  1. just saw it tonight, didn't know the twist going in, but I figured it out within 15 mins. not sure what tipped me off, but I turned to my friend and said, bet they're just a bunch a nut jobs hiding from the modern world. thus, the big twist, big let down.... I give the village: meh
  2. http://www.darkhorizons.com/news04/040802e.php Bond 21: News of the World reports that Eric Bana is in talks to take over from Pierce Brosnan as 007. The dubious report also indicates the title as "The Man with The Red Tattoo" and the plot is said to revolve around a deadly virus. Moviehole has confirmed with Bana's rep though that the report is false - "There's no truth to the story. He hasn't even been approached to play the role".

    2 seater 1/48s

I think two seater VF-1s would be pretty sweet and I really am interested in seeing how yamato would change the swing bar...
  4. I don't mind if Yamato goes the small and cheap route, as long as the also go the large and expensive route as well. Graham true true.
  5. LOL....better be careful or the TF fans on this board might hunt you down and tar and feather you Graham heh, I'm a marginal TF fan, I'll confess.. well, I like something like 0.01% of all TF toys every made... and it would be a shame if yamato decided to take the macross license that route... cheap and small.
  6. have no problem with d/l fansubs of shows that aren't licensed here in the States... specially if that show is a TV show. and I have a hard time with the price of DVDs of movies and anime... these are shows the producers and all involved already made their money on, putting it on DVD and adding menus should not freaking cost us 15 bucks... specially anime costing ten bucks more than movies. insane pricing and for a lot of times, really shoddy craftsmanship. I know, that does not justify theft, and thus, I don't get divx of movies and licensed anime.. but hey, if there is no license in the states, it's fair game.
  7. yup yup... if you make em, we will buy em... have faith in us yamato, we bought the 1/60 Q-rau didn't we? and we only gripe about it a little... give us high end valks guys, leave the cheap stuff to transformers.
  8. gotta second the die cast isn't all that notion... but die cast is nice.... for instance in the soul of chogokin eva series, the die cast gives weight to the toy, allowing for greater posability. die cast can also be used to balance a toy that is top heavy...
  9. saw it, loved it, saw it again. I thought the camera work was a little overdone at times but fit well with the story.. didn't think the story was as good as the first one.. more straightforward and linear and the twist was pretty predictable, actually they do kinda spell it out for you.
  10. the system specs for doom are pretty modest.. like a 1.5 p4 and geforce 3 card with 512 megs of ram... not bad. you won't be able to get all the bells and whistles but apparantly the code optimizes to your particular hardware. it looks great but it also looks like been there done that too.. I'm more excited for half life 2.
  11. I think it says a lot that bourne supremecy made more it's opening weekend than any Bond movie... the bond formula is old and tired, it's designed for an age where the spy game was seen as glamerous and it just doesn't work with what's going on in the world today. Bana is okay, don't think he makes a good bond, too doe eyed for me.
  12. actually, not too bad... high density plastics can do a lot, plus the frame and shape of the lens makes a difference as well.
  13. hmm, good point.
  14. beast wars megs. not so fun a quiz.
  15. transformers included, I have never understood why one would make a land vehicle that transforms into a robot... it's just odd. Like that AA unit, what's the point? so the guns are elevated a couple more meters? that helicopter is kinda cool though, in a weird spindly kinda way.
  16. Kawamori did design a Transformer. It's called Jetfire. Ha dee ha ha That's not even funny. Even after all these years, I'm still pissed that our beloved 1/55 VF-1 was made into a Trannie. Is nothing sacred Graham so I take it you're not a fan of the 1/60 jetfire conversions? oooh, how about a 1/48 conversion?
  17. hmmm, does the "conehead" look on meister bother anyone else....?
  18. it's kinda cool and yet, kinda wonky on the RX-8.... looks okay in bot mode I think... I'll make do with him all white.
  19. well, I'm not blaming nintendo.. it's just that the cartridge format really limits the space you have for graphics and content, a disk is much cheaper for the amount of info.
  20. I've seen this thing in person at the recent HK Toy Fare........Trust me you don't want pictures Actually, it's not too bad. Transformer fans will probably like it, as the design principal, quality etc seems similar, but it can't compare to a Macross Variable Fighter. Graham the folks who do galaxy defenders are ripping off transformers as well actually.. they have a armada megtron toy at my local wal mart
  21. wow.... I actually thought Sony's model opened up the gaming industry.. it allowed more companies to get involved, had a cheaper more accessible hardware (than the cartridge) platform... the battery life is crap, I agree, but I'm hoping battery tech and will improve by then.... I think the graphics and the disk based media are a great selling point.. my big complaint with GBA games are either they look great and are super short or they look blah and have longer game play and are so monotonous... like FF tactics.. great game but lack of variety really hurt it, IMO... and I'm sure sony will think of something cool to do with the memory stick... the idea that the PSP will do more than just play games but is a portable entertainment unit appeals to me... means I can just watch stuff during long commutes (when I'm not driving) and I don't want to play a game. as for the DS, I've yet to see a compelling reason for having that split screen... seeing a little map while playing mario kart racing is just not that interesting for me.
  22. looks cool, more excited about the sony handheld unit though...
  23. seriously, the law is so messed up in this area... criminal breaks into your house: slips on a rug, can sue you. cuts his hand on the glass he broke to get in, can sue you. you catch him and hit him, he can sue you. you shoot him but don't kill him, he can sue you. you don't have a warning posted on your property that you have a dog, and he gets bit by said dog, he can sue you. how completely messed up is this? my story, our next door neighbor's dumb brat kid WATCHED some guys rob our house. I wanted to strangle that kid...
  24. so I emailed toynami and asked about the head sculpt, their reply: Thank you for your inquiry. However we haven't released any pictures of the green Alpha head sculpt. Best regards, Customer Service Toynami Inc which is so odd, cuz what was that photo then???
