add me to the list of people who will be getting the MPC alpha before the VF-0...
  18. maybe an early upgraded VF-1? looks like it has a scoop on the head... I don't think I care much for the design though
  19. hmmm, doesn't strike me as good news as all... for me, good star trek news would go something like this: Rick Berman, who has been steadily driving the Star Trek franchise into the ground with recycled plot lines and flat/stereotypical characters has stepped down from his position. that would be good news.
  20. wow... that shot of anakin looks great.. he really does look like he's luke's father... here's hoping that lucas doesn't make this one craptacular.
  21. nah, I passed on the VF-11 toys when it came out.. just couldn't deal with those stubby tail fins and all the screws messing up the lines. I'll pass if the thing is fugly. but I'll reserve judgment until I see some reviews posted.
  22. Well, of course, there are always those trade offs. Screen resolution is limited by the TV the console is hooked up to. Game makers know this, so they optimize a console game based on that. My system is on the ridiculous low end of the performance spectrum >_< It won't even run WarCraft III properly. I need to update, not for Doom 3, but for the RTS Lord of the Rings game coming out in the fall, as well as for the "recently released" War of the Ring game. There's another lord of the rings RTS game coming out?
  23. like the battroid... but fighter and gerwalk look... uhm.... not so good. the intakes just look wonky... too big? I dunno... going to have to think about this one... I like how it looks in battroid, so maybe I just get one and leave it in that mode... pose it next to my 1/60 vf-1s...

    GRAHAM!

Yeah, uhm by making toys for macross fans??? yes!!! see how evil they are??? EVIL!!! they provide fans toys and merchandise of a quality and diversity never before seen.... but at what cost??? forcing hundreds, if not thousands of people to spend their hard earned cash on toys that have little die cast content! Not picking a scale for their nefarious machinations! Sometimes, once in a great while, shipping a toy that is missing an accessory item or worse a manufacturing defect! Not providing people outside their company detailed information on their business practices! Toys, that some say are more like models than toys.... I say again, MODELS!!! please, won't somebody think of the children??? edit: fixed spelling error, though there may be more....

    GRAHAM!

well, I can see why they would want to control the flow of info... knowing what the future releases are may negatively affect sales of products released today or near future. seeing early prototypes may posion the well if the final release does not live up to expectations... or early prototypes may prejudice the market against their product. may create demand for a product that was terminated in early stages, leading to fan disapointment... may create unreasonable anticipation for product to be released by giving the impression that they are farther along than they actually are... gives competitors a time frame for when to release their cool toy/model... doesn't have to be macross related, could be any other franchise, I'm sure most people don't buy everything that hits the markets. I suppose there are other legit reasons, but let's not forget the main one: Yamato is EVIL and wants and plots to make our lives miserable!!! Grrrrr, evil yamato!!!
