  1. I'm gonna guess christmas...
  2. well... tighter joints in the hips... more weight in the legs for better stability. better elbow joint, something like the elbow they use in the perfect grade gundam kits. detailing or stickers for the cockpit... pretty plain. some caps for the screw holes ( they used to do this, why did they stop?)
  3. yup, sucks, thought there was actually gonna be a sequel.. though, hard to see how given how the movie ended... hahaha, when I worked at a dot com during the boom, we would do crap like this all the time.... not surprisingly, the company didn't do too hot.
  4. yeah... I was really hoping that they would use military stuff used for destrons instead of repaints... but I guess given the current political climate, big companies like lockheed wouldn't be too thrilled with their planes being labeled as destrons or decepticons....
  5. very sweet, if yamato doesn't announce a gpb armour set by 2005, you should do it yourself.... and sell them to us...
  6. the redhead supposed to be Mara Jade? think she'll make an appearence in the revenge of the sith?
  7. hmm, two thoughts... 1. it's kinda sad that the japanese reference the monitor more than americans do.. usually the monitor and her class are just foot notes to the civil war and period after. 2. in a way the Macross is like the monitor... it pretty much is a big gun with a ship build around it...

    GBP-1S Armor

you'd probably have to remove the nose cone to make that area look right with the armour on... it already looks a bit off on the 1/60... and man, the chest would stick out so much as well... but hey, if they build it, I will buy....
  9. his theme for patton was just genius, truly a loss.
  10. the more I see grimlock, the more I like him... his robot mode reminds me of the armour and gear that one would wear for kendo....
  11. Ed rocks! but I can't STAND ussop from One piece.
  12. best of recent memory, zabusa....freaking awesome sequence followed by sad tragic redemption. worst/dumbest: the poor military guy that gets his head cut off by the moving bulkhead in DYRL saddest: don't remember any of their names, but in one piece, the marine lady who rescued the navigator and the other girl, when she sacrifices herself so those two could live...
  13. very sweet, just the other day I thought about doing that... but the idea of messing up made my stomach queasy so I didn't... but great job on yours!
  14. use the force Guld?
  15. and it can't be just for the laughably bad... they left in the trooper who nails his head on the doorway....
  16. hey if nishikawa san can come up with a transformation NONE of us figured out until it was finally unveiled upon graham getting the first 1/48 sample, then I am pretty sure that modding his creation wouldn't be too hard for him to pull off. He did work on some of the 1/60 line as well so the dude has experience making 2 seaters. maybe we should start a letter writing campaign to get him to come back and do more work for yamato...? or we could have a fund raiser... there was this one school, I think in oregon...? where the school didn't have the funds for enought eachers so the community go together and raised the money themselves... we could do something like that... car washes, bake sales... we could hold up placards with pictures of the 1/100 VF-0... "Don't let bad toys happen to good people!"
  17. ah, you're right. but really, there should be some big changes for a shadow alpha... different intakes, some body work, not to mention hands and head need changing...
  18. yes, pictures... looked at the walmart local to me in southern california and did not see anything remotely like a galaxy defender...
  19. I dunno about all four.... looks more like three and one awful rushed paint job on a spare blue alpha...
  20. not any more unrealistic than a young boy with no military or martial training, getting into the cockpit of an uber advanced robot with super armour and going on to win a war and find out he has psychic powers so that he can go fight with laser swords against robots that look like something the nazis would think of with giant axes....
  21. Although the fact that the panels collapse into the arm may allow it to transform, let's assume it can't transform into fighter mode with that thing. You would waste fighter mode with that thing. To lose fighter mode for firepower.....I would not call that an equal tradeoff. "The loss" would probably only be temporary one and a ground fight may be required in a situation such as being pinned-down on the ground due to heavy anti-air weaponry etc. Fighter mode isn't everything. Does anyone know if valks can fold in modes other than fighter? I don't see why they wouldn't.... I ask because... if a few VF 19's can fold in behind enemy lines, say in gerwalk, and punch out the heavy hitters with that weapons arm, they could pave the way for other valks to come in through the hole... or, the weapons arm could be deployed during defensive missions, since it seems that UN SPACY uses valks now for guard duty... giving them the ability to have heavy hitting weapons seems like a good thing in either case.
  22. despite my support for yamato in the various yamato sucks threads that go on around here... I do think that after the 1/48 line the quality and level of detail of yamato's macross products has gone down.... the FP editions of the mac plus toys... the yf-21 by most accounts was a mess, poor posability, tranformation locking system gone wonky (per grahams review) and the vf-11... well, the FPs were too small... way too small... an easy to spot mistake. the Q-rau... high price point for a toy that had little in way of posability, features, detail or paint/detailing. the 1/100 VF-0... unless something huge changes from the protopics to date... I think the VF-0 doesn't even match up to the original mac plus toys... similarly bad proportions but this time with poorer materials and part swapping. so far, the monster looks like the only to be released toy that looks promising...
  23. A lot of your complaints can be addressed from the difference in angle of the two shots... the line art is looking up at the thing, it's going to appear longer and the torso will look longer. the "claws" are correct, if you look at the line art, the thing only has two fingers and a thumb... the placement of the claws is a bit off though. the legs are in the right spot, the pic of the toy is shot from a slightly top down angle , foreshortning is causing it to look off. that is not a backpack the head is in, that's the bulge that makes up the rear lower portion of the head. yes, the gun is missing, this is distressing to me as well. shoulders aren't sloping IMO, the proto picture, taken from a more of a front shot shows the shoulders are definitely not sloping. without seeing the thing in person, hard to say that the colours are off... consider the orignal picture, we don't know how it was lighted, we don't know if it was a digital or film shot. we don't know how it was printed and we don't know if the scanner affects the tint or shade... I really think "complete mess" is a bit harsh.. granted I don't think battroid mode is looking that great and yeah, the line are does look better but you gotta admit... there's a lot of fudging that can be done in a drawing to make something look good.
  24. if the swing bars are that much trouble, why not use a system like the 1/48 VF-1 has and just make the swing bars decorative?
  25. yup, instead of a mystical all pervasive force indwelling all life in the universe the Force is actually.... viral infection.
